Indenting UIlabel around another UILabel (Drop Capping) - swift3

I would like to produce this effect:
The number is a UILabel and the words are a UILabel. I can't separate the text into two UILabel's. The first two lines of the words UILabel should match up with the number UILabel, then the third line (etc..) should be below the number UILabel.

What you seem to be looking for is CoreText. See the following answer:

Extract a list of unique text characters/ emojis from a cell

I have a text in cell (A1) like this:
✌😋👅👅☝️😉🍌🍪💧💧
I want to extract the unique emojis from this cell into separate cells:
✌😋👅☝️😉🍌🍪💧
Is this possible?
You want to put each character of ✌😋👅👅☝️😉🍌🍪💧💧 to each cell by splitting using the built-in function of Google Spreadsheet.
Sample formula:
=SPLIT(REGEXREPLACE(A1,"(.)","$1#"),"#")
✌😋👅👅☝️😉🍌🍪💧💧 is put in a cell "A1".
Using REGEXREPLACE, # is put to between each character like ✌#😋#👅#👅#☝#️#😉#🍌#🍪#💧#💧#.
Using SPLIT, the value is splitted with #.
Result:
Note:
In your question, the value of ️ which cannot be displayed is included. It's \ufe0f. So "G1" can be seen like no value. But the value is existing. So please be careful this. If you want to remove the value, you can use ✌😋👅👅☝😉🍌🍪💧💧.

From marikamitsos's comment, I could notice that my understanding was not correct. So the final result is as follows. This is from marikamitsos.
=TRANSPOSE(UNIQUE(TRANSPOSE(SPLIT(REGEXREPLACE(A1,"(.)","$1#"),"#"))))
or try:
=TRANSPOSE(UNIQUE(TRANSPOSE(REGEXEXTRACT(A1, REPT("(.)", LEN(A1))))))
Formula
Appears, one of the best formula solutions would be:
=SPLIT(REGEXREPLACE(A1,"(.)","$1#"),"#")
You may also add some additional checks like skin tones & intermediate chars:
=TRANSPOSE(SPLIT(REGEXREPLACE(A2,"(.[🏻🏼🏽🏾🏿"&CHAR(8205)&CHAR(65039)&"]*)","#$1"),"#"))
It will help to join some emojis as a single emoji.
Script
More precise way is to use the script:
https://github.com/orling/grapheme-splitter/blob/master/index.js
↑
Add the code to Script editor
Add code for sample usage:
function splitEmojis(string) {
var splitter = new GraphemeSplitter();
// split the string to an array of grapheme clusters (one string each)
var graphemes = splitter.splitGraphemes(string);
return graphemes;
}

Please note: some emojis are not correctly shown in sheets
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴
↑ emojis:
flag: England
flag: Scotland
flag: Wales
black flag
are the same for Google Sheets.

Swift 3: iosMath label removing all spaces

I'm trying to display text which may at times contain a math expression so I am using MTMathUILabel from iosMath. I generate the labels dynamically and add them to a stack as I pull the strings from the db. The problem is that all text which is not math appears with no spaces. i.e:
In db: Solve the following equation: (math here)
In label: Solvethefollowingequation: (math here)
Here is what I have tried so far:
for question in all_questions {
let finalString = question.question?.replacingOccurrences(of: " ", with: "\\space", options: .literal, range: nil)
let label = MTMathUILabel()
label.textColor = UIColor.black
label.latex = finalString
stack.addArrangedSubview(label)
}
But the problem is that it literally places two . And xcode doesn't let me write just one \ because it is not escaped. However if I just write
print("\\space")
Then it will print just one.
How can I fix this so I add only one \? If this cannot be done, how can I achieve what I want? Is there a better library out there?
After giving a quick look at MTMathUILabel's doc and LaTeX conventions, I believe you should replace your spaces with a tilde character "~". This will make them non-breaking spaces and avoid the backslash issue (which is probably due to \space not being understood by MTMathUILabel).
Systematic replacement of all spaces may yield undesirable result if the formula itself has legitimate spaces in it.
For example, a quadratic equation would be expressed as:
x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}
You will end up replacing spaces inside curly braces, and that may or may not be what you want:
x~=~\frac{-b~\pm~\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

How can I separate a string by underscore (_) in google spreadsheets using regex?

