WEKA is freezing after every click - weka

Whenever I click the weka option/button, weka freezes. I had not done anything but installed fresh weka 3.8.4 recently. Even when I clicked explore, it freezes.

Welcome to SO. One of the best ways to see errors occurring in Weka is to look at the "console" output. Please enter "weka with console" in the program search section. So you start Weka from console. Let's say it froze after the clicks you specified. You can now get clues about this situation by looking at the "console". Probably an exception occurs or Java installation is problematic.
As another solution, try downloading Weka with integrated java. You can find it in the link below.

It can help you understand what is happening as it will be independent of Java in your operating system. If it works, it means Java in your operating system at the root of your problem.

Visual Studio isn’t running a Hello World script - even the one that it included in the build

I’ve began to use Visual Studio, and I’m trying to make a simple hello world script. However, when i try to run the hello world script that they included, nothing shows up - except for 437 errors, all along the lines of:
cannot open source file “ctype.h”
I assume that it’s doing this for every single one of the extra files, however, I’m not too sure. I’ve been looking everywhere for help on this - so some help here would be much appreciated! Thank you :)
It seems that you couldn't install or use the windows SDK correctly. I suggest you could try to reinstall the windows sdk. Open the VS Installer window, you could click on "Individual Components", then scroll quite a ways down to get to the "SDKs, libraries and frameworks" section. In there, you could choose download and install the SDK which you want.
And then right click the project-> Properties -> General -> Windows SDK Version to set the Windows SDK.

QT OpenSource, 5.12.1, default installation does not yield qtmainid.lib

Firstly, I would not post here because I did not look up questions and answers already relating to this. I have tried the solutions, to little avail, as most questions revolved around previous versions, and were vague in some way. Below are the pages I visited:

How to build Qt for Visual Studio 2010, I have VS 2017, and the command line prompt for that doesn't recognize 'configure.exe'. This is the line of code:

Building Qt for Visual Studio 2010 - cannot open file 'qtmaind.lib', related again to VS 10, should I really work on the 2010 version? Is there a way to configure it for 2017, as it is the tool I am most familiar with?
qt cannot open input file 'c:\Qt\qt\lib\qtmaind.lib', I have no idea what QMAKESPACE is. I just started yesterday with the intent of making my semester project in it, so I do not have any professional experience with QT previously, or any kind of experience in general. The link attached to the ticked answer, https://doc.qt.io/archives/qt-4.8/supported-platforms.html, does not offer any kind of help. It just details what systems it supports. I am currently using Windows 10, version 1809.

What Is The Problem?
I watched the video by Derek Banas' series on QT ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I96uPDifZ1w&t=297s ). Here are the steps I took to set up QT:
i): Went to https://www.qt.io/download.
ii): Selected "Go Open Source", and then clicked on download
iii): Started the QT setup after download. In the packages menu, I selected
the default. This gave me QT 4.6.3.
iv): Made a new project as shown by Derek Banas.
v): Upon selecting the green arrow on the bottom left, with debug option chosen, I pressed it. It gave me the error:
LNK 1104: Cannot open file 'qtmaind.lib'
vi): Changed to release, profile, gave me this error:
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows"in "".Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
I tried reinstalling it. No use. I went here: https://www.qt.io/offline-installers, and download 5.12.1, the latest, plus the zip file in "Source Packages And Other Releases". Again performing the same as above, with the same errors.
Confused because the video did not address such an issue. Looked online. did not find much here, thus, I am here. My hypothesis:
i): This is something related to my path variables. Since both versions exhibit this issue, it means that fault is from my side, not QT's.
ii): Some windows .dll files are missing. But I do not know what files they are.
Before You Answer
Please just give me the directions I should move in to solve this issue. I do not have any idea where to go from here, but I really, really, really want to learn QT as part of my C++ learning, and I'm willing to work; I just lack the guidance.
If this is downvoted, please just send me some links which specifically address my issue so I can head over there. I would be very glad for the directions. :)

If this is of some help to anybody out there, please do not select the default button at the installation phase. Depending on your time, please go ahead and select MSVC 64 bit, MSVS < 2nd Latest Version >, and MinGW < Latest Version > 64 Bit, that shows up at the installation time. This will allow you to use a different kit that you can use to run your application with. To access this kit, go to the green button, hover over it, or click it, and there will be a kit called, desktop QT MSVC 64-bit, and then select this, and then run your program. This will run your program properly.

