I have table name called Data. in this table have a two column Product ,QTY
Now I have created new measure for DISTINCT Value for QTY column
Distict Count Qty = CALCULATE(DISTINCTCOUNT(Data[Qty]))
Now Table looks like after added above measure
from above table I want to get count for three conditions form Distinct Count Qty measure.
if values have < 4 and if values have => 4 , if value have =12 .
this three count I want from distinct value measure .

I am struglling to getting top 25 unique customers when filtering the table using Alert_Id. Basically, I have these columns in table which you can find below. The goal is to show top 25 unique customers based on highest value. The Item can be repeated but name has to be unique. I have tried so many different things but nothing seems to be working as expected because of Multiple customers have used multiple items and hence I am getting duplicate rows. The table has to be dymic because whenever user filters the table using Alert_id it should return those top unique customers that associated with Alert_id(Alert_id is a single selection). So whenever user select their Alert_id that table should display their data. I have tried below measure,
First I created calculated column to break the tie for price because many Item shares the same price:
max price = Table[PRICE] + RAND()
Then I created another column to get max price for the customer name:
MAX column for table = CALCULATE(MAX('Table'[max price]), ALLEXCEPT(Table, Table[CUSTOMER_NAME]))
Then I created calculated table using these columns:
SELECTCOLUMNS(
FILTER(Table, Table[max price]=Table[MAX column for table]), "Name" ,Table[CUSTOMER_NAME],"Item",Table[ITEM], "PRICE",Table[MAX column for table], "Alert_ID", Table[ID], "DATE", Table[REQ_DATE], "ITEM_COUNT", Table[PK])
But, this is giving me all unique customers with the MAX value and I am getting blank table when I filter with Alert_ID even thought it has data but the customers are not with the MAX value. Basically, It's not dynamically capturing max values for each customer_name when filter is applied. And, I if there are multiple rows with same customer name which can have same exact value then I would choose any random row without considering which ITEM it is. I just want top 25 unique customers for one Alert_ID.
Here is the sample data,
Here is expected output if I select Alert_ID = 123 from filter and it can be different when I select different Alert_ID.
FYI: I have tried topn with max price and even with RANKX but no luck. I always endedup having multiple customers.
Any help or lead will be highly appreciated!
I was able to figure out how to get unique values. Here is the solution that worked for me.
First, I created calculated column with my price column and RAND function to break the ties:
sum value = Table[PRICE] + RAND()
Then, I have created one measure that calculates the rank:
rank with table = RANKX(CALCULATETABLE(VALUES('Table'[ITEM]), ALLSELECTED('Table'[ITEM])),CALCULATE(SUM(Table[sum value])), ,DESC, Dense )
Then I applied the filter on NAME column to get top 25 based on sum value calculated column. Also, dragged my measure on filters pane and applied the filter where Rank with table = 1.
That's how I got unique names with highest valued ITEM.
I am having an issue using the Distinctcount function in DAX. I have a table with a total of 1,154,493 rows. I have a measure created to count the number of distinct values in column 1. I have another measure created to count the number of distinct values in column 1 with filters. I have a 3rd and final measure created to count the number of distinct values of column 1 with different filters. The issue I am running into is the count of measure 2 + measure 3 should equal measure 1 however added together they are GREATER than the value of measure 1 which is just a grand total. How is this possible? Unfortunately I can't share the table but below is the code I am using for the two measures:
Measure1=distinctcount('Table1'[Column1])
Measure2=calculate(distinctcount('Table1'[Column1]),'Table1'[CTest] = 1,'Table1'[CTest2] = "07")
Measure3=calculate(distinctcount('Table1'[Column1]),'Table1'[CTest] = 2,'Table1'[CTest2] = "07")
I am at a loss. Thank you in advance!!
For troubleshooting you should identify values of Column1 with Measure2 and Measure3 > 0, those are being added twice.
I'm facing a challenge in power bi where I need to join Table 1 & Table 2 but the catch is Table 2 needs to be pivoted before joining.
Input:
Table 1
Table 2
Expected Output:
How to build the output table when the Table 2 rows will be increasing daily
Your desired result needs a combination of Unpivot, Merge and Pivot steps.
You can follow the following steps:
Convert the Date column to Text type.
Unpivot columns Sales in KG & Sales in Amount from Table 2 - it will create 2 columns called Attribute & Value
Merge columns Date & Attribute to create a new column (lets call it columnHeaders) - this will be in the format - 1/3/22 Sales in KG, 1/3/22 Sales in Amount ...
Merge Table 1 into Table 2 and expand the Product Name column
Now you will have 4 columns - Product Code, columnHeaders, Value, & Product Name
Pivot columnHeader using the Value column for values
You should have your desired result.
I dont know why you try to unpivot your table. Just use a Matrix visualization:
Model relationship:
Imput data + output:
sum of kg = CALCULATE(sum(Table2[Sales in kg]))
I have two tables. First one represents sales values of company by department, product ID and month. Second table contains sales target by department and month. I want to add a column to second table. It should shows sum of values from table 1 with grouping department and month.
For Example:
For 310101 in Februray sum of values is 110. So, the first row of table 2 should be 110.
Can you please help me with this DAX function?
Create a calculated column in both tables which will represent an unique ID (Eg: ID = Table1[Dpt ID] & Table1[Month]) and join the both tables by this ID field to create a relationship between these 2 tables.
Now, select all the columns from Table 2 and also select Value column from Table 1. You should get the sum by department.
I have table with millions of rows, and I need to count distinct a column, after eliminating records using a user selection , say a table or slicer..
I tried the function , values , distinct count .. none of them are working as expected .
unique opners = DISTINCTCOUNT( 'dw useraction_fact'[user_id])
I expect to get a distinct count of users acting to a project that I can select, but the distinct count is calculated for each project and it's summed up.
