I have created a web services with RAMPART implementation.
Flow of the Service :
Sender -> Sign Message Using His private key -> Encrypt Message using Server public Key -> sends to Receiver
Receiver -> authenticate message using sender's Public key -> decrypts Message using his private key -> processes the information.
Issue:
Client is Signing & Encrypting Message & sent to server
Server is authenticating & decypting the message successfully.
Now,
post decrypting the message the server processes the values
& has to respond back to client the status.
on return, I am getting following error:
SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet [AxisServlet] in context with path [/webService] threw exception

Also, i have implemented the service without RAMPART, in that case the response is successful.
Please advice, I am struggling with from past 2 days..
not able to understand what m i missing since Request decryption is successful, but response is throwing exception.
i added the below block and the error was resolve:

I'm writing a small webservice that will persist data in a database. I'm using WSO2 Application Server 5.2.1 and Oracle Database XE 11g and developing/testing on Windows 7.
When I create a Resource in [AppServerHome]/repository/conf/tomcat/context.xml, the code works. When I instead create a Data Source under the Management Console and expose it as a JNDI Data Source, the getConnection call fails with a SQLException.
If I create a Data Service through the Management Console using the Data Source that was also created in the Management Console, the Data Service also works. So that should indicate that the Data Source is valid and working.
I have tried different variations of the jdbc url:
jdbc:oracle:thin:#localhost:1521:xe
jdbc:oracle:thin:#localhost:1521/xe
jdbc:oracle:thin:#localhost:1521:XE
jdbc:oracle:thin:#localhost:1521/XE
I have also tried checking the 'Use Data Source Factory' option, not really understanding what it does. It also has no apparent effect.
I tried following the instructions at https://docs.wso2.com/display/AS520/Exposing+Datasources+as+JNDI+Resources but it also had no effect.
Can anyone help explain why the Data Source is not working for the webapp but the context.xml Resource is? I need to have the Data Source working so that I don't have plain text passwords in the context.xml file, and so that management of the Data Sources and passwords is done strictly through the WSO2 Management Console.
The Resource in context.xml that works is:
<Resource name="jdbc/db1" auth="Container"
type="javax.sql.DataSource" driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" maxWait="10000"
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:#localhost:1521:xe"
username="user" password="aPasswordGoesHere"/>
The Data Source that I create under Management Console contains the following info:
Data Source Type: RDBMS
Name: MyDB
Data Source Provider: default
Driver: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:#localhost:1521:xe
Username: user
Password: aPasswordGoesHere
Expose as a JNDI Data Source:
Name: jdbc/db1
Use Data Source Factory: unchecked
JNDI Properties: none set
Data Source Configuration Parameters:
(No changes made)
And a matching ResourceLink in my META-INF/context.xml
<ResourceLink name="jdbc/db1" global="jdbc/db1" type="javax.sql.DataSource" />
The code used to get the DataSource is:
Connection conn;
try
{
DataSource ds;
Context ctx;
Object obj;
ctx = new InitialContext();
obj = ctx.lookup(jndiName);
ds = (DataSource) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj, DataSource.class);
conn = ds.getConnection();
}
catch (NamingException e)
{
throw new DBException("Failed to get data source from JNDI directory: " + e.getMessage(), e);
}
catch (SQLException e)
{
throw new DBException("Unable to get connection from connection pool: " + e.getMessage(), e);
}
The error i get in wso2carbon.xml is:
TID: [0] [AS] [2016-02-04 15:14:57,007] ERROR {POCDAO} - A DBException occurred {POCDAO}

ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService();
ExchangeCredentials credentials = new WebCredentials(email, password);
service.setCredentials(credentials);
service.setUrl(new java.net.URI("https://" + host
+ "/EWS/Exchange.asmx"));
Folder inbox = Folder.bind(service, WellKnownFolderName.Inbox);
i call the above code from jsp page.

this exception occurs when running the code from a web project that runs on tomcat 7, but when running the code from desktop application it works fine.

UPDATE2: forgot to mention that i am using Cisco jtapi 6.1 library for dealing with IP phones, and after googling i found that the following issue is resolved in latest version of jtapi:
CSCtz31973 : Ews request printed is Null in case of StreamingSubscriptionRequest
what i understand is that the EWS requests is null (cannot send microsoft webservices requests), so i will update the jtapi library and give it a try.
please advise how to fix it.

I followed instructions at
http://www.lahiru.org/2010/07/keep-live-connection-in-wso2-products.html
to correct this problem.
What this says to do is keep the mysql connection available. This required that i add these attributes
wait_timeout=259200
interactive_timeout=259200
and values to the /etc/my.conf file. I restarted and then waited 24 hours to verify and tried logging in again and this time it worked.

The interesting aspect is that when I run the DownloadServer class as a regular java application (not invoked as a web service), i do not get the same exception.
Does anyone have any idea what may be going wrong when the same code is executed as a web service?
OK, I found the answer eventually. Looks like explicitly setting the SOAP action solves the problem. It can be done like this:
options.setAction("urn:getFileServers");
i have a servlet which calls a rest web service using jersey client framework, here's the client code -
response.setContentType("application/json");
String adCategoryId = request.getParameter("adCategoryId");
String requirement = request.getParameter("requirement");
Client client = Client.create();
WebResource wr = client.resource("http://localhost:8080/com.pandora.services/service");
String adResult = wr.path("search-ad").path(requirement).path(adCategoryId).get(String.class);
the code on the service side is this -
#Path("/service")
public class Service {
#GET
#Path("/search-ad/{need}/{query}")
public String searchAd(#PathParam("need") String requirement,#PathParam("query") String id)
{
System.out.println("inside services");
String adResult = "";
AdServiceProvider ad = new AdServiceProviderImpl();
List<AdBean> adBean = ad.getAdById(Long.parseLong(id.trim()),requirement);
adResult = gson.toJson(adBean);
System.out.println(adResult);
return adResult;
}
}
however when i make the call.. i get the following error - Updated

Thanks...
Just two days ago the was a similar question regarding Apache Wink.
The root cause of your problem: media type in your request is incorrect. It should be */* and not just *. The exception is very clear about that.
In the latest version of Wink, it became more forgivable about the incorrect formats of the media type. I don't know what about Jersey. But IMO it's better to fix the root problem.
My guess that the incorrect header in your case it "Accept". You can verify it using any HTTP Sniffer (e.g. Fiddler). So if you set the correct Accept header on your request, it should fix the problem.