Visual Studio 2015 error: Unable to start debugging. Unexpected GDB output from command "-target-select remote :5039". Remote connection closed

I see the following error whenever I try to debug "Cross Platform" under "C++" category: "Unable to start debugging. Unexpected GDB output from command "-target-select remote :5039". Remote connection closed"
I've installed all of the contents when I downloaded Visual Studio 2015 community and I ran it on Windows 10 Pro which supports Hyper-V.
I've been searching a solution for this and I've found an assumption:
"What is your debug target, the VS Android Emulator? When we saw this before it turned out to be a bad emulator image. Do you have this problem with all targets (e.g. if you try a physical device) or just one?"
In my case, I just tried this via Emulator(VS Emulator 5" Lolipop (5.0) XXHDP Phone (0x86 -...)
So I've sent an Email to VS 2015.
And the answer was like this:
"Sorry for the delay in responding we were looking at an emulator image of another user that ran into this problem so I was waiting until we had the results of that investigation to report back. We actually were not able to find anything wrong the emulator itself, our current hypothesis is that it is a network or adb problem interfering with GDB’s ability to connect to GDB server on the remote machine. Do you see this error every time you try to debug, or if you reboot the emulator will it work sometimes right after the reboot? Next time you see the error, can you open the emulator’s console mode by going go the Hyper-V manager and double clicking the emulator. Then find the location your app installed to and run “gdbserver --version" from the app path and let me know what it says? This will validate if the correct version of gdbserver is on the device."
So we are trying to solve this problem but I'm also asking here just in case.
Is there anyone who has magical solution for this problem?
I'll put a comment on this if I figure out how to solve this.

** Following answer is from the manager of Visual Studio 2015:
You are only the second person who has run into this issue, and the first person that ran into it provided their everything works correctly when we run their .vhd on our machines so it appears to be some strange problem where gdbserver (which comes from the Android NDK provided by Google) crashes only when running on certain machines. Unfortunately the .vhd you provided does not appear to be the correct one it won’t boot for me. You can see the .vhd file being used by the emulator if you look under the settings of the emulator in your Hyper-V manager. .However given we got the other person’s .vhd you can hold off providing any additional information at this point. I’m waiting to hear back from the emulator team on if they have any ideas since this appears to be an issue only on specific machines since.
If you don’t mind my asking, if you don’t have a background in computers what inspired you to try C++ on Android? That scenario will be significantly more complicated than doing Java on Android.
It's been almost two months since I got this answer but I haven't got any additional response from them yet. So, I ended up quitting developing an application by using VS2015.
If you run into this problem, there are only two ways to go. Change your computer or stop developing application via VS2015.
If the project name contains spaces, the whole remote debugging fails. Visual Studio also creates weird paths. When checking out the "Blink1 for Raspberry Pi" template, I named the Project "Blink1 for Pi", which resulted in a path like this:
~/projects/Blink1?/for/pi/PI/for/pi....
And all the debugging failed. When I recreated this keeping the project name "Blink1", everything worked fine. It's a pity, that spaces aren't handled here...

autoupdate strategy for application

I have application written on C++, and I want to be able to update it like Google Chrome does:
Silently download new version from server,
replace original files and
restart app.
I also want to replace exe file, that locked as it in use now.
Couldn't find any solution for this type of autoupdate.
Maybe wxWidgets have such tools?
Or maybe you know, how to do this?
Make 2 programs. Your primary application, and a launcher. The launcher is what people should click on to start your program, and it is responsible for starting the primary application, and then can shut itself down. If you need to update while the primary application is running, you can download the updated program to a separate file, along with any other files necessary. Then the primary application can launch the launcher and shut itself down. The launcher then is responsible for deleting the old program and renaming the new one, and relaunching it.
Actually, this doesn't even have to be two different programs. It can be the same program operating in two different modes (selected through command line arguments, for example). You still need 2 copies of the executable file on disk though. Note that this is precisely what Google Chrome does.
The theory is described in the comment above. In practice, you should have a look at WinSparkle.
Package your program as an MSI file (Windows installer). Then download your new msi file and launch it. Windows installer takes care of updating your program and you can author the installer to relaunch your app.

is there a service to create and upload crash dumps for mac and win apps?

I have a cross platform desktop C++ app for Mac OSX and Windows, for which I'd like to collect debug info when a crash happens on a user's computer, so I can find out what the problem is and fix my code. On Windows I'm using visual studio express 2010 and on Mac I'm using Xcode 3 as IDE. I remember an online service where you could sign up and link your code with a library, so the app would upload crash info to the service, which you could then use to fix the app, but I can't find it anymore after googling for 10 minutes. Can anyone help?

Please see here for the google-breakpad project. I think this is what you need. I was going to use it for a project so I researched about it but then the project ended so I didn't have a chance to. You link your program with it and when the program crashes, it generates a crash dump that is not compatible with any of the platform-specific crash dump formats but has its own one. You can then analyse them with a program that is part of the breakpad project. As far as I remember, there is also a service that you can install, where the crash dumps can be uploaded. The service then can analyse and group them by reason etc.
