Odoo10 / Windows
I installed a module "my_app" in Odoo10, and want to change the model : app_model.py following this steps :
add field to app_model.py and save it
restart the odoo server form windows "services"
Activate developper mode
Update the application list
Upgrade the application
The problem is that when i open my app model in the configuration menu=>Database structure=>models , the added field doesn't appear
I tried to uninstall the app (to install it later with the new model), but Odoo didn't remove the app_model from the list of models (after app list update, restart service and even retart the server).
did i miss something ?
I finally found the problem, it was due to an Indentation error.
When i added the field, i used linebreak in the editor, so it was at the same level of the other fields. But the editor used automatically tab when the other fields were indented with spaces.
It was that simple, but gave me a headache.

I've installed multiselectfield on my machine and it works well. I can choose multiple items thanks to multiple checkboxes in admin:
Then I had to copy/paste all the files of the project to my VPS using Filezilla. So I have the exact same code and the exact same files locally and remotely. The site works well remotely (the VPS django admin page too).
However on the server's django admin page, the multiselectfield widget shows a simple text field instead of an actual list of checkboxes, plus it says Enter a list of values. when I try to validate the form.
So, how is it, that with the same code at two different places, the multiselectfield acts differently and how to I fix this ?
my field looks like this in the model:
ram_list = tuple((ram.ref, ram.name) for ram in RAM.objects.all())
ram = MultiSelectField(choices=ram_list)
I am working on an existing django project where admin console is extensively used.
With my latest run of package upgrade for my application admin page layout has changed.
Models have started appearing on all the pages, leaving a small space to display form fields.
For example this is how form page look like now:
Original Form view was occupying the whole page like this:
Any clue on what has been changed and which setting to change to get back the original view?
From the django-3.1 release notes,
The admin now has a sidebar on larger screens for easier navigation.
It is enabled by default but can be disabled by using a custom
AdminSite and setting AdminSite.enable_nav_sidebar
to False.
You can refer Customizing the AdminSite class - (django doc) to know more about customizing the AdminSite
Try this, open your browser and clear all the history then login back in again and it should work. I am sure the browser has cached an old version of Django admin.
I had the same problem when using version 3.1. I started a new demo app with version 2.2 to demonstrate something and when I got back to version 3.1 I got that issue, So what I did was just clear the browser history and everything came to its original state.
I created a simple Sitecore JSS Application and imported the same.
In connected mode, I want to add a few new fields. I added them to the template (Image 1) and they show up in the item (Image 2). When I query the item, I get the new fields in the json object as well (Image 4).
However, I cannot see the new fields in the experience editor (Image 3) and I am assuming I need to add those in the View. I am unable to locate where I need to add these fields or what I need to do, to have these show up.
Image 1: The modified template
Image 2: Both description and photo show up in the item
Image 3: Description and photo do not show up in the experience editor
Image 4: Json however returns these 2 properties
The Experience Editor use the Node.js app inside the /dist folder of your Sitecore webroot. (See also the config, you can have multiple apps)
Change your frontend, I Guess you use React, Vue, or Angular and upload/deploy to the dist folder.
You need to choose your dev workflow see:
https://doc.sitecore.com/xp/en/developers/hd/190/sitecore-headless-development/development-workflows.html
When you add your fields in Sitecore, you are using the Sitecore-First Workflow.
Hidden gem:
JSS add a extra Field "Always Display Field Editor Button in Experience Editor" to Renderings. In the Experience editor the Chrome Toolbar from a rendering has as first icon a Pencil, That opens a Field editor for all custom fields.
I'm randomly getting the following error when I try to login to the Sitecore back end.
The model item passed into the dictionary is of type 'Sitecore.Mvc.Presentation.RenderingModel', but this dictionary requires a model item of type 'Sitecore.ExperienceAnalytics.Client.Mvc.Presentation.ExperienceAnalyticsLineChartViewModel'.
I experience this issue after I have build the Sitecore link databases using Sitecore Launchpad --> Control Panel --> Rebuild link databases.
When I clear the Sitecore cache using http://{your website}/sitecore/admin/cache.aspx this is error is not throwing for sometime.
Is there anyway to eliminate this error permanently ?
When you Remove Broken Links on the Core database, the Model property of the ExperienceAnalyticsLineChart rendering is erroneously deleted.
Navigate to the Core database in the Content Editor of your Sitecore instance at http://{your-sitecore-url}/sitecore/shell/default.aspx?sc_content=core.
Navigate to the ExperienceAnalyticsLineChart rendering in the item tree at /sitecore/client/Applications/ExperienceAnalytics/Common/Layouts/Renderings/ExperienceAnalyticsLineChart.
Set the Model field to Sitecore.ExperienceAnalytics.Client.Mvc.Presentation.ExperienceAnalyticsLineChartViewModel, Sitecore.ExperienceAnalytics.Client.
Save the item and click OK if prompted that the item contains broken links.
Log back into Sitecore and the Launchpad will load.
In your view you're using Sitecore.ExperienceAnalytics.Client.Mvc.Presentation.ExperienceAnalyticsLineChartViewModel instead of Sitecore.Mvc.Presentation.RenderingModel witch is the default.
If you want to use your own model you have to register it in Sitecore
Navigate to /sitecore/layout/Models and add a new model in the model type add "Sitecore.ExperienceAnalytics.Client.Mvc.Presentation.ExperienceAnalyticsLineChartViewModel, YourAssemblyName"
go to your View rendering item in sitecore and select your model in the Model field.

Here's the scenario:
Fresh install of Open Cart. Fresh install of vQmod. Everything is working fine. But when I upload certain theme - purchased and licensed - the site has an issue. The home page is working, but the product page goes blank.
I have tried all possible combinations of OpenCart and vQmod versions (except for 2.0 for OC because the theme doesn't support it yet). I am out of ideas.
Edit: After showing all errors as adviced I finally saw the reason : "oc_product_tab' doesn't exist"
I found a solution. It turned out that the "Extra Product Tabs Opencart Extension" is missing. This is a standart free plugin that comes with template theme but it wasn't configured. It turnes out that the theme works with it.
Go to system>users>user groups and select all for both access and modify. Save. Than go to Catalog menu and click on Extra product tabs. Click Insert and add the module. That’s it. It’s a standard opencart module which is free for use.
