I want to try the rule engine of biztalk, but without installing the biztalk server, I found this tutorial https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/33143/Developing-with-the-Microsoft-Business-Rule-Engine which indicates how to only install the rule engine.
When I run the Business Rule Composer, I have to indicate an sql server and a database name, why do I have to do that? I mean do I have to install sql server to use the Biztalk BRE? I will not get data from database and i don't want to install sql server, is it possible?
Also can I create rules without the Business Rule Composer?
Thanks.

I am working on the development of a Connector interface with Elasticsearch (translate SQL to API DSL query syntax) .
I am starting with Apache Calcite CSV Adapter as a first step to test Calcite capabilities.
I followed the tutorial https://calcite.apache.org/docs/tutorial.htmlÂ
My question is how to use the JDBC connector (and which configuration) in a SQL client like Dbeaver or Squirrel... ?
Thanks
Edit:
This my configuration but it's not working
Error:
The DBeaver documentation describes how to add a new database driver. You can specify whatever parameters you need as well as provide a Calcite JAR file so the necessary code is available.
The class name should be org.apache.calcite.jdbc.Driver. The URL Template will be something like jdbc:calcite:model=path/to/model.json where you specify a path to a model.json file which contains the necessary model to create the connection.
I'm currently experimenting/working on WSO2. What i'm trying to do is to have Data Analytics server configured. I started by following the below specified URL
https://docs.wso2.com/display/AM210/Configuring+APIM+Analytics#9d6747f5c0074928b18599abe472987d (Quick Steps)
After performing all the steps, i get the following issue on APIM cmd prompt
YES Its pretty evident from the error that no such table exists BUT that is exactly the issue i'm facing. What could really be the cause here?
Consider the following points:
I've not followed ALL the steps mentioned on
https://docs.wso2.com/display/DAS310/Getting+Started (BUT are they
required?)
In the installation prerequisites for DAS, JDBC-compliant Connector for Java is required which I've not yet installed (BUT its not mandatory at the same time)
Most of the QUICK STEPS for the configuration of DAS in the specified URL i.e. https://docs.wso2.com/display/AM210/Configuring+APIM+Analytics#9d6747f5c0074928b18599abe472987d where already in place and i only had to
Set Up JDK, ANT, Maven
enable the analytics section in the API-M_HOME/repository/conf/api-manager.xml
add log4j.rootLogger=, DAS_AGENT to API-M_HOME/repository/conf/log4j.properties
add snappy-java_1.1.1.7.jar to DAS_HOME\repository\components\lib
Yet the issue persists, Do let me know of what you think. Thank you
Since you are following quick start guide please extract the WSO2 API Manager and the WSO2 API-M Analytics distributions (zip files), to the same directory (preferably an empty directory).
Also, you need to generate some traffic to the published APIs in order to analytics server to create this table for the first time.
We are using camunda-bpm-jboss-7.1.0-Final in our java web project. The UI part is created using jsf and the database is mysql.
However, camunda comes with default h2 database, which does not persists data.
Each time we turn the jboss server off, we loose some process -id's.So my question is, is there a way to configure the h2 database, so that it persists data?
camunda currently supports H2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle and MSSQL. If you don't want to use the default H2 configuration you can change the data source in your JBoss configuration. Please see the installation guide: http://docs.camunda.org/latest/guides/installation-guide/jboss/#bpm-platform-install-the-platform-on-a-vanilla-jboss-creating-a-datasource
Yes, simply change your JDBC connection string to :
jdbc:h2:file:full-path-to-file
*nix:
jdbc:h2:file:/tmp/my-database-file
Windows:
jdbc:h2:file:C:/data/test
For more information, see: http://www.h2database.com/html/faq.html#database_files
I was trying to deploy a rule service with WSO2 Business Rule Server
I exactly followed this link
http://docs.wso2.org/wiki/display/BRS200/Creating+and+Deploying+the+Rule+Service#CreatingandDeployingtheRuleService-RuleServiceWizard
I also made the jar file from 3 different class files:
OrderAccept.class OrderReject.class and PlaceOrder.class
I am trying to deploy the server with wizard in the end I got this error

Anyone could help me where I might make mistakes?
It seems your jar files are not properly picked. One reason I can think of it, your axis2 archive has wrong folder structure. I am talking about the rule service upload mechanism. You may see there is a folder structure recommended in the documentation. After creating the .aar file, extract it and see whether you have the same folder structure. If it differs from the recommended one, your jar files will not get picked.
I've tried the same example and it's also giving me the same error(both methods, Rule service Upload and Rule Service Wizard). The folder structure that #Amila was suggesting seems to be ok according to the documentation. What I recently found is this link http://wso2.com/library/articles/2013/05/eclipse-plugin-wso2-business-rules-server from which I quote "Previously WSO2 BRS artifacts (aar/car) were created using the web UI rule wizard or creating the artifact by combining several artifacts. With the new WSO2 Developer Studio plug-in for rule services, one can easily create a complete deployable BRS artifact using the Eclipse IDE. Developers can easily create WSO2 BRS artifacts using this tool, and deploy it in the WSO2 Business Rules Server." What I'm guessing is that this new method/tool would substitute the "old" methods(upload and wizard). Give it a try.
I deployed webservice written in .net language through IIS from my local machine,Is there any possible way to access remote HTTP server which contain different OS and different technologies
Sorry for being confused, but can you define:
different OS and different
technologies
Do you mean deploy your webservice to another host or
Do you mean consume a webservice from another host?
Option 1
If the host is not running IIS/ASP.NET I think you are going to have some issues as Mono may not run what your code base requires.
But you could try the following:
publish your site to a folder
zip up that folder
scp/ftp/upload this zip to the remote server
unzip the files (or upload individual files/folder) to directory configured by IIS Management
try to run
Option 2
You need to use either the svcutil tool to create the proxy clients to consume that webservice or you use the Add Web Reference in Visual Studio to automate this for you.
Hope this answers your requirements. Update your question with more information for the community to offer more support.
I think that is one of the main things that web services are for.
