AWS unable to connect to Java springboot API endpoints - amazon-web-services

I am trying to run my springboot API on AWS however when i try to connect to the endpoint the error Site cannot be reached IP refused to connect. This my first time working with AWS.
I created a linux instance and connected to it using filezilla. Afterwards i added my jar to a folder which i created on the linux instance using filezilla. I started the springboot project and its running but the problem is that i cannt seem to connect to the endpoints. Am i missing something, how do i connect to my endpoints.
The other thing to note is that i enabled https on my API and added swagger also.

You need to enable relevant ports in the instances' Security Group.
Look at this to create a new Inbound rule for the specific port.
You can go to the aws console, (here I am assuming you have deployed to us-east-1 if its something else, go to the relevant region.
Open up the relevant security group, and then click edit Inbound roles.

Unable to open Public IPv4 DNS in AWS EC2 - Linux instance

I have a Spring boot project which I want to host on an AWS-EC2 instance. I was able to create its image using Git-hub, Jenkin and docker. I was also able to successfully pull and run this image in the Linux console of my AWS-EC2 instance.
According the tutorial I was following I should have been able to open the project now using the public IPv4 DNS but the response I got was that it refuse to connect.
I know that this usually has to do with Inbound rules so I added a rule to allow all traffic but it didn't help.
For anyone who wants to know:
Git-hub repository: https://github.com/SalahuddinShayan/telecom
Docker-Hub repository: https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/salahuddinshayan/telecom
Command I used to run the image in AWS:
docker run -p8081:8081 --name final-app --link docker-mysql:mysql salahuddinshayan/telecom

Here is the Error:
I am completely stumped by it. Does anyone an idea on what to do to fix this?
Please check if your client is calling the right protocol, e.g. http vs https.
You are transmitting on port 8081. http://3.110.29.193:8081/ works fine from the EC2 side. 404 status is raised, so this is a client side error, not a server side error.
It means that no firewall is blocking traffic and a process (your app) was found that listens on IP:Port that you require. The problem is that the process it encountered (your app) is sending only a WhiteLabel Error Page, which is a generic Spring Boot error page that is displayed when no custom error page is present. So the issue is with the Spring app itself and not with EC2 or with connection. In other words: the traffic can reach your Spring app, but your Spring app has nothing to say in response.
As a side note, after deploying your app I would advise to refine the inbound traffic rules to allow only the traffic you want. There is no need of allowing all traffic on all ports.

AWS App Runner service cannot access Internet when added to a VPC

I've set up an AWS App Runner service, which works fine. Currently for networking it's configured as public access, but I'd like to change this to a VPC so that I can connect the service to an RDS instance without having to open the database up to the world.
When I change the networking config to use my default security group, the service is unable to access the Internet. Cloning a git repo from Bitbucket brings up the error: ssh: Could not resolve hostname bitbucket.org: Try again
... and trying to run npm install brings up:
npm ERR! network request to https://registry.npmjs.org/gulp failed, reason: connect ETIMEDOUT 104.16.24.35:443
My security group has an outgoing rule allowing all traffic out to any destination. My RDS instance is in the same VPC/security group and I'm able to connect to this without issue (currently I've opened up port 3306 to the world). Everything else I've read from a bunch of Googling seems fine: route tables, internet gateways, firewall rules, etc.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Probably too late to be really helpful but moving the App Runner to a VPC sends all outgoing traffic to the VPC.
The two options given in the docs are
Adding NAT gateways to each VPC
Setting up VPC endpoints

EC2 instances connecting to lambda result in ConnectFailure

I'm trying to access lambda functions from a Windows VM I have created in EC2 for dev purposes but even a simple 'list functions' command fails to connect
I have tried using the AWS CLI through PowerShell, the dotnet sdk and the VS AWS Toolkit but each of these times out after a long waiting period. I can, however, list other services such as my databases and S3 buckets.
aws cli failure message
VS toolkit failure message
I have tried creating a new VM with the same results. I've disabled windows firewall altogether, allowed all traffic through the security group and have VPC endpoints for my subnet (ssm, ec2messages, lambda, ec2).
I have no trouble connecting to the lambda service through my own computer. On the VM, I have modified the .aws/credentials file to match the one on my computer for both the admin and current user but I still can't connect. This tells me that the problem isn't related to my access key credentials.
I'm reaching the end of the troubleshooting options I can think of so any help would be very much appreciated!
Update: using telnet, I cannot connect to lambda.ap-southeast-2 but I can connect to s3.ap-southeast-2 and lambda.ap-southeast-1. It seems lambda.ap-southeast-2 is being blocked somewhere but it isn't windows firewall because it's off and the same problem happens on Ubuntu VMs.
In the VPC Management Console, I haven't set up any firewalls under network or dns filewalls and my network ACL allows all traffic.

Cannot connect to AWS RDS

I am trying to create a AWS RDS Sql Server database and connect to it from a local machine using SSMS. Later I'll be connecting from a web application (locally, then hosted somewhere eventually.) I am currently failing to connect to my instance (the instance is configured and running.) The error I'm getting is the network/instance related (not login.) Tried telnet and I can't even hit it that way.
Looking on the web, there seems to be a setup for network connections but it talks about EC2, VPC and things I don't think I need (or do I?)
Tried (nothing worked so far): Using the IP instead of hostname, explicitly specifying the port (1433), changing user/password, crying.
Speaking of things I hope I don't need to configure, there's also IAM authentication - didn't touch that yet.
Any input is appreciated before I open a ticket with Amazon.
UPDATE:
My scenario: Scenario
Solution - add the Inbound Rule to default Security Group: Security Groups
When you work with RDS, you need to set inbound rules; otherwise, you are unable to connect to the database. This concept is covered in this AWS tutorial. In this AWS tutorial, the database is MySQL and the app is a Java web app. However, the same concepts apply with respect to inbound rules:
Creating the Amazon Relational Database Service item tracker
One tip -- when you set an inbound rule to let your development machine connect, you can select MyIP...
Also - when you host your app (for example Elastic Beanstalk), you need to set an inbound rule for that as well (as discussed in that tutorial)

how to add a website to aws ec2 instance, no target

I've a nice little ec2 instance, I've logged in the console, updated the YUM, started the httpd, but the IP doesn't work in the browser.
my httpd is up on chkconfig: httpd 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
Thought it would be as listed on my connect from public DNS, same as I connect to console through. I've used the S3 server into the properties on the instance and enabled static website hosting, just to test it before using PHP. Even created a like bucket, trying to use my domain name from the Route 53, but the Route 53 also shows "No Targets Available" in the S3 (or any other).
Alrighty, found it. Was a security issue, but here is the process, in two quick url's.
Tutorial: Installing a LAMP Web Server on Amazon Linux
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/install-LAMP.html?shortFooter=true
But it says if it doesn't work, check the security groups, and a couple of clicks later you're looking at this.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/security-group-rules-reference.html?shortFooter=true
Go into the security group settings and add http from pull down and it's done.
Also, the second part where there isn't a target, be sure and associate the elasticIP (created in the AWS services console) and sure enough a web server is up and running. Once you've the elasticIP address simply add it to the route 53 rule set(s).
