I am integrating reactjs with my django, I have done setup and even able to render page from server too, but in client side when it comes to rendering and event handling and attaching, I am getting error "Uncaught ReferenceError: MainContainer is not defined".
I am totally lost here, please help me.

<script type="text/javascript" src="static/build/index_webpack.js"></script>
<script>
// ReactDOM.render(React.createFactory(MainContainer)({isOpen: false, props: {'freeShipping': free_shipping_message_new,'navigationBar': [loose_leaf_content]}}), document.getElementById('app'));
ReactDOM.render(MainContainer({isOpen: false, props: {'freeShipping': free_shipping_message_new,'navigationBar': [loose_leaf_content]}}), document.getElementById('app'));
</script>

You might be better using django-webpack-loader to help you integrate your webpack bundles into django templates. For us, it took a lot of the pains away from setting webpack up alongside django. Now we don't have to think about webpack at all, it just sits there and automatically builds all of our apps and we can just integrate the bundles into our templates with
{% render_bundle 'react_app' %}

I followed angular2 tutorial https://angular.io/docs/ts/latest/tutorial/.
I didnt want it run under node.js lite-server, but under django.
I managed to finish it and its working BUT: everytime I import any angular module eg. in index.html:
System.import('static/dist/js/main')
.then(null, console.error.bind(console));
or in main.ts:
import {AppComponent} from './app.component'
or everywhere, javascript application is trying to load some js resource like static/dist/js/main file which doesnt exist of course, because the compiled file is named main.js not main.
When I add the extensions '.js' like:
System.import('static/dist/js/main.js')
.then(null, console.error.bind(console));
or
import {AppComponent} from './app.component.js'
It suddenly works, but ts to js compiler (npm run tsc) is throwing error (even throught its compiling) and my IDE is underlining imports as errors.
This is my full index.html:

I checked this Angular2 Typescript app throws 404 on components when js extension not specified but it didnt helped me.
Does anyone have an idea, please?
Assuming you have configured tsc to output your code to the 'static/dist/js' folder you should be able to configure Systemjs like this:
<script>
System.defaultJSExtensions = true;
System.config({
baseURL: "./static/dist/js"
});
System.import("main")
</script>
I am trying to implement the instafeed tutorial to just show some instagram pictures.
I am working on PyCharm using Django.
Here is my folder hierarchy:
/test_project/js/instafeed.min.js
I have a suspicion that I am not referencing the 'src' correctly. I had 'Cannot resolve directory' warnings before, but I got them to disappear by playing around with the Source preferences.
Here's the HTML code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head lang="en">
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<style>
</style>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/instafeed.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var feed = new Instafeed({
get: 'tagged',
tagName: 'awesome',
clientId: 'b8dacdbf587f41798d8dfb03e3f7a29',
useHTTP: true
});
feed.run();
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="instafeed">
</div>
</body>
</html>
I used the 'useHTTP:true' because I saw on another answer that this needs to be set to true to work on a local machine. I've looked at how the code was used in other tutorials and implementations, but I don't see how my code is any different.
Thanks for the help!
Instafeed needs jQuery (the documentation says that you don't need, but i got some errors without it), so make sure you have both libs loaded correctly.
Try with this:
<script src="//cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.0/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="//cdn.lukej.me/instafeed.js/1.2.0/instafeed.min.js"></script>
I recently decided to try Ember.js.
I set up a small application, but I can't get something to work.
I have a file app.html
<!doctype>
<html>
<head>
...
</head>
<body>
<script type="text/x-handlebars">
...
</script>
</body>
</html>
Now, of course, this doesn't render anything. I include handlebars.js, ember.js, and app.js and now then everything renders properly.
The problem is that when I try to add something with curly braces, the output is blank. For example, if I set some variables in my JS files and want to display it in my app, like <h1>{{title}}</h1>, I get <h1></h1>. When I try to put {{input value="Username"}}, nothing gets displayed.
I get no error messages, except when I use closing tags. For example, this
{{#link-to "http://google.ca"}}Link{{/link-to}}
Will make my whole web page simply display
line 117: interleaved closing tag: link-to
I have no idea what is wrong. Even googling the error message doesn't help much.
Any hint?ç

