Button disappearing when in an HStack with a ScrollView - swiftui

When I create either an HStack or VStack that contains a Button and a ScrollView, the button doesn't appear. A space is made to the size of the button, but it is not visible. However, it does appear if I add that same button inside the scroll view (which isn't what I want). Is anyone else experiencing this?
Below is the code (I haven't implemented an action yet for the button)
struct CardView: View {
var body: some View {
HStack(spacing: 12) {
OptionsButton()
ScrollView(.horizontal) {
HStack {
OptionsButton()
OptionsButton()
OptionsButton()
OptionsButton()
OptionsButton()
OptionsButton()
OptionsButton()
OptionsButton()
}
}
}
}
struct OptionsButton: View {
var body: some View {
Button(action: { }) {
Image(systemName: "ellipsis")
.font(.system(size: 16, weight: .medium))
.frame(width: 30, height: 30)
.background(Color.gray)
.foregroundColor(Color.white)
.clipShape(Circle())
}
}
}

Problem implementing scrollTo in SwiftUI using Slider and Button

I'm trying to reposition a list using scrollTo with a Slider and Button and have 2 problems. The list has Sections with id's and nested Texts below, so the scrolling (by Slider or Button) is to the Section heads only.
Here are the problems:
Slider works fine except that the animation briefly shows the list at the top (you can see the navigationTitle go to full size) before it scrolls to the desired position correctly.
The Button moves the Slider but appears to not find the id's in the Section, so it doesn't reposition to the right Section.
Anyone have any ideas?

SwiftUI: Custom label in navigation link is greyed out

I'm trying to use my custom card view as label to navigation link. this navigation link is also a Grid item.
The result is a
My Card Code:
struct CityCard: View {
var cityData: CityData
var body: some View {
VStack {
Text("\(cityData.name)")
.padding([.top], 10)
Spacer()
Image(systemName: cityData.forecastIcon)
.resizable()
.frame(width: 45, height: 45)
Spacer()
HStack(alignment: .bottom) {
Text(String(format: "%.2f $", cityData.rate))
.padding([.leading, .bottom], 10)
Spacer()
Text(String(format: "%.2f °", cityData.degrees))
.padding([.trailing, .bottom], 10)
}
}.frame(width: 150, height: 150)
.background(Color.blue)
.cornerRadius(10)
.navigationTitle(cityData.name)
}
}
My List View:
struct CityList: View {
var cities: [CityData]
let columns = [
GridItem(.flexible(minimum: 150, maximum: 150)),
GridItem(.flexible(minimum: 150, maximum: 150))
]
var body: some View {
ScrollView {
LazyVGrid(columns: columns, spacing: 20) {
ForEach(self.cities) { item in
NavigationLink(destination: Text(item.name), label: {
CityCard(cityData: item)
})
}
}
}
}
}
someone has a solution why it gives me this opacity?
Update:
The main contact view is:
It's greyed out because you don't yet have a NavigationView in your view hierarchy, which makes it possible to actually navigate to a new view.
You can, for example, wrap your ScrollView in a NavigationView:
var body: some View {
NavigationView {
ScrollView {
LazyVGrid(columns: columns, spacing: 20) {
ForEach(self.cities) { item in
NavigationLink(destination: Text(item.name), label: {
CityCard(cityData: item)
})
}
}
}
}
}
Or, if it's only happening in your preview, add a NavigationView to your preview code:
NavigationView {
CityList(...)
}
Keep in mind that if you have the default accent color (blue, in light mode) that your links will become invisible (since they will be blue) on top of the blue background. You can set a custom accent color in your project or via the accentColor modifier:
NavigationView {
//content
}.accentColor(.black)

SwiftUI 2.0: Close button is not dismissing the view - how do I get the Close button to return to the previous view?

I have tried to use Buttons and Navigation Links from various examples when researched on this channel and on the net. The NavigationLink would be ok, except that the NavigationView is pushing everything down in my view.
I have a view that contains an image and a text like this: ( x Close) but when I use the code below, the Close button is not doing anything.
In ContentView() I have a (?) button that takes me from WalkthroughView(), then to the PageTabView, then to this view, TabDetailsView:
ContentView():
ZStack {
NavigationView {
VStack {
Text("Hello World")
.padding()
.font(.title)
.background(Color.red)
.foregroundColor(.white)
}
.toolbar {
ToolbarItem(placement: .navigationBarLeading) {
Button {
withAnimation {
showOnBoarding = true
}
} label: {
Image(systemName: "questionmark.circle.fill")
}
}
}
}
.accentColor(.red)
.disabled(showOnBoarding)
.blur(radius: showOnBoarding ? 3.0 : 0)
if showOnBoarding {
WalkthroughView(isWalkthroughViewShowing: $isWalkthroughViewShowing)
}
}
.onAppear {
if !isWalkthroughViewShowing {
DispatchQueue.main.asyncAfter(deadline: .now() + 2) {
withAnimation {
showOnBoarding.toggle()
isWalkthroughViewShowing = true
}
}
}
}
WalkthroughView():
var body: some View {
ZStack {
GradientView()
VStack {
PageTabView(selection: $selection)
// shows Previous/Next buttons only
ButtonsView(selection: $selection)
}
}
.transition(.move(edge: .bottom))
}
PageTabView():
var body: some View {
TabView(selection: $selection) {
ForEach(tabs.indices, id: \.self) { index in
TabDetailsView(index: index)
}
}
.tabViewStyle(PageTabViewStyle())
}
below, is the TabDetailsView():
At the top of the view is this Close button, when pressed, should send me back to ContentView, but nothing is happening.
struct TabDetailsView: View {
#Environment(\.presentationMode) var presentationMode: Binding<PresentationMode>
let index: Int
then, inside the body:
VStack(alignment: .leading) {
Spacer()
VStack(alignment: .leading) {
// Button to close each walkthrough page...
Button(action: {
self.presentationMode.wrappedValue.dismiss()
}) {
Image(systemName: "xmark.circle.fill")
Text("Close")
}
.padding(.leading)
.font(.title2)
.accentColor(.orange)
Spacer()
VStack {
Spacer()
Image(tabs[index].image)
.resizable()
.aspectRatio(contentMode: .fit)
.frame(width: 415)
.padding(.leading, 10)
Text(tabs[index].title)
.font(.title)
.bold()
Text(tabs[index].text)
.padding()
Spacer()
}
.foregroundColor(.white)
}
}
if showOnBoarding {
WalkthroughView(isWalkthroughViewShowing: $isWalkthroughViewShowing)
}
Inserting view like above is not a presentation in standard meaning, that's why provided code does not work.
As this view is shown via showOnBoarding it should be hidden also via showOnBoarding, thus the solution is to pass binding to this state into view where it will be toggled back.
Due to deep hierarchy the most appropriate way is to use custom environment value. For simplicity let's use ResetDefault from https://stackoverflow.com/a/61847419/12299030 (you can rename it in your code)
So required modifications:
if showOnBoarding {
WalkthroughView(isWalkthroughViewShowing: $isWalkthroughViewShowing)
.environment(\.resetDefault, $showOnBoarding)
}
and in child view
struct TabDetailsView: View {
#Environment(\.resetDefault) var showOnBoarding
// .. other code
Button(action: {
self.showOnBoarding.wrappedValue.toggle()
}) {
Image(systemName: "xmark.circle.fill")
Text("Close")
}

