On the Roslyn home page, there is a link for the "End User Preview" which takes you to the Microsoft Connect site.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/roslyn.aspx
Rather than seeing a form to complete, in order that I can download the end user preview, what I actually see is the "My Dashboard" area. So I search for "rosyln" in the "Product Directory' but no results appear.
Is Roslyn still available for Visual Studio 2013 users as the end user preview, or since Visual Studio 2015 Preview is on the scene, Microsoft have removed that download?
As of today (18 November 2014), the links are once again live. Apparently, the hosting had a 6-month expiration, which passed without us noticing.
Sorry for the trouble.
However, I will point out that we have not updated the Preview for VS2013, so the APIs there are quite out of date, and there are a number of important bugs that have been fixed. I would recommend using a VS 2015 Preview build to look at the .NET Compiler Platform ("Roslyn") instead.
Edit: You need to click "Downloads" in the top left portion of the screen.
Alternatively you can navigate to the download directly at: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?DownloadID=52793
Edit 2 (2015/01/02): It appears the files have been removed again.
Edit 3 (2015/02/23): The files are online again

Installed VS 2017 and trying to sign-in but getting the following error:
Following trick worked for me..
https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/56104/the-browser-based-authentication-dialog-failed-to-1.html
Close Visual Studio.
Open the Visual Studio Installer.(https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/enterprise/)
Click on the report a problem link at the top.
On the left hand side, there should be a person icon to sign in. Sign in.
Close that, and open Visual Studio. You should now be signed in.
Then go to File -> Account Settings. You should see a license, or click check for an updated license. (I didn't need to do this step. Things started working before this point for me.)
The newest Report Viewer for Visual Studio 2017 has some bugs that prevent us from using it. We’ve downgraded to Microsoft ReportViewer Runtime 2015 for Web Forms (v 12.0.2402.15). However, the report designer in Visual Studio creates new reports in the new “2016” format, and even editing old reports upgrades them to the new format as well. The older Report Viewer doesn’t understand the new format and bombs.
The new report designer is an extension to Visual Studio, “Microsoft Rdlc Report Designer for Visual Studio,” version 14.2. We haven’t found an earlier version of the designer available as an extension.
We’ve tried installing an earlier version of SQL Set Data Tools, but the report designer was still the same. We also haven’t found a separate download for the earlier report designer.
Is there a way to add the older report designer to VS 2017? Or do we have to downgrade to VS 2015?
(A similar problem here: Change RDL version for RDLC Reports in Visual Studio 2017)
The problems in ReportViewer that made it unusable for use were partially resolved in a later version. For example, the CSS in the ReportViewer changed the styles in the rest of the surrounding web page, which was pretty horrible (now fixed). We also saw problems of the viewer's export button drop-down list positioned far from its intended location. We had to fix that with custom JavaScript on the page.
You can include/add any RDLC created on VS 2015 to VS 2017 by click on add existing item and select the RDLC directly from your local location and will run on your VS .Add existing item
From what I can tell, ReportViewer for Visual Studio 2017 which is Version 14, is for compiling in Framework 4.5. My application is depended on 4.0 and if I switch then a bunch of other libraries need to be updated as well. I would rather get the previous version of ReportViewer 12 working, as it was working for my application without issues.
With ReportViewer Designer 14 for VS2017 installed, there is an error in the design of the page, and the application deployed and running on the server does not render the Report.
So, which way to move? Up or back...and how.
I have been using Visual Studio for ages, version after version. Lately I installed VS.2017 but every time I try to install a tool or extension things go wrong. I am using a restricted (non-admin) account as I always have.
Select Tools in the menu bar at the top
Select Extensions and Updates in the drop down menu
Try to select any from the list
When I do that I get a very informative dialog that only says "Access Denied" and nothing else. As a result I cannot install any extensions. In some cases after doing that then I cannot start VS anymore without getting "Unknown Error" which luckily I got rid of thanks to another post in SO.
Why is this happening in the new VS 2017? I never had any problem installing extensions or updates while running a Restricted User Account.
I just installed Productivity Power Tools for VS 2017 and the installer said everything was successful, I do see the location for it in Tools > Options. However when I click on it it doesn't have the option to enable/disable certain features (Custom Document Well for example).
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing with no success. The old behavior used to show the ability to enable/disable features on when you click on it. Now it just shows the output of the HTML copy tab
There are separate installers for the individual features now. The main package should be installing the parts in the background, but you can force the installation manually if needed by downloading the individual parts. The link to each individual part can be found on the page of the main installer.
The enable disable option has been removed in favor of the ability to uninstall/disable individual extensions from the tools & extensions window:
Note: The Productivity Power Tools does not install a page in Tools->Options for enabling and disabling individual Productivity Power Tools. For Visual Studio 2017, we have release all components as separate extensions. So, you can now enable and disable them through Extensions and Updates. Hence, there is no longer a need for the page in Tools->Options.
I've personally had to use the "Reset Productivity Power Tools" option from the Tools menu after the latest upgrade.
I have faced this type of problem. Just click on Reset Productivity Power Tools under Tools menu. If you have already install Productivity Power Tools.

Posting this so it may help someone.
In my case, i tried to install productivity power tools by downloading it from here and then executed downloaded .vsix file which didn't work and got an error message like "This extension is already installed to all applicable products". Thought probably had installed it before and went to search it's trace under Tools=> Options but unfortunately couldn't find anything related to this extension. Also, couldn't find options like "Reset Productivity Power Tools" under Tools menu.
Later doing this worked for me, Tools => Extensions and Updates in the left pane selected Online => Visual Studio Marketplace => Tools option and searched for Productivity Power Tools downloaded and installed from there.
In my case the installation of Productivity Power Tools failed for Visual Studio Comunity 2017, I updated the VS 2017, tried to install again the Productivity Power Tools and all worked like a charm.
Please go the following direction below:
"ReSharper/Extension >>Options >>Environment >>Keyboard & Menus >>Hide overridden VS menu items",
Could you try untick that checkbox feature once again start for "Remove and Sort Using on Save".
I'm trynig to install MVS 2017 because my previous version (2015) broke. By broke I mean it was not able to connect to the internet to check my version or something and it did not let me in. Tried googling it, found nothing.
So here I am, trying to intall MVS 2017. So far nothing but failure is being seen.
My first attempt at installing it kind of worked, it even successfuly loaded up, but had no extensions whatsoever (only Visual C++) and was unable to create any projects, the project window just kept reappearing after I finished configuring my project's settings. While installing it for the first time by the way, there were a couple of windows that popped up, they basically couldn't find the installer for Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 and some "Kits" thing.. It was something along the lines of "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Try selecting the installer from some other directory", but I could find it and clicked "Cancel".
After that I tried repairing MVS with the installer. Same two windows appeared, they still can not find their installers apparently, I clicked "Cancel" like in my first installation attempt and the MVS kept repairing itself for about an hour. Then, in my installation window it said "A restart is required. If needed, any remaining setup will resume automatically after the restart".
So I went ahead and restarted my PC and tried launching MVS. Absolutely nothing changed, there are no extensions that I checked when installing.
I tried googling my error messages and other problems and I ended up doing this:
Cleared my C:\ProgramData\Package Cache folder
Installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 manually
Changed the installation directory
Nedless to say, on my previous version of MVS I had quite a lot of extensions installed. Including the lastest version of QT, support for Unity, some other C# stuff and a buch of different extensions for C++ development.
Can somebody please give me a website where I can post my logs to or help a little with my situation.
Thank you.
