When I run the Maven Lifecycle item test:
… I see this:
…which does tell me tests ran and some failed, but that is all it tells me. I expected to see a helpful window pane dedicated to JUnit 5 results handling as documented in Viewing and Exploring Test Results, and as shown in this screenshot taken from the documentation:
➥ How can I make IntelliJ show more helpful results of running unit tests as the documentation promises?
The screenshots you posted represent are 2 different kinds of "executions" (for a lack of a better term). The first screenshot shows a Maven test execution, while the second displays an IJ unit-test config execution.
From your description you want the latter, and there are a few ways to achieve it, but the main idea is that you need to create/execute an IJ "Run/Debug Configuration", not a maven goal. I suppose IJ will register some sort of internal test listeners to capture the execution and results when executing a "Run configuration", but not when executing the Maven "test" goal.
Here are some of your options (these are also described in the same "Testing" section as your "Viewing and Exploring Test Results" link, just above it):
In the "Project" pane, context-click your module. Select the desired menu item.(The "Run/Debug" items will automatically create your run configuration [see point 2 below], so depending on your setup you may have to make minor adjustments.)
from the "Run/Debug configs" dropdown, select "Edit configurations" (or SHIFT + ALT + F10), and create your new JUnit/TestNg/etc configuration
From within a test class, click on the gutter icon next to the class name (or CTRL + SHIFT + F10)
From within a class press CTRL + SHIFT + T to list the matching test classes (or to create new ones), select the ones that you want and then CTRL + SHIFT + F10 to run them.
Tip: If you want to run your tests only through your "Run/Debug" configuration, and not as part of your Maven goals, you can disable the testing goal in Maven. Simply click the blue-lightning-bolt icon named “Toggle "Skip Tests" Mode” in the button bar of the "Maven" pane. This toggles running or not-running your Maven goal named test. Notice the label for test appears with strike-through text when toggled off. When toggled off, operations such as a Maven install will not run the tests.

I have made an initial custom plugin for CKEditor, but it's not obvious from the CKEditor documentation what is the best way to structure a custom plugin project or how to add unit tests.
I want to set up the project so that it follows good practices (like Test Driven Development) as I keep developing it, and possibly add it into a CI/CD pipeline.
Current setup
My custom plugin adds subject tags for the topic of a sentence.
I based it on the inline widget tutorial (which creates a Classic Editor v29 application with a local custom plugin added in) - https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor5/latest/framework/guides/tutorials/implementing-an-inline-widget.html
|---app.js
|---index.html
|---node_modules/
|---package.json
|---subject/
|---|---subject.js
|---|---subjectcommand.js
|---|---subjectediting.js
|---|---subjectui.js
|---webpack.config.js
Test suite
The CKEditor Testing Environment documentation says that the #ckeditor/ckeditor5-dev-tests package can be used outside ckeditor5 - https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor5/latest/framework/guides/contributing/testing-environment.html
So I rearranged the plugin directories to separate out src and tests:
|---app.js
|---index.html
|---node_modules/
|---package.json
|---subject/
|---|---src/
|---|---|---subject.js
|---|---|---subjectcommand.js
|---|---|---subjectediting.js
|---|---|---subjectui.js
|---|---tests/
|---|---|---subject.js
|---webpack.config.js
Then ran the test suite:
node ./node_modules/.bin/ckeditor5-dev-tests --files=*
But it looks like the ckeditor5-dev-tests package might only test plugins that are part of the CKEditor software (e.g. when you are contributing to the CKEditor project itself). All the --files option glob conversions map to node_modules/ckeditor5-* See: https://github.com/ckeditor/ckeditor5-dev/tree/master/packages/ckeditor5-dev-tests#rules-for-converting---files-option-to-glob-pattern
Question
I'm not sure if I'm using the testing suite wrong, or if I am taking the wrong approach in the project structure - maybe the project should just be for the plugin by itself (without app.js, etc.), then add it to the Classic Editor later somehow?
I have a suite which has 50 test cases. When I execute my suite, I get all the failed screenshots listed in the project's folder. I want to point and store those screenshots to a different directory with the name of the test case. I wanted it to be a one time setup than doing it explicitly for every test cases.
There's quite a few ways to change the screenshots default directory.
One way is to set the screenshot_root_directory argument when importing Selenium2Library. See the importing section of Selenium2Library's documentation, and importing libraries in the user guide.
Another way is to use the Set Screenshot Directory keyword, which will do pretty much the same thing as specifying a path when importing the library. Though, using this keyword you can set the path to a new one whenever you like. For example, you could make it so that each test case could have it's own screenshot directory using this keyword. According to your question, this may be the best solution.
And finally, you may also post-process screenshots using an external tool, or even a listener, that would move all screenshots to another directory. Previously mentioned solutions are in most cases much better, but you still may want to do this in some cases, where say, the directory where you want screenshots to be saved would be created only after the tests have finished executing.
I suggest you to do the follow:
For new directory, you should put the following immediately after where you open a browser such:
Open Browser ${URL} chrome
Set screenshot directory ${OUTPUT FILE}${/}..${/}${TEST_NAME}${/}
For replace the screenshot name from the default to your own name, create the following keyword:
sc
Capture page screenshot filename=${SUITE_NAME}-{index}.png
Then, create another keyword and run it on Setup's test case:
Register Keyword To Run On Failure sc
In the above example, I created a new folder with the test case name, which create a screenshot (in case of failure) with the name of suite project name (instead of 'selenium-screenshot-1.png').
Currently, all my angular material HTML attributes are highlighted in yellow with WebStorm 9 (Mac OS X Yosemite) warning: "Attribute [name] is not allowed here".
How can I teach WS to automatically recognize these attributes as valid? I am aware that I can add each one one-by-one to the list of custom attributes, but was hoping that there would be a better way to do this.
