Find and replace digits not in brackets in Notepad++ - replace

I have a Latex document that looks like
Hello, my figure \ref{figure1} has an ecuation $e=mc^2$ with a mass of 10.5Kg or 20.5 Kg.
I want to use the siunitx package, so my goal is to convert the text to
Hello, my figure \ref{figure1} has an ecuation $e=mc^2$ with a mass of \SI{10.5}{Kg} or \SI{20.5}{Kg}.
How can I find any digits with or without decimal places, followed by a word with or without an empty space between them. Find only those that are not between {} or $$. Replace the match with \SI{digit found}{word after digit}
Any suggestions would be helpfull. Ideally using notepad++ but open to use Python, Sed...

How about:
Find what: (?<!\{)(?<!\$)\b(\d+(?:\.\d+)?)(?!=\})(?!=\$)\s*([a-zA-Z]+)
Replace with: \\SI{$1}{$2}

Notepad++ RegEX how do I append a character based on start of the character and before a character?

I would like to append _OLD to the end of each strings that starts with SR_ but before the symbol ' or without it
For example my text is the following:
SR_Apple
When the 'SR_APPLE' rotten, we must discard it.
I would like the find and replace to do:
SR_Apple_OLD
When the 'SR_APPLE_OLD' rotten, we must discard it.
I have tried (SR_*)+$.*(?='\s) based on what i Learned but no luck so far. Please help. Thx in Adv
For simple cases you should be able to use
Find: (\bSR_[\w]+)
Replace: $1_OLD
(\bSR_.+?)('|$) and $1_OLD$2 could also work if the text after SR_ is more complex
The lookbehind you're using is only matching the string if it ends with a ' so it won't find the text not in quotes.

Remove all text except a certain string in Notepad++

I'm extracting case numbers from a wall of text. How do I filter out all the useless text using the replace function in Notepad++ with the help of RegEx? The parts I want to keep are made up of letters, digits, and a hyphen (SPP-1803-2045227).
I would like to turn this...
(SPP-1803-2045227)Useless text goes here. 2019-05-18 *
(SPP-1915-1802667)More useless text. 2019-01-14 *
(SPP-1904-1012523)And some more. 2019-02-03 *
...into this:
SPP-1803-2045227
SPP-1915-1802667
SPP-1904-1012523
I've been playing around with RegEx and also found something in another thread on here before, which wasn't the solution but came very close. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore. It looked something like this:
^(?!S\w+).*\r?\n?
Any help is appreciated.
you could try something like this.
find: .*\((\w{3}-\d{4}-\d{7})\).*
replace with: \1
The above Regular Expression matches the whole line with your letters and digits between an extra pair of parentheses.
When you replace with \1 you keep only the match between parentheses.
Remember to select Regular Expression Search mode.

RegEx in Notepad++ to find a wild character and replace the whole word

I have a test file with number values as below:
32405494
32405495
32405496
32407498
Using Notepad++, what I am trying to achieve here is to search the first 4 digits using regular expression and replace the whole number with G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL
I am able to find these values using 3240*. My question is, how do I replace the whole number with G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL?
When I am click the Replace All button, I get the following output:
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL5494
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL5495
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL5496
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL7498
However, I am expecting the following:
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL
G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL
Any ideas to achieve this? Is it even possible through Notepad++? Are there any other text editors which I can use to achieve this?
Use something like this:
3240.*
. is the wildcard character in regex and * means that the previous character is to be repeated 0 or more times (your current regex actually matches 324 and then 0 which appears 0 or more times).
3240.* will therefore match 3240 and any other following characters.
You might also want to add a line anchor:
^3240.*
So that you don't replace numbers having 3240 in the middle too.
in notepad++, you can use this regex:
^3240\d+
it will match the four digits you're searching at the beginning of your string followed by any digit.
Try this -
Search this - ^3240\d*$
Replace with- G3E_STYLERULE_SEQ.NEXTVAL

Sublime Text 2 - Regular Expression Find and Replace

I am looking for a solution to find and replace the formatting of many prices within one of my documents.
I currently have prices that are formatting like so: $60 and would like to change the formatting to: 60 $
The following 'Find What' works to find the first format \$\d{0,2} but not too sure about what to 'Replace With'.
Is there a way to preserve the number?
Thank you.
Try this:
find: \$(\d{0,2})
replace: \1 $
Option+Cmd+F:
Place into the find field:
\$([0-9]{0,2})
Place into the replace field:
\1 \$
The backslash + number indicated which capture group to place in there.

Replace text with regular expressions in a text editor

I need to edit lines in a text file.
The text files contains more than 100 lines of data in the below format.
Cosmos Rh Us (Paperback) $10.99 Shipped:
The Good Earth (Paperback) $6.66 Shipped:
BEST OF D.H. LAWRENCE (Paperback) $7.89 Shipped:
...
These are excerpts from the online book shop I use to buy books
I have this data in a test editor. How do I edit it [Fine/Replace] such that the data becomes like this
$10.99
$6.66
$7.89
or better, without the dollar sign, since it'll be easy total it.
I use notepad++ as text editor.
Search for (don't forget to enable regular expressions in the replace box!)
^.*\$(\d+\.\d+).*$
and replace all with
\1
You could simply match full lines and capture all numbers after the $ sign:
Find what: ^[^$]*\$(\d+\.\d+).*$
Replace with: $1
Make sure that you don't check the ". matches newline" option. And note that this will behave unexpectedly if you have multiple $ signs in a line.
You might need to update to Notepad++ 6. Before that some regex features were not working properly.
Find:
((?<=\$)[\d\.]+)
Replace With:
\1 or $1 (whichever Notepad++ uses)
first regex will be replaced with nothing
[a-zA-Z0-9].*\)
second regex will be replaced with nothing
[a-zA-Z]+\:
