I am new to postman and I have some 200 services to automate. Now for every service I need to save some values and retrive in other services. Now can I do it by saving and retriving from environment variables.
Is there any other option other than saving in environment variable ? Like at collection level itself ? Also the environment list looks big if I start to save the values in them ?
Looking for different options ?
You can define collection variables
Click ellipsis (...) next to the collection name, and select “Edit” to
open the EDIT COLLECTION modal. Select the Variables tab to add and
edit collection variables
Using code:
pm.collectionVariables.set("variable_key", "variable_value");
pm.collectionVariables.get("variable_key");

I cannot find a way to do this in the UI: I'd like to have distinct query tabs in the BigQuery's UI attached to the same session (i.e. so they share the same ##session_id and _SESSION variables). For example, I'd like to create a temporary table (session-scoped) in one tab, then in a separate query tab be able to refer to that temp table.
As far as I can tell, when I put a query tab in Session Mode, it always creates a new session, which is precisely what I don't want :-\
Is this doable in BQ's UI?
There is 3rd party IDE for BigQuery supporting such a feature (namely: joining Tab(s) into existing session)
This is Goliath - part of Potens.io Suite available at Marketplace.
Let's see how it works there:
Step 1 - create Tab with new session and run some query to actually initiate session
Step 2 - create new Tab(s) and join to existing session (either using session_id or just simply respective Tab Name
So, now both Tabs(Tab 2 and Tab 3) share same session with all expected perks
You can add as many Tabs to that session as you want to comfortably organize your workspace
And, as you can see Tabs that belong to same session are colored in user defined color so easy to navigate between them
Note: Another tool in this suite is Magnus - Workflow Automator. Supports all BigQuery, Cloud Storage and most of Google APIs as well as multiple simple utility type Tasks like BigQuery Task, Export to Storage Task, Loop Task and many many more along with advanced scheduling, triggering, etc. Supports GitHub as a source control as well
Disclosure: I am GDE for Google Cloud and creator of those tools and leader on Potens team
I am creating power bi reports in which I am showing table which will contain product list. I am creating custom column for url. I want to set it in any configuration or global setting so that I can set different domain for each environment similar to connection string we use.
we can set domain in parameter and later change in parameter setting. To achieve this we need to follow below steps:
Go to dataset and click on transform data
Click on manager parameter and add new parameter
Select type as text assign name
Once added add add column tab and user your parameter name to embed in column value
Once you publish you will be able to edit it for each environment you configure and will not change on publish
Please refer this video if more clarity required
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeeiSFdWCrY&t=172s&ab_channel=Curbal
That's pretty straight forward:
environment = "http://www.development.com/'
and then
table[url] = environment & table[connect]
Am new to Microsoft Lists and trying to implement the library management system. Have prepared a list to show the book details using the 'From Excel' list. Need to restrict the permission based on the user role(admin, client).
For example, If a user needs to request a book, there might be a column to access for the user to send a request for the desired book. So that, an admin will get notified for the request and take action.
Similarly, from the list i created, i need to provide permission to the user to access only one column. The rest of the column can only be for view purposes.
Note: As i searched i found we can set permission like view, view, and edit, and stop sharing the list based on the roles of Members, Owners, and Visitors.
Could anyone please guide me on this?
Regards,
Vadivel
#Karthi,
It's not possible to configure column permission, the least permission is item-level. There is no column-level or view level permission.
Here are 2 possible solutions:
Make the target column read-only. Then develop another interface for the administrator to manage the data. For example, through SharePoint rest API, we can turn the column back to editable and post updates then immediately turn it to read-only.
Check Set List Column Read Only in SharePoint using PowerShell
How to update read only field
Hide the target column and make a calculated column then set its value equal to the target column. The user will only see those calculated columns, any updates on the target column will be reflected in calculated columns.
Check Make SharePoint Columns read-only without coding
I am trying to set a default selected item in a semantic-ui-react dropdown. If I select an item from the dropdown, when I reopen the dropdown it opens on the correct item. However, this item is persisted, and when I refresh the page, the correct items are displayed on the dropdown, but it does not open on the correct item.
Please advise.
Matt, it sounds like you are only using the internal component state. Whatever your components initialize with, they will always start that same way. Your entire React application works this way. If you are expecting your data to be persistent, it needs to be stored somewhere. When you refresh you are starting over again. If the state of your application is not being put elsewhere, you lose that state every single time you refresh because the only copy of state is in your client browser.
Basically you currently only have a frontend application that is not storing data anywhere. Depending on your needs, you could do this in a lot of different ways. A REST API. A GraphQL API. One simple way to accomplish this if you are just creating a simple website would be to use a headless CMS. That will give you a database to store your application data. There are a lot of interesting ones out there that you can explore based on your needs.
Does anyone know to keep the state in an apex page when I go to another page and return?. It doesn't keep the values entered in the fields, it appears all empty. I appreciate anyone can help. Thanks
What is your ApEx version ?
By default, when you submit a page, item values are automatically set in session state, so you should find them again when you go back to the page.
Be aware that Firefox retain form element values on page refresh, so displayed values may not correspond to values that are really in session state... A solution is to set the «Form Auto Complete» attribute to "Off" in your page security attributes, or use $('#wwvFlowForm').attr('autocomplete','off'); on page load.
If you want to set a value into session state manually without submitting the page :
from PL/SQL, you can use APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE (see documentation)
from JavaScript, you have to call a dummy application process, like :
setItemInSessionState: function(p_item, p_value) {
var l_get = new htmldb_Get(null,$('#pFlowId').val(),'APPLICATION_PROCESS=dummy',0);
l_get.add(p_item, p_value);
l_get.get();
}
Finally you can choose to maintain session state per session, or for a user across sessions, by changing «Maintain session state» attribute in the source tab of your item. And if your data is sensitive, you can set «Session State Protection» attribute to "Yes" for your item.
There are a lot of other solutions to keep item values between pages : passing values in the URL into hidden items, apex collections, basic database storage, cookies, etc.
If this does not answer your question, you might give more details.
Maybe you should use session in order to save the inputs and then when the client returns to that page, you will just put the data you have stored in the sessions.
