Toolbar menu is closed when updates are made to UI in SwiftUI - swiftui

I've noticed a problem with the toolbar menu closing when updates are made to the UI. I made a test project to verify this is the case, and the code is shown below. Here are the steps to reproduce the issue.
Open the menu
Wait 5s before an update is made to the UI (in this case the name)
The menu will automatically close
I found this problem is directly caused by the button action code: selection = String(describing: View2.self). Here are the test cases I tried to find this out.
If I comment the selection code, then the problem doesn't exist.
To test that it isn't because it's linked to the NavigationLink, I commented the NavigationLink and uncommented the selection code, but the problem still exists.
If I replace the selection code with a simple print statement, then the problem doesn't exist.
I'm using Xcode 12.5.1. Tested on iOS 14.
How can I fix this problem?

SwiftUI extra space at top of list above section header. On testing device only

I have been trying to figure out what is causing the space at the top of the screen in my production app, so I made this test app to see if it is a bug or not. The code works as intended on a simulator but when a testing device runs the code it adds extra space. The space goes away after you start scrolling, and does not comeback until the view reloads. I have tried restarting the device and other devices. I took out .navigationTitle and .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode and it did not fix the problem. So far my best guess is that there is some problem with changing the section header in .onAppear(). Changing it to .task() seems to be a workaround for now.

In my case this behaviour was caused by .navigationViewStyle(StackNavigationViewStyle()).
Looks like it's a bug with NavigationView in SwiftUI 4 since it wasn't like this before.
If you are on iOS 16 use NavigationStack instead NavigationView. This fixed all my problems and I didn't even need to use the navigationViewStyle anymore.
NavigationView is deprecated in favor of NavigationStack.

SwiftUI navigationBarTitle not resetting to .large returning from Toolbar set to .inline

There are a few posts regarding SwiftUI .inline not resetting to .largeTitle when navigation returns to the parent:

While earlier posts seem to suggest this has been corrected, I'm running into the same problem, even in iOS 16, but I'm not using a < Back button, instead I'm using "Cancel" (and not show, "Save") on my DestinationView. My goal is to mimic Apple's practice of showing a modal view when adding data, but a show-style push on the navigation stack when viewing and editing existing data (e.g. Contacts app, Reminders app, Calendar app). The brief code below illustrates the problem without adding extra code to handle data updating (e.g. #EnviornmentObject).
When I run this in the Live Preview in Xcode 14.0.1, scheme set to iPhone 13 Pro, no problems. Click a NavLink, return from destination, and ContentView shows .large navigationBarTitle. BUT when I run in the simulator or on a 13 Pro device, returning to Home from a NavigationLink remains .inline unless I pull down on the list. If I switch to iPhone 14 Pro, the live preview looks fine, but the simulator shows a short of abrupt switch from inline back to large, not a smooth animation. Am I doing something wrong in the setup here or is there a bug in the implementation, noting that the behavior oddly holds to .inline on return home to ContentView, if I use this in either a simulator or device for iPhone 13 Pro. SwiftUI: Back button disappears when clicked on NavigationLink

I'm trying to add a NavigationLink at the top of the screen, but once I click it, it prompts me to the result and the Back button disappears.

There is some glitch IMHO, when you use both .navigationBarHidden(true) and .navigationBarTitle(Text("Some text)). If you remove the last one, back button works as usual. Nevertheless I tried to return back button in your code snippet. It still has glitch while returning to first view, but back button don't disappear. I hope it will help and you will go further from here:

How to Hide Keyboard in SwiftUI Form Containing Picker?

I have a SwiftUI Form that contains a Picker, a TextField, and a Text:

I am able to easily select the second item in the picker, as shown below:
Below, you can see that I am able to initiate text entry by tapping on the TextField:
In order to dismiss the keyboard when the Picker value is updated, a Binding was added, which can be seen in the following code block:

The following screenshot displays that selecting a different segment of the Picker dismisses the keyboard:
Up to this point, everything works as expected. However, I would like to dismiss the keyboard when tapping anywhere outside of the TextField since I am unable to figure out how to dismiss the keyboard when dragging the Form's containing scroll view.
I attempted to add the following implementation to dismiss the keyboard when tapping on the Form:

Below, the following two screenshot displays that the TextField is able to become the first responder and display the keyboard. The keyboard is then successfully dismissed when tapping outside of the TextField:
However, the keyboard will not dismiss when attempting to select a different segment of the `Picker. In fact, I cannot select a different segment, even after the keyboard has been dismissed. I presume that a different segment cannot be selected because the tap gesture attached to the form is preventing the selection.
The following screenshot shows the result of attempting to select the second value in the Picker while the keyboard is shown and the tap gesture is implemented:
What can I do to allow selections of the Picker's segments while allowing the keyboard to be dismissed when tapping outside of the TextField?

Form's tap gesture (to finish editing by tap anywhere) is enabled only if text field isEdited == true
Once isEdited == false, your picker works as before.
You could place all of your code in an VStack{ code }, add a Spacer() to it and add the onTap to this VStack. This will allow you to dismiss the keyboard by clicking anywhere on the screen.

Changing the background color of an HStack or VStack to red simplifies figuring out where the user may click to dismiss.