UPDATE:
Just wanted to clarify that this issue applies to Angular Material project, and not the AngularJS itself.
You need to add the angular-material.js file as a Library in WebStorm:
Open Preferences (Mac: Cmd+,, Win/Linux: Ctrl+Alt+S)
Go to Languages & Frameworks > JavaScript > Libraries
Click Add and then press the + icon
Find angular-material.js in your node_modules folder
Add a Name and a version and press Ok
Now you will have completions for all elements and attributes that have an #ngdoc documentation in the angular-material source code.
Usage
Start typing and you will see the completions:
Pressing F1 (Ctrl+Q on Win/Linux) will also show some docs, if available in the source code:
Important note
Not all features are properly documented, the following won't show up (unless you already used them) cause they are defined dynamically in a loop, with no #ngdoc for them:
var API_WITH_VALUES = [ "layout", "flex", "flex-order", "flex-offset", "layout-align" ];
var API_NO_VALUES = [ "show", "hide", "layout-padding", "layout-margin" ];
So for these you'd have to add them as a custom attribute (Alt+Enter > "Add flex to custom html attributes").
Environment
Tested on a Mac OS X 10.11.4 using WebStorm 2016.1.1, but this should work for older versions as well.
I am using PHPStorm, which is a sister Project of WebStorm, but it should work the same way.
You maybe need to add the Library:
File
Settings
Languages & Frameworks
Javascript
Librarys
Add here AngularJS
If this does not work, you can add them manually:
Follow this Steps:
File
Default Settings
Editor
Inspection
HTML
Unknown HTML tag attributes
To the right you will see in Options "Custom HTML tag attributes". Enter here the attributes you want to allow.
I highly recomend you to install the Angular.js plugin:
Go to menu File > Settings (or ctrl + alt + S if you're on Windows);
Select Plugins in the window that'll open;
Click in the Browse Repositories button;
Type AngularJS in the search field. Select the plugin;
Click Install Plugin.
The plugin is incumbed to read #ngdoc annotations present in ngMaterial sources and create documentation for their directives.
It seems to support WebStorm and other IDEs, but I could not find it in the plugin registry while filtering by other IDEs. Maybe it'll work inside WebStorm...
Anyway, this is what you get:
You have also a plugin that helps a lot, check it out. It helps a lot
Angular material v2, Teradata covalent v1, Angular flex layout v1 & Material icon live templates
And with the solution provided by #Alex Ilyaev gives a lot of help.
But its no perfect.
Hope it helps.
Currently I don't think that idea's AngularJS plugin understands angular-materials attribute extensions.
It does understand the directives i.e. control click <md-button ...> and the directive (custom tag) is found.
For now you will have to add the attributes af custom attributes in order to get a "green" page.
Is it possible to specify in BranchExplorer's search box that I do not want to select "subbranches", but the branch with a given name?
For example I have a branch /main/ver1/ and many subranches /main/ver1/task001, /main/ver1/task002, ...
When I put either /main/ver1 or /main/ver1/ into search box, it jumps over all subranches task001, task002(Which is not useful when I want to diff the latest changeset of branch /main/ver1/task122 with the latest changeset of ver1 base branch or switch workspace to base branch)
In words of regex expressions, I want to see .*/ver1[^/] branch.
From the Branches view:
In that case, click on the "Advanced" button and you will be able to configure your custom queries:
eg:
find branch where name like '%ver1'
find branch where name='task122'
You will find more examples in our "cm find" guide:
http://plasticscm.com/documentation/cmfind/plastic-scm-version-control-query-system-guide.shtml
From the Branch Explorer view:
You can drive to "Filters and conditional format", and enter your custom query
eg: (not including "cm find")
name like '%ver1'
name='task122'
You can play with inclusion, exclusion and format rules.
PD: You can perform diff, update... from both views
I just installed the Expression Blend Studio 4 (Trial) from Microsoft.
I have several tutorials telling me to change the style, that I should go to
(Assets) Styles > SketchStyles
There is nothing under that area except a warning(and link)
This category shows all the styles you have created for the current document or application. Additional styles can be found in the online Expression Gallery.
That link gets me no where fast. It basically goes to the home page of Expression Blend.
If you look at this 90 second video.
http://electricbeach.org/files/sketchflow_overview.wmv
At the 30-36 second mark, he is switching the style from squiggly to something more professional.
I'm trying to demo that same thing, which I believe (keep in mind I'm new to this) I am changing FROM the WigglyStyles style to something else.
With
(Assets) Styles > SketchStyles
being empty, I don't know what I'm missing.
...........
So a 2 part question:
How do I get entries to show up under (Assets) Styles > SketchStyles?
(If different from #1), how do I change the overall style from WigglyStyles to something else (and back to WigglyStyles)?
Thanks!
Is misssing the SketchStyles.xaml.
SketchStyles.xaml – this file contain the resource dictionary with number of styles which SketchFlow project makes use of them internally.
Solution:
Create a new solution, a (sketchflow silverlight solution), copy the SketchStyles.xaml from your created solution drag and drop the to the project that doesn't have this file, and press ctrl+shift+B to build it.
hope it helped.
The message was throwing me off.
The little triangle, pointed "to the right" initially, has to be clicked (and then points down) exposing the sub items.
The message:
This category shows all the styles you have created for the current document or application. Additional styles can be found in the online Expression Gallery.
is what was throwing me off. (And I was thinking the same thing as alimbada, that my install went awry).
Once I expand "Styles" (via the small triangle), everything is there.
Ok!! Did I mention I'm a developer, not a designer?? (haha).
Aka, this was just a big "duh" moment.
Thanks.
I just had a quick play with Sketchflow since I have Blend installed and those styles show up fine. Maybe your install went awry?
