I am using APEX 21.1. I have a page with interactive report. It's default link opens a modal dialog page. And I added two columns of type Link to it's query. For example,
select deptno, dname, loc, 'Open Examination Dialog' as examination_dialog, 'Open followup dialog' as followup_dialog from dept;
I need to open a page in a new tab and send it parameters when examination dialog is closed. And do the same but with different parameters when followup dialog is closed. So, I need to know which dialog is closed and based on that execute a javaScript dynamic action with code like
apex.navigation.openInNewWindow();
I tried setting static id's for examination dialog column and followup dialog and created 2 dynamic actions of type "dialog closed" and set the columns' static id's as the jQuery selector which called the dialog page. But nothing happens.
Can I know which dialog is closed and execute a dynamic action based on that?
Here is a simulation...
ws=ESLAM_WS
un= forhelp
pwd=Forhelppwd$
app=TEST2_FOR_ME
pages= 2 and 6
The IR in page 2 has a column(Link) called "open dialog". It should open page 6 which is a modal. Page 2 has a "Dialog Closed" dynamic action that should display an alert when the dialog is closed. But the dynamic action does not fire. There should be another column that opens another modal dialog which when closing too, I need to execute another dynamic action, for example, another alert.
Create 2 dynamic actions, one for each dialog page. Add this javascript expression as client side condition for the dynamic action (In addition to the standard On Dialog Closed) that should fire when page 6 is closed:
this.data && this.data.dialogPageId && this.data.dialogPageId == 6
Do the same for the 2nd dynamic action but the appropriate value for this.data.dialogPageId
In the dynamic action javascript, the this refers to the triggeringelement. Best way to look into this yourself is to execute javascript in a dynamic action true action (just for developing)
console.log(this);
You'll notice that there is an attribute dialogPageId in the data with the value of the closed window. So this condition will yield true if the dynamic action was fired on close of that specific page.

I created a pop-up page. That pop-up window has a radio button, a text box, and an execute button. I want to work that page working like... when pressing the button, run a update SQL with the values of the radio button and text box, and close itself.
I tried that answer in the following link. But the pop-up page just reloaded and the page stayed open. How to close popup window in Oracle-apex?
If possible, I would like to validate the value of the text box. If it was an incorrect value then break the process with a message. If path that validation, run a update SQL and close the pop-up window.
Thank you for your kindness for read this confusing question.
You should be using a "Close Dialog" process type after your Save Process.
Make sure that you also set the server side condition accordingly so that the dialog only closes after your save process.
I GOT RESOLVED IT!
Not use any close method, redirect util is fine work like this APEX_UTIL.REDIRECT_URL (APEX_PAGE.GET_URL(p_page => 7));
Thank you to all ppl for look this page :)
I have an apex page where I have a button "SAVE & CLOSE" . On click of that button, I first want to save the data and then close the page.
I have a PLSQL code at point "Processing" to save the data.
I have then created a Branch at Point = "After Processing" and Type ="PLSQL Procedure" and written below code to close the window.
Begin
htp.p('<script type="text/javascript" >');
htp.p('window.close();');
htp.p('</script>');
end;
I have added the button's name in server side condition : When button Pressed.
But this doesn't work. When I click on apply, it doesn't close the window. It gives me an error :
"Error: SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0 "
Can you please help me resolve this error and tell how can I close the window in button click.
Thanks,
Abha
You can use only APEX components and not write a single line of code :)
Set action for your button to "Submit page" - so all items will be submitted to use their values in processing. Image below will help you.
Now, for processing your pl/sql code use process in processing(left side on the picture).
Here you can create a new process and set type to "Close dialog" this process will automatically close the window. Without any javascript etc.. Apex is processing from top to bottom, so if you make this process last, it will always close the window after all processes are done.
You can as well set process server side condition, so it will not trigger every time.
Be careful with javascript - some web browsers are processing them in different way.
Hope it will help. Have a nice day !
Hi I got it working with other method :
Instead of type : PLSQL Procedure" select Type = "Page or URL Redirect"
and give
javascript:window.close()
in the Target.
This works.
What I did was make the page Modal. Then I added a Button called btnClosePage with a Dynamic Action (True Event) that calls "Close Dialog". I am working in Oracle Apex 20.2.
In our Siebel 7.8 (high interactivity) application, we have a form applet with a Pause / Resume custom button which does the following, depending on the current record's status:
If the status is "queued" or "active", it switches it to "paused".
If the status is "paused", it switches it back to whatever it was before.
If the status is another one ("completed", "error", etc), the button is disabled.
Is it possible to change the label dynamically? So that it would read Pause in the first case, and Resume in the second.
Off the top of my head the only way I can think of doing this would be with a browser script placed both in the Applet_Load and Applet_ChangeRecord events, something like:
var button = this.FindActiveXControl("Name Of My Button Control");
var status = this.BusComp().GetFieldValue("Status");
if (status == "paused") {
button.innerHTML = "Resume";
} else if ((status == "queued") || (status == "active")) {
button.innerHTML = "Pause";
} else {
// the button will be disabled via PreCanInvokeMethod, but we hide it too
button.style.visibility = "hidden";
}
Even if that worked (it should, but I haven't tried it)... I really hate browser scripts in Siebel, they always bring more trouble than solutions. Besides, I still would have to deal with changing the label when the button is clicked too... maybe checking the Applet_InvokeMethod browser event as well.
Is there any way of changing a button's label, based on the current record data, without coding1? All I have found searching online is this trick to change the applet label based on a calculated field, but nothing for buttons.