</ul>
</script>
</body>
</html>
Renders a blank page with this error message:
line 36: interleaved closing tag: each
I'm not sure that's normal.
link-to is meant for ember routes only. (http://emberjs.com/guides/templates/links/)
In your case I would just write the html for the link in the template directly.
Here is a small sample ember.js app with the google.ca link, I have a feeling that your html may not be setup correctly with an outlet and a template:
http://emberjs.jsbin.com/qivunivabo/3/edit
I found the problem and this is really stupid.
My HTML files are delivered by a framework that uses Mustache as its template engine (server side) and therefore it renders all the {{something}} tags before sending the output to the broswer.
:/
i an doing exactly the same Django admin datepicker calendar and clock img
and i am suffering with the same problem but it was working perfectly fine with django 1.4 but when i updated it to django 1.5 it is giving me this error
'adminmedia' is not a valid tag library: Template library adminmedia not found, tried django.templatetags.adminmedia,django.contrib.staticfiles.templatetags.adminmedia,django.contrib.admin.templatetags.adminmedia,django.contrib.humanize.templatetags.adminmedia,jobpost.templatetags.adminmedia,crispy_forms.templatetags.adminmedia,tinymce.templatetags.adminmedia,haystack.templatetags.adminmedia

by doing this i am showing image of calender widget from /static/admin/img/icon_calender.jpg.

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/static/admin/css/widgets.css"/>
<link href="{% static 'admin/css/login.css' %}" rel="stylesheet">
and it look like this:
my calender icon is gone. can anyone tell me whats the alternative of this problem in version 1.5
help will be appreciated
The response is right here, in the 1.5 release notes: https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/releases/1.5-beta-1/#miscellaneous
The {% admin_media_prefix %} became deprecated, you must remove it from your templates. (Included every {% load adminmedia %}, which causes the exception). There must be a setting which replace this tag I guess.
so django 1.5 was giving me nightmare so i resolved my problem by using direct jquery datpicker here is the jquery datepicker
all i had to do is change the id which is a little bit tricky in django .for example if your date field name is start_date then id will be formtools_start_date . and for this kind of datepicker you don't even need any icon to show.. this helped me i hope this will help those also whoever upgraded their django version.
I just had this problem today - not being able to load admin base.css. I upgraded Django for my site from v1.2 to v1.5 and encountered the issue. I found that the href is /static/admin/css/base.css and could not find out how to change it. So I did these:
Copied site-packages/django/contrib/admin/static/admin/* to my Django project's static directory so it would be like
top/
static/
admin/
css/
js
images
Editted urls.py, added the following line in the urlpatterns = patterns('',...
(r'^static/(?P.*)$','django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT, 'show_indexes':True}),
That's it. It worked.
When I add this script to a plain HTML file's HEAD section
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=true"></script>
and I run this script on the body onload,
function initialize() {
var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(-34.397, 150.644);
var myOptions = {
zoom: 8,
center: latlng,
mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP
};
var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions);
}
then I see the Google map just fine.
However, the same does not work when in a Django template. (Yes, I am new to Django :)
I get all the code in the initialize function to run, but no map shows up. Page stays blank.
I assume it has something to do with Django, and the GAE dev server, and how the Google Maps js API is referenced, but I don't know how to fix.
Thanx much.
Edit:
My Django template looks like this (There are no Django specific tags or anything yet.)
<!DOCTYPE html
PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

dir="ltr"
xml:lang="en"
lang="en">

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/site_media/css/reset.css" />

<script src="/site_media/js/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=true"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">

function initialize() {
var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(-34.397, 150.644);
var myOptions = {
zoom: 8,
center: latlng,
mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP

var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions);

<br/>
<br/>
<center>
<div id="map_canvas" style="width:60%; height:70%;">Why the heck is the map not showing?</div>

And the rendered HTML source of that template from the browser looks like this:

<div id="map_canvas" style="width:60%; height:70%;">Why the heck is the map not showing?</div>
</center>
</body>
</html>
Your DOCTYPE is causing the problem. If I remove that from your code, then the map displays.
There are some threads on the Google Maps JavaScript API v3 Group that discuss this problem.
I don't think your problem is (directly) related to the GAE development server or Django - it looks like your page's HTML is loading just fine.
I suspect your problem may be the jQuery reference. Perhaps jQuery is not being loaded, and thus your script stops executing when it tries to access $(document) but fails because a ReferenceError is thrown.
I would check that your link to load the jQuery library is working by manually accessing it in your browser (i.e., browse to http://localhost:8080/site_media/js/jquery.min.js (or wherever you are running your development server) and make sure it works). If not, then fix your app.yaml file so that it is properly setup to serve /site_media/js/jquery.min.js.
I've had this I think and I fixed it by just doing the Google Maps initialize from google's own method:
google.setOnLoadCallback(initialize);
I know I tried to do this (by default) in jQuery's ready but that didn't work for some reason.