I need to create some columns from a cell that contains text separated by "_".
The input would be:
campaign1_attribute1_whatever_yes_123421
And the output has to be in different columns (one per field), with no "_" and excluding the final number, as it follows:
campaign1 attribute1 whatever yes
It must be done using a regex formula!
help!
Thanks in advance (and sorry for my english)
=REGEXEXTRACT("campaign1_attribute1_whatever_yes_123421","(("&REGEXREPLACE("campaign1_attribute1_whatever_yes_123421","((_)|(\d+$))",")$1(")&"))")
What this does is replace all the _ with parenthesis to create capture groups, while also excluding the digit string at the end, then surround the whole string with parenthesis.
We then use regex extract to actuall pull the pieces out, the groups automatically push them to their own cells/columns
To solve this you can use the SPLIT and REGEXREPLACE functions
Solution:
Text - A1 = "campaign1_attribute1_whatever_yes_123421"
Formula - A3 = =SPLIT(REGEXREPLACE(A1,"_+\d*$",""), "_", TRUE)
Explanation:
In cell A3 We use SPLIT(text, delimiter, [split_by_each]), the text in this case is formatted with regex =REGEXREPLACE(A1,"_+\d$","")* to remove 123421, witch will give you a column for each word delimited by ""
A1 = "campaign1_attribute1_whatever_yes_123421"
A2 = "=REGEXREPLACE(A1,"_+\d*$","")" //This gives you : *campaign1_attribute1_whatever_yes*
A3 = SPLIT(A2, "_", TRUE) //This gives you: campaign1 attribute1 whatever yes, each in a separate column.
I finally figured it out yesterday in stackoverflow (spanish): https://es.stackoverflow.com/questions/55362/c%C3%B3mo-separo-texto-por-guiones-bajos-de-una-celda-en...
It was simple enough after all...
The reason I asked to be only in regex and for google sheets was because I need to use it in Google data studio (same regex functions than spreadsheets)
To get each column just use this regex extract function:
1st column: REGEXP_EXTRACT(Campaña, '^(?:[^_]*_){0}([^_]*)_')
2nd column: REGEXP_EXTRACT(Campaña, '^(?:[^_]*_){1}([^_]*)_')
3rd column: REGEXP_EXTRACT(Campaña, '^(?:[^_]*_){2}([^_]*)_')
etc...
The only thing that has to be changed in the formula to switch columns is the numer inside {}, (column number - 1).
If you do not have the final number, just don't put the last "_".
Lastly, remember to do all the calculated fields again, because (for example) it gets an error with CPC, CTR and other Adwords metrics that are calculated automatically.
Hope it helps!

vim: search, capture & replace on different lines using regex

Relatively new linux/vim/regex user here. I want to use regex to search for a numerical patterns, capture it, and then use the captured value to append a string to the previous line. In other words...I have a file of format:
title: description_id
text: {en: '2. text description'}
I want to capture the values from the text field and append them to the beginning of the title field...to yield something like this:
title: q2_description_id
text: {en: '2. text description'}
I feel like I've come across a way to reference other lines in a search & replace but am having trouble finding that now. Or maybe a macro would be suitable. Any help would be appreciated...thanks!
Perhaps something like:
:%s/\(title: \)\(.*\n\)\(text: \D*\)\(\d*\)/\1q\4_\2\3\4/
Where we are searching for 4 parts:
"title: "
rest of line and \n
"text: " and everything until next digit in line
first string of consecutive digits in line
and spitting them back out, with 4) inserted between 1) and 2).
EDIT: Shorter solution by Peter in the comments:
:%s/title: \zs\ze\_.\{-}text: \D*\(\d*\)/q\1_/
Use \n for the new lines (and ^v+enter for new lines on the substitute line): A quick and not very elegant example:
:%s/title: description_id\n\ntext: {en: '\(\i*\)\(.*\)/title: q\1_description_id^Mtext: {en: '\1\2/

Copying only the value at column n Vim

I have a file with long lines and need to see/ copy what the values are in a specic location(s) for the whole file but copy the rest of the line.
If the text width is small enough, ~184 columns, I can use :set colorcolumnnum to highlight the value. However over 184 characters it gets a bit unwieldy scrolling.
I tried :g/\%1237c/y Z, for one of the positions I needed, but that yanked the entire line.
eg for a smaller sample :g/\%49c/y Z will yank all of line 1 and 2 but I want to yank, or copy, the character at that column ie = on line 1 and x on line 2.

There are two problems with your :g command:
For each matching line, the cursor is positioned on the first column. So even though you've matched at a particular column, that position is lost.
The \%c atom actually matches byte indices (what Vim somewhat confusingly names "columns"), so your measurement will be off for Tab and non-ASCII characters. Use the virtual column atom \%v instead.
Instead of :global, I would use :substitute with a replace-expression, in the idiom described at how to extract regex matches using vim:
:let t=[] | %s/\%49v./\=add(t, submatch(0))[-1]/g | let ## = join(t, "\n")
Alternatively, if you install my ExtractMatches plugin, I'd be that short command invocation:
:YankMatchesToReg /\%50v./