1: By without coding, I mean not coding the label change myself. It would be perfectly fine if I have to write a business service method to be invoked by Siebel somehow.
There are a few options potentially available:
We did something similar, but we are in a later Siebel version with Open UI. So instead of Browser Script we added code to custom Presentation Model and Physical Renderer JavaScript files. Even though you don't wish to, if you had to resort to something similar using Browser Scripts, you might prefer this over manipulating the text of one button.
I created two button controls: One that displayed Tag and the other Untag. They both call the same method. I added a flag field to the BC. (You might could do the same with a calculated field that is based on certain [Status] values.) In the JS files I put code to check that flag field and then, based on the flag field value, display one button and hide the other.
I did not start with Siebel until 8.1, so I cannot recall if this would be available in 7.8. And this only works on Order Management Applets with a class of CSSSWEFrameListHC (which is why I said "potentially available" options):
There exists an Applet User Property called Hide Control n [See Siebel Developer's Reference v7.8 -> Ch 4: User Properties -> Setting Numbered Instances of a User Property for the use of n in User Properties.]
First, create two separate controls - one that displays Pause and the other Resume. The User Property could be used something like this:
Applet User Properties
Name Value
Hide Control 'Name Of My Pause Button Control', '[Status] = "paused"'
Hide Control 1 'Name Of My Resume Button Control', '[Status] = "queued" OR [Status] = "active"'
You could possibly OR all the other [Status] values into these if you wanted to hide it and not just disable it.
Use Toggle Applets. [See Configuring Siebel eBusiness Applications v7.7 -> Ch 13: Configuring Screens and Views -> Example of Configuring Applet Toggles.]
Copy your existing Applet that has Resume, and modify that button Control in the copy to display Pause. Name the new Applet something like My Form Applet - Pause Button.
Then in Tools drill into your existing Applet, click the Applet Toggle child object, add a New Record, and make it something like this:
If you want this to toggle immediately when the [Status] changes, you'll need to set Immediate Post Changes to TRUE on the [Status] field on the BC. (This could cause performance issues, so be mindful.) Otherwise the Applet won't toggle until the record is saved.
Or you could possibly create a calculated flag field on the BC based on [Status] values, set it's Immediate Post Changes to TRUE, and base the Applet Toggle on that field.
DISCLAIMER: Other than our version of #1, I have not attempted any of these.
I have a dialog with radio button with groups of 4 buttons.
DDX_Radio(pDX, D_RADIO_GROUPLEAD, intToStore) in DoDataExchange is there for saving and loading.
It works perfectly fine.
Selection changed, DoDataExchange called, stores and loads data no problem.
Problem occurs when I hide one of the radio button (hide it via ShowWindow(SW_HIDE). Let's just call it 3rd button for reference. And previously, the selection was this 3rd button.
I have logic that will automatically select the default one (one with Group flagged as true in the editor). I call the button's SetCheck(1).
Visually everything seems to be working.
However, when I click on 2nd button, then try to call DoDataExchange (hence DDX_Radio), it will causes debug assertion failure. (dlgdata.cpp Line 286)
AND
the data is not properly populated back in intToStore.
Why could this be and how can I avoid this issue?
Thank you.
The problem is, that the auto radio button stuff in Windows skips buttons that are disabled. In detail. You click on button 2 while button 3 is selected and disabled. Button 2 gets selected but button 3 is not unchecked.
The next problem occurs when DoDataExchange runs. It doesn't check if a button is enabled or disabled. DDX_Radio just loops over all radio buttons, and it find 2 buttons in the group are enabled. This causes the ASSERT. DDX_Radio don't care if a button is enabled or disabled.
My advice: Use a custom OnClick handle by yourself, and disable all other buttons manually.
I have to automate payment gateway process for my native android application for which i have to select option from dropdowon box. After selecting an option "continue" button will be enabled.
On clicking continue button it takes me to new screen where payment details will be entered.
I'm facing following issues:
1) Not able to select drop down menu option after scrolling in the drop drown.
2) Able to select the option from first 5 options which are visible when dropdwon opens without any scrolling.after the option selection continue button has to be enabled by defalut.i am able to see that option got selected but not able to click on continue button.Script is not returning any error but i am sure it is not clicking on continue button.
Before clicking on dropdown id and class of dropdown are packagename;id/statechooser and android.widget.spinner respectively.
After click on dropdown id and class are android:id/text1 and android.widget.Textview.
Below is my code.
#entering Name
self.driver.find_element_by_id('packagename:id/name').send_keys('App Test');
self.driver.keyevent(66)
#entering address line 1
self.driver.find_element_by_id('packagename:id/address_line_1').send_keys('Madison Boulevard')
self.driver.keyevent(66)
self.driver.find_element_by_id('packagename;id/city').send_keys('Madison');
self.driver.find_element_by_id('packagename;id/zip').send_keys('25758');
self.driver.keyevent(66)(#this event for moving to dropdown)
self.driver.keyevent(66)(#this event for opening dropdown)
self.driver.find_element_by_xpath("//android.widget.TextView[#text='Alabama']").click()
self.driver.find_element_by_id('packagename:id/continue_button').click();
Finally I got solution for this. By using python wrapper for UIAUTOMATOR I am able to proceed to next page.I am using down method until the option is visible and then pressing enter to accept it instead of click method. Below is the code.
while(self.d(resourceId="android:id/text1").text!='Hawaii'):
self.d.press('down');
self.d.press('enter')
