I am having a view with two environment objects. I am displaying data from one of them, and modify data on the other one. When I change the data on the first object, another instance will be created of the second object and its data is cleared.
I created a code example that reproduce the issue, if you run this on preview, and tap on the increment button twice, you will see List is empty!
The list is only loaded on the onAppear block and this will not be called again when the view is created after the counter update.

Anyone else found this issue? How to fix it?
Issue 1 is you create the ObservedObject inside the NavigationLink with .init and then have a #StateObject declaration in the Subview ViewA(). That doesn't feel right. Create the Object with #StateObject in the parent view and pass it down.
Issue 2 is the new SwiftUI Navigation model, with NavigationLink)destination: label:) being deprecated. I adapted your code to the new navigation logic:

This way every time the user updates and closes the modal, the list will be saved.
When I press the Move button in the contextMenu, I change the isCopied and setOriginPath variables in the EnvironmentObject. When this change is made, the List view is cleared and I can't see anything on the screen. I don't have any problems when I don't use EnvironmentObject.

Really just starting out with SwiftUI and trying to get my head around MVVM.
The code below displays a height and 4 toggle buttons, thus far I have only connected 2.
Major up and Major Down.
When clicked I see in the console that the value is altered as expected.
What I don't see is the the main display updating to reflect the change.
I have tried refactoring my code to include the view model into each Struct but still not seeing the change.
I think I have covered the basics but am stumped, I'm using a single file for now but plan to move the Model and ViewModel into separate files when I have a working mockup.

At the moment you receive the setHeightViewModel in various views as a var,
you should receive it as an ObservedObject.
I suggest you try this, in ViewSetHeight
#StateObject var setHeightVM = setHeightViewModel()
and in all your other views where you pass this model, use:
#ObservedObject var viewModel: setHeightViewModel
such as in ModeArea, SwitchImperial, SwitchMetric, SelectionUp, etc...
Alternatively you could use #EnvironmentObject ... to pass the setHeightViewModel
to all views that needs it.
I'm trying to create a List and allow only one item to be selected at a time. How would I do so in a ForEach loop? I can select multiple items just fine, but the end goal is to have only one checkmark in the selected item in the List. It may not even be the proper way to handle what I'm attempting.

You'll need something to store all of the states instead of storing it per-checkmark view, because of the requirement to just have one thing checked at a time. What's happening:
There's a CheckmarkModel that has an ID for each checkbox, and the state of that box
StateManager keeps an array of those models. It also has a custom binding for each index of the array. For the getter, it just returns the state of the model at that index. For the setter, it makes a new copy of the checkbox array. Any time a checkbox is set, it unchecks all of the other boxes. I also kept your original behavior of allowing nothing to be checked
The List now gets an enumeration of the state.checkmarks -- using enumerated lets me keep your previous behavior of being able to pass an index number to the checkbox view
Inside the ForEach, the custom binding from before is created and passed to the subview
In the subview, instead of using #State, #Binding is used (this is what the custom Binding is passed to)