SwiftUI Question: Place text underneath(outside) of list view

I am trying to place this information underneath my list. I don't want it to be included in the list but rather it should be displayed on the view background. Sort of like the old settings in iOS 6. I've tried placing my code snippets in different spots and removing stacks snd even changing what stacks I'm using and I cant figure it out. Heres my code and I attached a screenshot https://i.stack.imgur.com/PcUgJ.png for reference. Thank you to anyone who can help my noob self.
My Code:
import SwiftUI
struct SettingsAboutView: View {
var body: some View {
List{
//Top Section
Section {
HStack(spacing: 30) {
Spacer()
ZStack {
Rectangle()
.frame(width: 50, height: 50)
.clipShape(Rectangle())
.shadow(radius: 2)
.foregroundColor(Color("PineGlade"))
Image(systemName: "leaf.arrow.circlepath")
.resizable()
.frame(width: 25, height: 25)
.clipShape(Rectangle())
.foregroundColor(.white)
}.cornerRadius(10)
VStack(alignment: .leading) {
Text("Gardn")
.font(.system(size: 32))
.fontWeight(.bold)
.foregroundColor(Color("ShipsOfficer"))
Text("OnlyOdds.co Labs")
.font(.system(size: 13))
.fontWeight(.medium)
.foregroundColor(Color("ShipsOfficer"))
}
Spacer()
}.padding()
NavigationLink(destination: SettingsPrivacyView()) {
Button(action: {
print("Privacy Settings")
}) {
SettingsCell(title: "Privacy", imgName: "eye.slash", clr: Color("PineGlade"))
}
}
NavigationLink(destination: SettingsNotificationsView()) {
Button(action: {
print("Notification Settings")
}) {
SettingsCell(title: "Notifications", imgName: "bell", clr: Color("PineGlade"))
}
}
}
//Technical Info
HStack(spacing: 62) {
Spacer()
Text("V \(UIApplication.appVersion!)")
.font(.system(size: 14))
.fontWeight(.light)
.foregroundColor(Color("ShipsOfficer"))
.opacity(0.5)
Text("Build \(UIApplication.appBuild!)")
.font(.system(size: 14))
.fontWeight(.light)
.foregroundColor(Color("ShipsOfficer"))
.opacity(0.5)
Spacer()
}
}.listStyle(GroupedListStyle())
.environment(\.horizontalSizeClass, .regular)
.navigationBarTitle("Settings", displayMode: .inline)
}
}
struct SettingsAboutView_Previews: PreviewProvider {
static var previews: some View {
SettingsAboutView()
}
}
extension UIApplication {
static var appVersion: String? {
return Bundle.main.object(forInfoDictionaryKey: "CFBundleShortVersionString") as? String
}
}
extension UIApplication {
static var appBuild: String? {
return Bundle.main.object(forInfoDictionaryKey: "CFBundleVersion") as? String
}
}
What you are looking for is a Footer. The Section View takes Footer as ViewBuilder as argument.
Section(footer: Text("Your footer text")) {
//Your Content here
}
You can pass Text() or create your own custom view.
Just put the List in a VStack and put
Text(yourtext)
Under the list

How to select checkbox button and NavigationLink to another view independently in SwiftUI List row

I hope to make a list just like to-do list, the cell has a checkbox and Text. And I want when list cell selected, the view could be translate to detailView. Meanwhile I also could select the checkbox, but don't trigger the view translate to the detailView.
I removed the List{}, the code run ok, but the List property and method can't use any more. So I plan to code a customer list view. But I don't think it will be the good method. So if I still can't find a good way to make it, I may implement in this way at last.
NavigationView {
VStack {
List {
ForEach(todayDietModel.todayDietItems) { item in
NavigationLink(destination: DietItemDetailView()) {
TodayDietRow(todayDietItem: item)
.animation(.spring())
}
}
}
}
.frame(width: 352, height: 400)
.background(Color.white)
.cornerRadius(16)
}
struct TodayDietRow: View {
#State var isFinished: Bool = false
var body: some View {
HStack(spacing: 20.0) {
Button(action: {self.isFinished.toggle()}) {
if self.isFinished {
Image("icon_checked_s001")
.resizable()
.renderingMode(.original)
.aspectRatio(contentMode: .fit)
.frame(width: 24, height: 24)
} else {
Image("icon_unchecked_s001")
.resizable()
.frame(width: 24, height: 24)
}
}
.padding(.leading, 10)
Text("DietName")
.font(.system(size:13))
.fontWeight(.medium)
.foregroundColor(Color.black)
}
.frame(width: 327, height: 48)
}
}
This works quite well with a gesture on the checkbox image. Two Buttons didn't work since every tap went to both buttons.
struct TodayTodoView2: View {
#ObservedObject var todayDietModel = TodayDietModel()
func image(for state: Bool) -> Image {
return state ? Image(systemName: "checkmark.circle") : Image(systemName: "circle")
}
var body: some View {
NavigationView {
VStack {
List {
ForEach($todayDietModel.todayDietItems) { (item: Binding<TodayDietItem>) in
HStack{
self.image(for: item.value.isFinished).onTapGesture {
item.value.isFinished.toggle()
}
NavigationLink(destination: DietItemDetailView2(item: item)) {
Text("DietNamee \(item.value.dietName)")
.font(.system(size:13))
.fontWeight(.medium)
.foregroundColor(Color.black)
}
}
}
}
.background(Color.white)
}
}
}
}
