I'm working on a react site based on create-react-app. I'm publishing it using gh-pages.
Problem : I have absolutely no idea why, how or what's happening, but when I deploy my app into gh-pages, my whole production is completely bugged, css files partly load, images don't show up, the styles are partly missing and partly showing up, tons of errors in the console (fixing them doesn't fix the issue), while I haven't touched a single line of code between the time npm start works and the time I execute gh-pages -d build. I'm wondering if I'm missing out something or if the gh-pages devs just abandoned the project and any hope to make it work properly.
Thank you !

I've created a basic Django app and I wanted to deploy it with Heroku. I have followed all the instructions given on Heroku but there was one error I made which was naming the file "procfile" instead of "Procfile". Now the website has been deployed but it only opens up to an application error. Upon checking the log, I have found the error code to be H14. I have since renamed the "procfile" to "Procfile" but the change doesnt seem to be integrated. How do I fix this?
Add the change on your repository, commit it, and push the applicable branch to Heroku. Finally, try to run Heroku again.
I have been just starting out with ember addon and one of the difficulty I am facing is to debug it. I have a separate repo for my addon(lets name it my-addon for now), and everytime I make any change, I have to
1) commit it
2) push the changes
3) go to consuming app and then re install the app from git(atleast re-run npm install git:address so I get the latest changes)
4) run ember g my-addon (because I am in older cli)
5) do build
6) and check if things are working
This process is kinda tedious, I was wondering if I can place the addon(all of it) within the consuming app itself, atleast in the dev phase so I can just build my ember app and test the addon in the consuming app itself, and once I feel good about, push it to my local git repo.
Any thoughts or approach on how you folks do it - or may be I am just missing out something and doing it wrong!
Thanks,
Dee
If you use ember-cli you can link your local addon in the consuming app. You can find all details in the user guide
Note that watchman doesn't observe local addon symlinked (there are couple of issues opened both on ember-cli and watchman). I've resolved removing watchman falling back to NodeWatcher (I'm on mac)
I am pretty sure the solution provided by #GUL must work too, but what worked for me was:
1) in the consuming dev app, I created a folder called addons and placed all my addon code there
2) in consuming dev app, in package.json I added :
"ember-addon": {
"paths": [
"addons/ember-chart"
]
}
and that worked for me!
The top answer is best here. I just wanted to offer an alternative that is useful in certain situations. npm pack at root of in development addon. Then cd back to parent project. npm install ../ember-composable-helpers-2.2.0.tgz. And then check if things are working.
npm pack will create a tarball as if published on npm.
I am running into an issue when I am deploying my app to heroku servers. On development (localhost:3000) everything works fine, when I launch the app some of my javascript is not working.
Solved the issue.
Turns out it had to do with bootstap reading the gems that were local on my machine. When I went to go push to heroku it was causing issues since I didnt precompile my assets and having all the gems was causing confusion so I removed them and added the bootstrap CDN and added it to the end of my body tag.
Maybe your assets are not precompiled. Check browser's console for missing files.
Heroku has very thorough documentation on getting the Rails Asset Pipeline working on there. Make sure you also use your browser development tools to help you identify 404 errors with assets or any other issues that can help you diagnose the problem.
I am very new to plone. I have a project folder in eclipse. I have imported it from the cvs project. I have zope as server and I start zope with ./bin/instance restart. When I make changes in my folder, I cannot see the changes in the development website. I can't seem to find what is happening. I even restarted zope after making changes in python. Can anyone help me with this?
Make sure you start your Zope server with bin/instance fg, most likely the name of the script if you used the Plone universal installer buildout.
To see changes in python code you'll either need to restart the server (CTRL-C then start again) or use something like plone.reload to request a reload of changed code.
When starting your server with the fg command, it is automatically running in debug mode and any templates, resources and skin items are reloaded automatically. Start the server with console or start and it'll run in production mode and templates and such are loaded from disk only once.
See the Plone.org documentation on buildout for more information.
The bin/instance command has a built-in help command, try:
bin/instance help
for a list of supported commands or run:
bin/instance help console
to get help on a specific command; the above example will print the help on the console command.
I'm a Jetty newb, but it's making life hell. First there was an Eclipse problem I described in another question. Rather than waste time on it, I decided to just run Jetty from the console. I started off importing a sample Tapestry project and was able to run it fine... the project is on the Tapestry page and is called tutorial1
I began work on my own project then and began introducing new functionality to it. At some point it stopped working. I tried backtracking my project to get it to a working state but every time I requested the home page it would just hang. At this point I still thought it was my fault, though I did think a more graceful error message would have been nice than the it attempting to load for a minute followed by a server timeout error.
I then shutdown jetty and attempted to load up the imported sample project using mvn jetty:run in my tutorial1 project directory. it doesn't work either! When I try going to localhost:8080/tutorial1 or the URL of my project the jetty console does show any output, almost as if it's not receiving the request.
I rebooted my entire machine but that doesn't help. I am not familiar with jetty architecture and am unsure if there is a way I can purge all my files from the jetty web application directory.
Any ideas?
Cliffs Notes:
Downloaded Tapestry Archetype project with maven.
Executed jetty from the command line using mvn jetty:run
Started new project
Executed jetty from the command line using mvn jetty:run
Modified new project
Error occurred, attempted fix and restarted Jetty (Ctrl + C, followed by mvn jetty:run)
Jetty restarted, but did not seem to handle requests for any pages
Tried starting jetty from Archetype project, experienced the same problem
If your project didn't deploy correctly, jetty won't serve any pages (they will either return 404 or some error in the 500s).
Look at the log folder and check if it is getting correctly deployed.
