How do I replace the target in mapping designer. I have tried to delete and drag a new one there but it says it is a 'read only'
Check your mapping whether your target table defined as shortcut from sharable folder or direct definition.
You have to check out the mapping and then drag the new target. Seems to be your informatica repository is configured to handle version control. Please check out the workflow and perform the changes

Can you help me, please?
I've created a dynamic PickList and Pick Applet, but when it's displayed there is no records. I've created all joins (I join with S_CONTACT on ROW_ID to take Last and First names), pick map an specified my PickList to the field. I think i missed link between PickList and Pick Applet, but i'm not sure and i don't know how to solve it.
If you are new to Siebel, may I point out that Siebel tools has some wizards which can make things easier. To add a dynamic picklist on a field, right click on the field in Siebel tools, and choose 'Add Picklist'. Then follow the onscreen instructions, which will also help configure a pick applet. Try re-creating the dynamic picklist using this wizard.
If you do not want to try this, you will have to spool the sql logs to get sql which could point to the issue. It could be a searhspec issue on the picklist/picklist bus comp/pick applet. It could even be a buscomp visibility issue (salesrep, org). Also check the pop-up visibility for the buscomps, and see if there are any other constrains on the pickmap.
The mistake was in defining Business Component: i was looking throught the same on for field and picklist.
I have a requirement to remove some Global Tool Bar Item such as Apply Target List and Save Target List on Siebel CRM. Other Toolbar such as sitemap and query should stay.
But I cant figure the configuration. I have tried the following Object Definitions
1. Menu
2. Toolbar
3. Class.
I can't find Apply target list and Save Target List.
Although I did find apply target list and save target list under
Menu> Generic Web> Menu Items object definition.
I inactivated and compiled.
But the two Icons still appear on the Global tool bar.
Under Toolbar->HIMain-> ApplyTargetList & SaveTargetList are items. Did you try disabling them ?
Also , please look under Class [CSSSWEFrameList]
If you still cannot remove the Items and are using OpenUI, it could be possible to add a simple CSS rule to hide the entry in the menu list.
I am new to Informatica and I am trying to learn it bit by bit.Currently I am able to enable the repository services but nothing works after I get connected. As in the transformation icons do not get highlighted when I open the mapping designer. Please find the attached screen-shot. Let me know if any questions. Thank you.
You opened the Mapping Designer and connected to a folder but there is no mapping loaded - create a new mapping or open an existing one and transformations toolbar will become active.
You should have required permission to create source, target, mappings, transformations etc. Icons will be enables only when you have sufficient permission.
Can think of two possibilities,
you have disabled the toolbar...try right clicking in the toolbar area, and switch it on...
you might not have "Opened" the folder. Clicking the plus sign around the folder is not the same as right click -> open for a folder. Unless you open the folder, the areas for source analyzer etc, dont really open up for you..
I have packaged an XSLT export filter for OpenOffice as per the instructions on this page:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Filter_extensions
It works fine; but in order to be used, the user has to select the command 'File/Save as' then choose the correct file extension that triggers the use of the filter, and a target file name.
I would like to let the users launch the filter by using either a menu item or a toolbar button, without asking them for anything (the target file name is defined within the transformation).
What is the best way to do that and packaging it in the same extension as the filter?
Well after much fruitless searching and asking, it turns out the best trick is to write a macro that launches the filter, and associate that macro with a button; the macro and the button can be packaged in the same extension as the filter.
How do I update the factory layout templates in Proficy Change Management (i.e. where are they located when checked out?). e.g. generic.htm?
Procedure:
Open Proficy Change Management
Check out the desired factory layout
Open Explorer (Win-E) and go to C:\fx\fxLayout\FactoryLayoutName
Make your changes (edit, create, etc.)
Publish and check in the factory layout
The path will vary based on your configuration but it is likely to be similar to what's noted above. Any files you change or add to that folder will be captured when you publish or check in.
