I want to build an HLS streaming server using Signed Cookie.
The video file is video/test.m3u8 on the S3 bucket.
If s3ObjectKey is set to vides/* as in the picture, the file is not downloaded. Access Denied comes out.
If s3ObjectKey is set to vidos/test.m3u8, the file is downloaded.
I want to access all the files in the 'video' folder.
If it's not vidoes/*, I want to know how to set up to access all files.
There is no signed cookie example on ps. aws docunet.
It seems like you're using CookiesForCannedPolicy in AWS SDK for Java. Since canned policy doesn't support reusing the same policy statement for multiple files, I'll suggest that you can look into CookiesForCustomPolicy which allows you to put * in the resource prop and give the permission to access all files in a directory.

I am working on application where I let end user upload csv files to a bucket through UI. Once user uploads the data, I want to let the user download the data which they have uploaded (through UI) and they should not be able to view/download data which other users have uploaded..
In GCP Cloud Storage Bucket, I am uploading all users files into a single bucket. so this bucket will have files from all the users. But when they want to download/view the files, they should see only the files they have uploaded and not other users. All this access has to be done automatically. Could you please guide me how should I set such permissions automatically?

If the user isn't authenticated, you will have to implement Anonymous sign-in to differentiate one user from another. From there, you generate signed access URL with getSignedURL() - you can also reinforce security by using a storage path that has the user UID as the source within your Security Rules, this allows only that specific user to read from that directory.
The key difference is that an access token is a permanent and sharable token allowing anyone to download it if they have this token.
a Signed URL is a short-lived access token which you can manage with more detail.
By using storageReference.getSignedUrl() will return a limited download URL that suites your needs.

I completely agree with #DIGI Byte’s solution of Signed URL as it is the most typical way to address this use case which gives the user read, write, or delete access to that resource for a limited time. Anyone who knows the URL can access the resource until the expiration time for the URL is reached or the key used to sign the URL is rotated.
I want to suggest another solution to this problem that is using a Customer-Supplied Encryption Key, with Cloud Storage:
You have to generate your own encryption key using this step. You can
use C++,C#, Go,Java,Node.js,PHP,Python,Ruby for creating the
Base64-encoded AES-256 encryption key.
Upload the object with the encryption key created with this step.
Download an object in the bucket that is already encrypted with this
step. This process helps as only the user that uploaded the
object has the key access to download it.
Rotate the encryption keys, by creating another encryption key and
use them as and when needed with this step.
I have a video in an aws bucket that I want to access. So, I'm clicking on the object uri which is the following:

However, in the xml that's presented, I'm getting an Access Denied error. How to fix this error, and how to access the video with a single url?
If you are in the console you must click "Download" which will generate a pre-signed-url which you can use to download the file.
You can make the file "Public" by clicking on the item in S3, click "Object Actions" and then "Make Public.
This will make the file available to everybody on the internet - I am not sure if this is what you want?
Otherwise, you would have to programmatically generate pre-signed URLs to access the files using secure links.
I'm writing app that handles large files upload (eg. 10GB). I want to use direct upload to S3 (pre-signed URL) and give that possibility for my web users. My steps are:
I'm creating IAM user with only "PUT" permission
I'm creating upload policy on the server side (and putting there information about max file size, file content type and policy expiration time (eg. 3 hours)
Web user is uploading the file using html form with that policy and pre-signed URL.
I'm checking the file headers on a server side after succesfull upload.
Now, I'm wondering about downsides and security issues of this approach. There are any?

I am using CarrierWaveDirect to upload a high resolution images to s3. I then use that image to process multiple versions which are made public through Cloudfront urls.
The uploaded high res files need to remain private to anonymous users, but the web application needs to access the private file in order to do the processing for other versions.
I am currently setting all uploaded files to private in the CarrierWave initializer via
config.fog_public = false
I have an IAM policy for the web application that allows full admin access. I also have set the ACCESSKEY AND SECRETKEY in the app for that IAM user. Given these two criteria, I would think that the web app could access the private file and continue with processing, but it is denied access to the private file.
*When I log into the user account associated with the web app, I am able to access the private file because a token is added on to the URL.
I can't figure out why the app cannot access the private file given the ACCESSKEY AND SECRRETKEY

unable to access private s3 file even though IAM policy grants access

The gist shows you're trying to create the presigned URL for GET yourself. While this is perfectly fine, it's also very error-prone.
Please verify that what you're trying to do is working at all, using the AWS SDK for Ruby (I only post code known to work with version 1 here but if you aren't held back by legacy code, start with version 2):

You may need to read up on passing args to AWS::S3.new here (for credentials, regions and so).
I'd advise you take the following steps:
Make it work locally using the access_key_id and secret_access_key
Make it work in your worker
If it works, you can compare the query string the SDK returned with the one you handcrafted yourself. Maybe you can spot an error.
But in any case, I suggest you use higher-level SDKs to do things like that for you.

I want to use S3 to store user uploaded excel files - obviously I only want that S3 file to be accessible by that user.
Right now my application accomplishes this by checking if the user is correct, then hitting the URL https://s3.amazonaws.com/datasets.mysite.com/1243 via AJAX. I can use CORS to allow this AJAX only from https://www.mysite.com.
However if you just type https://s3.amazonaws.com/datasets.mysite.com/1243 into the browser, you can get any file :P
How do I stop S3 from serving files directly, and only enable it to be served via ajax (where I already control access with CORS)?
It is not about AJAX or not, it is about permissions and authorization.
First, your buckets should be private unlike their current state which is world visible.
Then in order for your users to connect, you create a temporary download link which in AWS world called S3 Pre-signed Request.
You generate them in your back-end, here is a java sample
