I have a Restful webservice implemented using apache cxf which takes JSON as input to perform some business logic and returns a JSON output. But now i need to convert this to a webservice call that does not return anything (for example return void) so that the user does not wait for its response and continue.
Thanks.

I am now to webservice and I need to do input request validation in apache cxf webservice.
Can anyone let me know different ways to do so
I have a JAX-WS WebService running and I want to add a RESTFUL method in it to return HTTP response, without writing a new service.
Is there any way to do it?
Thanks a lot
JAX-WS is an API for SOAP Webservices, with are based on XML transmission of information, not some data over http - the REST way.
What is your services stack? Metro, axis2?
If you use CXF it provides you the possibility to serve both kinds.
Also you may join the two technologies in the same application.
In my project I need to write a web service which will receive Collection<?> as a parameter.. I am using apache CXF.. After I have written the service method I am unable to test it using SOAP UI (It is not generating any request).. My question is - Is it possible to receive Collection<?> over web service? I need to receive Collection of any object type.. Please help..
You need to work directly with SOAP messages.
I'm quite new to webservices, recently started implementing Soap Webservice using Spring-WS and client using Axis and Spring. As i understood, we send xml as request for webservice and we get back response xml. These request/response Xmls can then be marshalled/unmarshalled.
Is there a way to directly return a pojo from webservice and get it on client side with out xml marshall/unmarshalling?
We always end up using Apache Axis and using WSDL2JAVA which produces pojo's for you and hides the service implementation. For the marshaling you can use something like XMLBeans to easily marshal between xml and pojos.

Short answer : no.
Following reference indicates ASP.NET automatically creates a WSDL and SOAP request. Where or through what I can see the nuts and bolts?
http://www.w3schools.com/webservices/ws_example.asp
ASP.net generates the WSDL according to the method(WebMethod) signature along with other web service specific attributes.
For example, the method name is web service operation, serialized parameter of the method is part of SOAP request and serialized return object of the method is part of SOAP response.

Your reference is out of date. You should not use ASMX web services for new web service development. Microsoft now considers them to be "legacy technology". You should use WCF for all new web service development.
