When I run my CRA and use the run test arrows in WebStorm 2018.2 I get:
Cannot find module 'core-js/modules/es7.string.pad-start' from
'TestUtils.jsx'
Has anyone have come across this one? How to solve?

I am new to unit testing (and would really like to learn). I tried pulling down this repository (https://github.com/serbanghita/Mobile-Detect) and have been trying to run their unit tests they already have set up. I have it to the point where phpunit is running but when I run
phpunit tests
from the root directory I get:
Tests: 1411, Assertions: 0, Errors: 1411
I have tried running
phpunit --configuration tests/phpunit.xml
but then I get the error:
Class "JohnKary\PHPUnit\Listener\SpeedTrapListener" does not exist
They have something in their documentation about running:
php phpunit.phar -c tests/phpunit.xml
but I get the error
Could not open input file: phpunit.phar
which is because of the way I have phpunit set up I'm sure...
Any suggestions on how to further trouble shoot this?
It appears you have configured https://github.com/johnkary/phpunit-speedtrap to be used as a test listener in your phpunit.xml but have not (properly) installed this extension.
And if your PHP cannot find phpunit.phar then you are either not pointing it to the correct path or you have not downloaded / installed the PHPUnit PHAR, maybe because you chose to install PHPUnit via Composer. In that case the correct path would be vendor/bin/phpunit, of course.
I have a big web project with many javascript Jasmine unit tests.
In that web project, i use grunt, karma and jasmine.
Is there any way to launch only one test javascript with grunt with a command line ?
Launching all tests is long, so how to do that without modify my gruntfile.js or my karma-unit.conf.js ??
I tried the following command, but it is more a hack than a real solution :
karma run -- --grep=filteredtestexpr
I am not sure of the best way to specify which test to run from the command line. But it seems like your problem can be solved with the following two pointers:
Change the name of a test from it to iit and karma will run only that test (actually all iit tests).
Change describe to ddescribe to run the entire describe block.
Also, use xit and xdescribe to explicitly exclude tests.
I installed the dart plugin, set the SDK home path to the dart-sdk folder, configured the scope and checked the 'Dart SDK enabled' option in Phpstorm 6.0.3. Next, I created a dart file in a 'test' directory with the following code (obviously I added the dependency unittest in my pubspec.yaml and ran pub get):
library mytests;
import 'package:unittest/unittest.dart';
main(){
test('my test', (){
expect(1+1, equals(2));
});
}
When I run this unit test however (by right clicking inside the file and selecting 'Run Test: my test', an error is outputted in the unit testing window stating the following:
C:/dart/dart-sdk/bin/dart.exe --ignore-unrecognized-flags --package-root=C:/Users/myname/dart/pokerdart/test/packages/ C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Temp\jetbrains_unit_config.dart
Testing started at 18:55 ...
'file:///C:/Users/myname/AppData/Local/Temp/jetbrains_unit_config.dart': error: line 1 pos 1: unresolved implicit call to super constructor 'Configuration()'
import 'package:unittest/unittest.dart';
^
When I run the test using powershell it just works... Am I missing something/doing something wrong?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
WEB-9636 is fixed in version 7. Please try upgrading to PHPStorm 7.1.3. Or, even better, try PHPStorm 8 EAP (http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/PhpStorm/PhpStorm+Early+Access+Program) - Dart support has been improved there
I am trying to run unit tests in Pydev using IronPython.
When I try to run a test with Ctrl+F9 the following error message shows up in the Eclipse console window:
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute '_getframe'
I figured out that I have to invoke the IronPython interpreter with the '-X:Frames' argument.
Setting up the arguments in the 'Arguments' tab under 'Run->Run Configurations...' doesn't work. They seem to disappear everytime I run (Ctrl+F9) and choose another test.
Clicking 'Run->Run As->Iron Python unit-test' shows up more and more options to choose from.
Is Eclipse/Pydev creating new run configurations everytime I run a different set of tests? How can I permanently pass the '-X:Frames' argument, so my tests will run under IronPython?
(In Python the tests run without any problem.)
This shouldn't really be needed... I've just fixed the PyDev unittest runner so that it works properly (just pushed a new nightly build with that fix included -- if you're in Aptana Studio 3, a nightly is still not available, but you can patch your own version by applying the changes from the commit locally, as they're all changes in Python code: https://github.com/aptana/Pydev/commit/d5d262dbcd0c126ec0ec37e116ff79575c5dd6d8)
Had been looking at the jsunit and jcoverage demos here (click on coverage report link. Open this in a new tab).
I was wondering if any one had done anything similar with Jasmine and JSCoverage ? I'm a little unsure on how to proceed.
[EDIT]
I am wondering if there is something I can do with a jasmine reporter. My Jasmine "hello world" example makes reference to a TrivialReporter. Maybe this can be extended ??
[EDIT]
I've wired up js-test-runner with jasmine right now. Now If I could think of a way to get coverage ??
If you're working on a ruby project and using jasmine via jasmine-gem, I have a patch that adds jscoverage support[1].
If you're using bundler, you can use this version of jasmine with the following command in your Gemfile:
gem 'jasmine',
:git => 'git://github.com/hjdivad/jasmine-gem',
:submodules => true,
:branch => 'jscoverage'
Make sure you've downloaded jscoverage and it's in your $PATH.
You can then add the following to jasmine.yml
coverage:
enabled: true
encoding: utf-8
tmp_dir: tmp
report_dir: public/coverage
skip_paths:
- public/javascripts/vendor
If this works for you, you may want to speak up on the pull request[2] to get it, or some variation, into jasmine-gem proper.
[1] https://github.com/hjdivad/jasmine-gem/tree/jscoverage
[2] https://github.com/pivotal/jasmine-gem/pull/37
If you're not using the jasmine-gem, or don't want to have to run a server to check coverage, I've written a gem that pulls together jscoverage and jasmine. It can run as a rake task in your CI builds.
It can be found here: https://github.com/firstbanco/jasmine-coverage
Install it, then just run
bundle exec rake jasmine:coverage
You're done.
EDIT: As the author of jasmine-coverage, I feel duty bound to to tell you about a better alternative: teaspoon. It requires more setup, but also allows running in the browser so you can use the Chrome debugger.
