I have a SharePoint list which has multiple users, is there a way that when each user opens the list they can only see the row relevant to them?
Edit the view, and add a filter:
Column: Created by
is equal to
[Me]
Then each person who looks at that view will see only the items they created. [Me] compares the column to the currently logged in username.

I have a TaskRequest model that contains a column named 'owner'. This column contains users from a group named 'owners'.
I want to have an option to select users directly from the change list view without clicking on the task name.
How can I implement a drop-down list so it is visible in the table in my TaskRequest app. Do I really need to overwrite the admin template or is another way to do that?
Ok thanks to #solarissmole I managed to achieve what I needed. In admin.py you just need to put list_editable = ("owner",).
I'm trying to make a poll results page with the results from a WFFM form. I initially took all the entered data(using AnalyticsFormsDataProvider), queried it, and then displayed the results. However, if no one votes for a particular answer, it wouldn't be in the entered data so it wouldn't show.
I want to display that the field had 0 votes, so now I'm trying to compare the possible answers to the queried list. However, I can't seem to find a way to access the values of the list items. Does anyone know the class those values are stored in and/or how to access them?
I'm using WFFM 8.1 rev. 151217 (Update-1) with MVC. It's a radio list field if that makes a difference from the other list fields.
Thanks,
You are able to get WFFM field as regular Sitecore item via standard API.
Available list items values are saved in "Parameters" and "Localized Parameters" fields. You can use Sitecore.Form.Core.Utility.ParametersUtil from Sitecore.Forms.Core to parse values saved in these fields.
This data is stored on your Radio List Field's Item in the fields Parameters and Localized Parameters.
If your code is within the Form's SaveAction or a Validator you will have access to the Field in the for AdaptedResultList args the SaveAction or via this.classAttributes["fieldid"] for the Validator. That will be enough for you to get the Radio List Item and then the Parameter fields.
If your code is not in a SaveAction / Validator I recommend passing the Form Item into your code possibly by Datasource and then retrieving the Radio List Item from that.
Finally the Items of the your Radio List field is stored in the format
<item><item>
If your radio items are actually items you will want to parse them using a regex
var regexItems = new Regex(#"<item>(.*?)</item>".ToLower());
var itemNodes = regexItems.Matches(FieldItem["Parameters"].ToLower());
Then you should be free to play with the list for your poll
I am using SharePoint access App and I have bind the left filter with Title field. By default, the list shows all the data including blank title. I want to filter the default list to show data only when title has value. I do not want to create custom action, because I want to hide this data from User.
Is there a way we can filter this data?
I found the answer:
I created a query to filter records where title is not null and updated the default view to pick records from the query.
I have an existing table called empname in my postgres database
(Projectid,empid,name,Location) as
(1,101,Raj,India),
(2,201,David,USA)
So in the app console it will have like the following
1)Projectid=Textbox
2)Ops =(view,insert,Edit)-Dropdown
Case1:
So if i write project id as 1 and select View Result:It will display all the records for Projectid =1(Here 1 record)
Case2:
If i write projectid as 3 and select insert it will ask for all the inputs like empid,name,address and based on that it will update the table .
Case3:
If i write projectid as 2 and select edit.Then it will show all the field for that id and user can edit any column and can save which will update the records in backend for the existing table
If there is not data found for the respective project id then it will display no records found
Please help me on this as I am stuck up with models
Once you have your models created, the next task should be the form models. I can identify atleast 3 form classes that you will need to create. One to display the information(case 1), another to collect information(case 2) and the last class to edit the information. Wire up the form to the views and add the urls.
A good reference could be a django a user registration form since it will have all the three cases taken care of.http://www.tangowithdjango.com/book17/chapters/login.html
I have a Django app that displays a list of rows in a table to the user. Each row maps to an entry in a database. I want to let the user select the rows they would like deleting by adding a checkbox to the end of each row and a delete button ( similar to how gmail lets you delete multiple mail messages). I can't quite figure out how to write the view in terms of finding out which rows were selected and how to map these to the IDs of the entries that need deleting from the database. A simple code snippet showing how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE:
I've found this code snippet that I think should do the trick
You can use the CheckboxSelectMultiple widget to auto-generate the corresponding HTML code so you don't have to do it manually.
You can define your form like so:
class UsersForm(forms.Form):
users = forms.MultipleChoiceField(widget=forms.CheckboxSelectMultiple, choices=[QuerySetIterator(Users.objects.all(), "", False)], label="")
Another advantage is that you also get validation for free.
Create a formset and pass can_delete = True to the constructor. Then, in the template,
{{formset}}
