I have a 32bit Application to Install on Win10 (x64 OS). All my Oracle functionality works from within the debugger. Oracle.ManagedAccess driver is correctly registered in the VS Projects and the application works as expected from within the debugger. However, when I build my WiX-Based install pack and run the installed application I get the following error:
What am I missing here? In the previous VS2013 incarnation of the code as recently as last month using the ODP.NET driver 'Oracle.DataAcess', the application worked fine when installed. I'm at a loss as to where else to take this. Any assistance most welcome.
Based on input from Stein Asmul, I jave resolved the problem. Solution simply involved including the Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.ddl in the product.wxs depositing the file in the application folder solved the problem.

I’ve read through several questions similar to this. I’ve tried installing the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2022 for both x86 and x64 from here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170. I’ve tried loading biddll.dll from another folder but it gives the message “Module was built without symbols.”. I’ve run “sfc /scannow” for broken files. The issue persists. biddll.dll still seems to not be anywhere in the system files or the API files. The only version is the one I copied from another version of the project.
Thanks for your suggestions. I uninstalled TWS API and reinstalled it. I made sure to build for Release. It sounds like there was a mismatch between some debug libraries and it started pulling them instead. There may have been some unexpected behavior from installing several versions while troubleshooting as well.
I'm working on an AIR app that uses a Native Extension for windows that I developed for the same project. The app calls an ANE method called pingFunction and passes it a String containing the IP address where the pingFunction will perform, believe it or not, a ping test.
The application and it's ANE work great on Flash Builder and even after making it a release, they keep working like a charm on the development PC. The problem is that I've tried on two other computers and the application is throwing the following error:
ArgumentError: Error #3500: The extension context does not have a method with the name pingFunction.

At the beggining I thought I had to do with the fact that I was using a DLL I compiled using the Debug configuration on Visual Studio instead of the Release configuration, because I read that sometimes the a debug-version of a DLL can use external DLLs. So, I changed it and rebuilt the whole library as a release build. Sadly for me, I'm still experiencing the same result.
Also, I tried changing the swf-version of both the AIR app and the ANE to the AIR SDK version I'm using (14.0), and got again the same error.
The development computer is running Windows 8.1 and the others, where the app is not working, Windows 7 and Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
Any ideas about why this is happening? Any questions or comments that might lead me to the right track will be deeply appreciated.
Error#3500 is coming because you don't have the required runtime installed on those machines, which is necessary to execute any c++ code .
On your development machine you have visual studio installed and hence you also have msvcr.
Solution of the problem is:
Install msvcr i.e. Microsoft Visual c++ redistribution - 2012 from here.
you need msvcr anywhere you want to run any VS compiled c++ code.
i'm trying to create an installer for my opencv project. The Projects runs just fine, no error while compiling or at runtime.
And i need the program to run on other machines as well, so i thought of making an installer. I've read that MS VS 2013 has discontinued the Deployment tool and so i am using InstallShied Limited.
I'm setting everything according to their tutorial and i am adding the opencv libs, it builds and i can install my application. But as soon as install it on other machine i get the following errer message:
The procedure entry point _except1 could not be located in the dynamic link library opencv_imgproc.dll
I also get this error if i just copy the dll files to another machine along with the exe file. Does this mean, that the dlls are not compatible with the system? i am using windows 8.1 on both machines. and its also weird that it runs when i build it from VS.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Solution: i had the 64bit dlls included and runnning on 32bit. The 32 Bit dlls are in vc10
I am using Win7 and db2 express. I have successfully compiled and used the db2 drivers on one of my machines, but when trying to use it on another computer that does not have db2 installed the driver won't run and return an empty string as an error.
Just to make sure I copied everything from ibm/sqllib/bin to a directory that can be found on the computer I use for deployment and dependency walker confirms that indeed the qsqldb2 driver can find the libraries inside that directory.
Yet the problem remains and my app won't run properly, any ideas on how to solve this error?
I am yet not sure if this classifies as an answer or not but, even though in my development machine it worked fine with the libraries inside ibm/sqllib/bin. The way I made it work on my deployment machine is by instead providing it with the libraries coming with the clidriver.

background: I work on Fortran code that use a few c++ libs that I don't have access to the code of. These were apparently built using VS2008, and this error has only started to occur since my machine had to be rebooted and I asked IT not to install VS2008 in addition to VS2012. I know that installing VS2008 will fix the problem, but that is not a good soultion.
The error is: unable to start program 'C:\blah\blah\blah.exe'. This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Review the manifest file for possible errors. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. For more details, please see the application event log. The application event log tells me the same things listed in the first link posted.
Originally I was getting the problem so I looked up these articles and I went and installed the correct version of the VC C++ redist package (it is version 9.0.21022.8 for x86 source:the manifest file for the project). I originally installed the 64 bit, quickly determined I needed the 32 bit version and then installed that one.
