I use RESTful service on Tizen emulator , this service works on android simulator but dose not work on Tizen emulator , How Can I test RESTful service on emulator in general? What are the possible issues for this problem ? I use visual studio 2017 Thanks
As you are using Visual Studio for Tizen Development, i am assuming that you are developing Tizen.NET app.
You have go give internet privilege to allow the app to consume a web service. Add the privilege from tizen-manifest.xml Privileges section.
<manifest>
.....
.....
<privileges>
<privilege>http://tizen.org/privilege/internet</privilege>
</privileges>
</manifest>
If you are using Tizen Studio, for security reasons, you need to give permissions to the url of your RESTful service. It's very simple, you need to add this line to your config.xml:
<tizen:metadata key="http://samsung.com/tv/metadata/use.preview" value="endpoint_URL=https://your.url"/>
Check too if you have this additional permissions in your Config.xml:
<tizen:privilege name="http://tizen.org/privilege/internet"/>
Please, try it

Is there any way to remotely debug a mobile web app in a W10&Edge phone from a computer through a USB connection? I mean, the same way we debug web apps in Android and iOS through Chrome and Safari dev tools.
If it is posible, which are the requirements of the computer? Would it be posible from a W7 or W8 computer?
I do not believe it is possible via USB, but you can use something like VorlonJS to debug websites remotely, even on mobile devices.
I demo exactly how to do this in a sample on GitHub.
Developer:
Simply navigate to your dashboard at http://vorlondebugger.azurewebsites.net/dashboard/default. This is your dashboard for viewing who is currently on the Vorlon demo site.
Users:
Instruct them to navigate to http://vorlondemoapp.azurewebsites.net/, which is a basic HTML5 boilerplate site.
Usage:
Look at your dashboard, and you'll now see that the users are viewing the page. You can alter their code on-the-fly.
I had a same question. But I solve my problem with this:
I copied html+js code into my UWP application and then I can remote debug it with Visual Studio
I recently working on a Windows 8.1 App, which was developed with C# and XAML. SharePoint Online is used for Data store.
I searched and found that Wictor solution can be used for Authentication. but the problem is that we can not use Wictor solution [http://www.wictorwilen.se/Post/How-to-do-active-authentication-to-Office-365-and-SharePoint-Online.aspx] directly as it is built upon .Net framework and Metro Apps are built upon .NetCore.
One possible option is to use WCF service and have whole Wictor solution in WCF service then call WCF service from Windows App. I tested it and it is working fine.
However, I wanted to know what would be the best approach available if I don't want to deploy this WCF separately. In future I have to publish this Win App on Windows store.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
After a Windows 7 fresh restart, I open the Visual Studio 2010 as administrator, create a new project of Windows Azure Project with ASP.NET Web Role, then at the WebRole1 project I add a WebService1.asmx and press F5 (run).
The Windows Azure services starts OK and the browser open the http:/127.0.0.1:8080/WebService1.asmx perfectly. But when I click at Invoke button to test the webservice method I always receive a Bad Request - Invalid Hostname, with a http:/127.0.0.1:8081/WebService1.asmx/HelloWorld.
The most likely cause is ASMX's WSDL file doesn't stand by load balanced environment such as Windows Azure. The test feature relies on WSDL. You will see similar issues if you add a web/service reference. It is recommended to upgrade to WCF. In WCF, you can use useRequestHeadersForMetadataAddress (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee816894.aspx) to fix the issue. If you need to use ASMX, please try to manually provide a correct WSDL file.
VS Studio 2005
I have developed an application that will need to access a web service.
I will be developing the web service. However, the platform will be Ubuntu running Apache Tomcat server.
I have 2 questions:
1) Can I deploy a MS XML web service to run on a Ubuntu Server?
2) If I can't. I will have to develop a Java Web Service. However, my application that is written in VS C# 2005 will need to access it will be a windows application. How can my application access a Java Web Service?
Many thanks for any advice,
If you want cross-platform compatibility, you can only deploy .net code that runs under Mono. The best way to check this is to actually develop the code under Mono and use Mono to test it. So, don't use Visual Studio. Sorry.
There is no problem with interfacing pieces of code written in two different languages. You can use XMLRPC, a RESTful API, or a proprietary protocol. I'm sure there are other ways for the two to "talk", as well.
I am working on Silverlight client to Microsoft Team Foundation Server. I am using an ASMX web service to make the actual calls using the TFS api.
Everything works fine when I run it with the visual studio development server, but I cannot figure out how to deploy the app to IIS.
I can get the ASMX web service to work unless it is a call that uses the TFS api. I have tried putting all of the TFS api DLLs in like every directory that I can think of, and even installing the visual studio sdk. Nothing works!
UPDATE 11/15/09 7:50PM EST:
Turns out that the TFS api was trying to create a cache at c:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Team Foundation\2.0\Cache\, and the IIS_WPG user didn't have access to do so. Easy fix.
The only supported way of installing the TFS API is to install Team Explorer. You could try to GAC just the assemblies you need, but you're on your own [and technically violating the EULA]...
Other things to check:
IIS is running in 32 bit mode
Impersonation is working correctly
Proxy settings
What error do you get? Have you tried attaching a debugger to IIS?
