Finding the earliest commit date of every Pull Request - powerbi

In Power BI I have a table with the following columns (this is a simplified version of the real table):
PullRequestId | CommitId | CommitDate
I want to find the first and last date of commits made for each pull request id.
The purpose is to calculate a metric on that data (for this example the time span of the commits).
I am not sure how to achieve it (measures or columns? what is the correct DAX expression?)

If you want to get calculated table with this data to use it later, the following DAX should do it:
SUMMARIZECOLUMNS(TableName[PullRequestId], "Min Date", MIN(TableName[CommitDate]), "Max Date", MAX(TableName[CommitDate]))
If you just want to display a visual in Power BI, then the best choice would be to use Matrix visual with PullRequestId in Rows section and two CommitDate fields in Values section. Just set aggregation rule of the first one to "Earliest" and of the second one to "Latest" so you will get a table with PullRequestId and first and last commit dates. No DAX needed here.

Add customizable date range comparisons to a Power BI Table

I am trying to recreate a Tableau table view in Power BI where I can compare two customizable date ranges and show the percent differences across metrics as a calculated row.
Reference Screenshot from Tableau
In practice, my table will have 3 rows: 1 row for each time period selected and a row for the percent difference. The percent difference row is a nice to have, not a need. All my table metrics are coming from the same source.
I also need to set up two different date slicers that each row of my table will reference. I've played around a little with setting up a separate date table for the comparison period to be selected from, following this thread: Comparing Data Across Date Ranges
The challenge now is showing two separate periods in the same table.
Appreciate any guidance!

Create a pivot table in Power BI with dates instead of aggregate values?

I have a table of companies with descriptive data about where we are in the sales stage with the company, and the date we entered that specific stage. As can be seen below, the stages are rows in a Process Step column
My objective is to pivot this column so each Process Step is a column, with a date below it, as shown in excel:
I tried to edit the query and pivot the column upon loading it, but for the "aggregate value" column, no matter which column I use as the values column, it results in some form of error
My advice would be not to pivot the table in the query and use measures to get dates that you want. The benefit of not doing so is that you are able to perform all sorts of other analytics. For instance, Sankey chart would be hard to do properly with pivoted table.
To get the pivot table you are showing from Excel, it's as simple as using matrix visual in Power BI and putting Client code in rows and Process Step in Columns, then Effective date in values.
If you need to perform calculations between stages, it's also not too difficult. For instance, you can create a meausure that shows only dates at certain stages, another measure for another stage, and so on. For example:
Date uploaded = CALCULATE(MAX(Table[Effective Date]), FILTER(Table, Table[Process Step] = "Upload"))
Date exported = CALCULATE(MAX(Table[Effective Date]), FILTER(Table, Table[Process Step] = "Export"))
Time upload to export = DATEDIFF([Date uploaded], [Date exported], DAY)
These measures will work in the context of client and assuming there is only one date for the upload step (but no Process step in rows or columns). If another scenario is needed, perhaps a different approach could be taken.
Please let me know if that solves your problem.

Power BI Table w/ Slicer Where Other Columns Adjust Parameters Based Off Selection

I have the following Power BI table example for an operating expense report that uses a slicer to filter the first column named "Actual". This is to see the operating expenses for one month compared to the budget figures for the year. It also compares the year-to-date and annual figures. How can I create dynamic columns that change based on the slicer selection? These additional columns are not shown in the pic below but included in the last pic. The Budget column below was just created as an example to show what it should look like.
I set up a star schema with several tables shown below. There's only one expense fact table used and the slicer only works for the first column as previously stated but I need all the other columns to use different parameters and adjust based off what's selected in the slicer. The last image is an overview of the info and the parameters for each column. I tried creating new columns with measures for the budget to see if I can get that going but can't figure out how to make it adjust with the slicer selection.
I'm not sure if I should be using separate queries for each column or can this be done using the one expense table. Hope this isn't too confusing. Please let me know if more info is needed.
If I understood what you wanted correctly I think I solved your problem.
I was able to create the following:
I did not use all values since I did not want to type everything, if you provide some test data it is easier to replicate you dashboard.
This matrix (so not table) allows you to filter for Date (if you so desire, you can always show all date's in the matrix) Book and AccountTree.
The way this is done is by putting the address column in the ROWS for the matrix, Putting the Date column in the COLUMNS of the matrix and putting your values (actual, budget, variance) in the values of the matrix.
For the date is used days, since it was easier to type. You can always use weeks, months, quarters or years.
For this to work you have to create the following relationships:
Hope this helps.
If not, please provide test data so it is easier to try and solve your problem.

Power BI visualization of data with a Start and End date

THis is an example of what I think i need to do
I would like to ask some modeling advise I cannot solve myself:
I am using Power BI to visualize the time machinery is out of order.
The source is a register of equipment not functioning, with a start date and end date (note that there is no end date if the machine is not fixed yet).
I would like to show the time (hours, percentage, etc) that the machinery is out of order, filter for a specific period /date (e.g. month).
So I have 2 date columns: ‘’Start out of order’’ and ‘’Back in order’’
I do have a date table, which I usually would connect to all the date variables. However, since I am working with a Start and End date. This does not give the result I am looking for.
Any help is very much appreciated!
Kind regards,

I am not sure how you would like to visualise your data, but this is what I managed to do:
create a daysdiff column with
Daysbetween = IF(ISBLANK(TF_Eventos
[End out of order]);DATEDIFF(TF_Eventos[Start out of
order];TF_Eventos[TODAY];HOUR);DATEDIFF(TF_Eventos
[Start out of order];TF_Eventos[End out of order];HOUR))
This creates your column to check difference between Dates.
Then create a separate column with your Date. In this case I copied the Start out of order date, since I thought you might wanted to be able to filter for the start dates. Then simply create a relationship between your newly created Date column and your start out of order date.
Doing so lets you create a visual with the daysbetween (in this case portrayed in hours) and your start dates. Now just simply add a slicer and you can filter on date.
Hope this helps

Power BI streaming (push) dataset: How to filter for *today*, without calculated columns?

The usual way to filter a power bi visual or report to just the current day is to add a calculated column to the model with dax using the TODAY() function, and filter on that. Typical example:
TodayQ = IF(Table1[Date]=TODAY(),1,0)
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Filter-by-today-s-date/td-p/150039
With streaming push datasets, calculated columns are not available. So what's another approach to achieve a live dashboard always being filtered to the current day?
You can try applying the time filter in the Visual Level filter using "Relative date filtering" in filter type, select in Show items when the value "is in this" int the first drop down box and "day" in the second drop down and then apply filter.
