Any ideas on how we can get the AppXtender WebService URL's? Or a catalogue of Services installed under AppXtender and their URL's?
Thank You,
Neil
If you log into your server you will see a number of options listed under ApplicationXtender Desktop:
If you click on the Web Services Test Console it will open up a little tool that may be what you're looking for:
In my case I had to replace "localhost" with my actual dev server name.
This may or may not be what you're looking for.

I have an IIS site on a Windows 2012 R2 server. The site has an Application inside it:
The URL for this site is setup on our Active Directive servers as it is only accessible internally from our company. The URL follows the following structure:
http://NAMEoftheSERVICE.myCompanyServices.myCompany.local
The service for this site is placed in an internal folder:
http://NAMEoftheSERVICE.myCompanyServices.myCompany.local/InternalFolder/Service.svc
I have placed a number of test files both at the root level and in the internal folder:
http://NAMEoftheSERVICE.myCompanyServices.myCompany.local/HelloWorld.html
http://NAMEoftheSERVICE.myCompanyServices.myCompany.local/InternalFolder/HelloWorld.html
I can browse these files without any problems. However, I cannot browse the service at http://NAMEoftheSERVICE.myCompanyServices.myCompany.local/InternalFolder/Service.svc
The browser returns
However the file is there, and I have made sure there are no typos in the URL I put in the browser.
I have looked at similar questions but there seems not to be anything like the problem I am experiencing. The only question that looked promising was:
WCF service file not visible
But the answer for that post does not apply to my issue as I already have the configuration mentioned in that post setup as it is suggested.
I have checked the IIS-level config files for any exclusion regarding .svc files or anything similar, but could not find anyhting.
Have you got any suggestions on where to look at to solve this issue?
Solution: Install HTTP Activation feature
After running some more testing on other sites on the same server, I actually realised that the issue was specific to .svc files. I therefore made another search on Google and found that the server was missing the "HTTP Activation" feature (part of the WCF Services).
So, if you are having the same issue on .svc files follow the following steps to make sure you have the right components installed on the server:
Open Server Manager
In Server Manager, click the Manage menu, and then click Add Roles
and Features
In the Add Roles and Features wizard, click Next. Select the
installation type and click Next. Select the destination server and
click Next.
Skip the Server Roles page.
On the Select features page, expand ".Net Framework 4.5 Features",
expand "WCF Services" and select "HTTP Activation". Click Next.
On the Confirm installation selections page, click Install.
On the Results page, click Close.
The same can be achieved by running the following Powershell command:
Install-WindowsFeature -Name NET-WCF-HTTP-Activation45
This did the trick for me. I hope it can be of help to someone.
I've tried to add google login to my web application using django-allauth.
I added to my google application the following callback_uri:
since i'm running tests on my development server (localhost) and i don't wanna use https.
Even though, i get a 'redirect_uri_mismatch' saying that my redirect URI doesn't match any registred redirect URI.
Does anyone have any ideea about what causes this?
Thanks for your time.
Later Edit:
Using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost solved this problem.
Recently I ran into problems trying to get Google+ to work as well. I finally got it working. I made some updates to the documentation so it's a bit easier to use. See if using the updated allauth google docs you can get it to work.
Have you try doing the following:
1. Go to the Google Developers console -> Api $ auth -> credentials
2. You should see "Client ID for web application" click "Edit Settings"
3. Change your "Redirect URI" to "http://localhost:8000/accounts/google/login/callback"
Should work after that let me know if it doesn't.
Cheers,
Dan
i am approaching the development of Restful web services for the first time. I tried to follow this guide for Netbeans . I am stuck at the testing of the web service.
When i open the
http://localhost:8080/WebServicesTest/test-resbeans.html
page, none of the root resources appears in the left menu. (there should be entities.customer and entities.discountcode)
I really can't find a solution.
Thanks in advance to anyone who likes to give me a hint.
--------------- Edit
If i click on CustomerDB --> Deploy i get an error
In-place deployment at C:\Users\utente\Documents\NetBeansProjects\CustomerDB\build\web
GlassFish Server 4, deploy, null, false
C:\Users\utente\Documents\NetBeansProjects\CustomerDB\nbproject\build-impl.xml:1071:
The module has not been deployed.
See the server log for details.
The line 1071 of build-impl.xml is
<nbdeploy clientUrlPart="${client.urlPart}" debugmode="false" forceRedeploy="${forceRedeploy}"/>
I checked out the referenced tutorial.
Which exact path did you follow? Did you change anything?
Most likely your CustomerDB application is not deployed correctly (see GlassFish Server output in NetBeans) and thus is not able to expose the web service and thus is not displayed in the test page (nothing visible in the side bar).
I tried the tutorial myself and had that phenomenon when using another database ("test" instead of the sample db, which was not connectable in my installed environment), resulting in a message that "test__pm" resource was not found. I then created a conection pool and a jdbc reosurce for test and then it worked.
To set the context of this problem, I will say that I am person trying to learn web services working ( mostly )independently at home on XP workgroup. The situation is that I am working through example in book that set up Java web service that should be accessable to clients from many platforms ( perl, ruby, etc. ). The problem is that although I can create and access service from any one given unit in workgroup, I cannot create on any unit and access from any other unit in workgroup. When trying to access wsdl, IE returns error saying cannot display web page .
So i tried to configure Windows firewall to allow access via port indicated in web service. Did not make any difference. Also tried various settings in IIS regarding behavior of XP Default website. These settings included allowing wider range of MIME types including application/soap. Still no difference.
If Anyone out there could just give me an idea of what else could be the problem, then please do so and i will investigate it further. Thanks in advance. PL
P.S. After doing some research, I am thinking that my problem of not being to see WSDL from remote machine is related to limitations of IIS 5.1. Does anyone have any thoughts about this ? I even tried publishing WSDL to port 8080 ( earlier I was using port 9876 as suggested in book example. When even this failed and being able to view 8080 for ASP.Net and Java webapps, I ran across a statement in a book saying that IIS 5.1 does not allow service on local machine to use HTTP port 80 to communicate. So If this sounds familiar to anyone or anyone has solution, please reply, Thanks for reading this rambling message this far. PL
Hello to any one who might have this similar problem in XP workgroup and need a solution. I managed to connect across workgroup from peer to use service as client by setting up client in Visual Web Developer 2010 Express . Key is to add web reference that will import wsdl from service host .
Also worth noting is that I changed address of service published to provide server name of host as known by workgroup rather than using localhost designation.
Still need to find way to connect using other clients such as java, perl and ruby. Maybe can develop client in Eclipse that will have feature comparable to web reference in Visual Web Developer.

I deployed webservice written in .net language through IIS from my local machine,Is there any possible way to access remote HTTP server which contain different OS and different technologies
Sorry for being confused, but can you define:
different OS and different
technologies
Do you mean deploy your webservice to another host or
Do you mean consume a webservice from another host?
Option 1
If the host is not running IIS/ASP.NET I think you are going to have some issues as Mono may not run what your code base requires.
But you could try the following:
publish your site to a folder
zip up that folder
scp/ftp/upload this zip to the remote server
unzip the files (or upload individual files/folder) to directory configured by IIS Management
try to run
Option 2
You need to use either the svcutil tool to create the proxy clients to consume that webservice or you use the Add Web Reference in Visual Studio to automate this for you.
Hope this answers your requirements. Update your question with more information for the community to offer more support.
I think that is one of the main things that web services are for.
