OpenCV: libdc1394 error: Failed to initialize libdc1394 - python-2.7

I installed OpenCV correctly on Ubuntu 14.04. However, when I run: import cv2 I get this error message:
>>> import cv2
libdc1394 error: Failed to initialize libdc1394
I read the answers to this question (and the different links posted there such as this interesting but finally useless one for my case) but no solution worked for me. I have no such file /dev/raw1394. So I installed the library:
sudo apt-get install libdc1394-22-dev libdc1394-22 libdc1394-utils
But still get the same error.
Note that this answer is the only one that works for me, however I can not pick it because I need to use camera in my application.
How can I resolve this ?

Maybe disabling the driver isn't the best solution, but so far this hasn't given me any problems and was the easiest way I found to solve the issue:
sudo ln /dev/null /dev/raw1394
Attention: It is not a permanent solution.

I vaguely remember a similar problem I once had. It has something to do with user-level permission to firewire devices. You need to add a new udev rule. Create a file /etc/udev/rules.d/raw1394.rules and add the following line:
KERNEL=="raw1394", GROUP="video"

Python2 required as dependencie but already installed

First of all, sorry for my english and sorry for taking your time, I'm pretty sure the answers are online but it seems like I can't find the right keywords for this issue.
The problem: Python2 is installed but still asked as a dependency for every python2 module I want to install with my package manager.
I built python2 from source on Archlinux in a proot environment
(because I use termux on a non rooted phone and it's probably why yay did not worked as expected to install python2) and I think I did it well because "python2" open the python command line and "python2 -V" return me "Python 2.7.18", i can execute python scripts with it, etc.
I built python by downloading and uncompressing python2 from python.org, then in the uncompressed file ./configure --enable-optimization , make -s and make install.
I'm a noob so i don't know but i probably just need a way to handle python2 with pacman or a way to tell pacman that python2 is indeed installed.

I know to handle manualy built pkgs with pacman, but not software built from source. So i'v found a PKGBUILD for python2 but (again, probably because of the proot) when i use makepkg here what's happen :

PS : I know python2 is deprecated and as it's not updated anymore the security is getting worse and worse, but it's not for my main setup so don't worry. I also think i could install modules manually but it is not something i wish to do since i'd like to install the all BlackArch repo.

omz_urlencode:42: -regex-match not available for regex

Okay so i'm trying to install Homebrew, so that I can I can install nodejs and npm. However I'm using this command from brew.sh;

Once I install Homebrew It keeps returning this error
It appears Homebrew is already installed. If your intent is to reinstall you

I honestly have no idea what's happening here. I'm not sure If I have to symlink Homebrew up or what. But I have tried everything I know so far (which isn't much). If anyone could be kind enough to give me instructions as what too look for to solve the issue, I'm all ears.

It seems it's a bug that have been corrected in recent version of OMZ, you should update it.
You get the output:
zsh: command not found: homebrew
Because homebrew is not a command. Try brew -v instead.
To resolve:
Warning: node-5.10.1 already installed, it's just not linked
Use brew link node
Okay so I think I have made some progress, It may have been for some weird reason I didn't have permission writes to run the 'brew link < package > ' so i ran the following command:
'sudo chown -R /usr/local/share/systemtap/tapset && brew doctor'
Once I ran 'brew link node' it successfully created 7 symlinks for the node directory on the following path;
'Linking /usr/local/Cellar/node/5.10.1... 7 symlinks created'
However, when I installed live-server via npm; I typed 'live-server -v' and it again returned 'zsh: command not found: live-server'. In addition to this it keeps telling me I have 'unbrewed dylibs':
Warning: Unbrewed dylibs were found in /usr/local/lib.
If you didn't put them there on purpose they could cause problems when
building Homebrew formulae, and may need to be deleted.
Unexpected dylibs:
/usr/local/lib/libociei.dylib
So im still unsure what the exact issue is.
P.S. Apologies for not posting this correctly, as im trying to see where I can seperate it into commands like you corrected in the first post, if you could link me to a post where it tells me how to use it properly i'll be more than happy to read it.

koji build : 'no package found for libcman.so.3'

I'm using a koji to build a package. In error, it's saying:
Error: Package: pacemaker-cluster-libs-1.1.10-14.el6.x86_64 (build)
Requires: libcman.so.3()(64bit)
What does it exactly mean?
'libcman.so' is in the package 'cluster'. Then I built the clusterlib, and add it into my build, but didn't fix the problem after I put 'cluster' into 'BuildRequires' since another problem 'no package found for cluster' came out.
I think I'm not on the correct track.
I didn't fix it, but did some work around to avoid it. It's '.so', so I don't think the python module I build really need it here. So I commented it out from the spec file. and Just ensure I have these packages installed at the server before I install the new python module.

ocropus installation on Ubuntu 11.04

I need to install ocropus on Ubuntu 11.04.
I went through a long and painful process of trying ocropus 0.3 and 0.4 from the project's Downloads page, but to no avail - I could find no way of making it locate tesseract, which it recommended. I labored on Google and came across the page http://code.google.com/p/ocropus/wiki/InstallTranscript.
Great. Except when I issue the command:
hg clone $release https://ocropus.googlecode.com/hg/ ocropus
I get the error message:
abort: unknown revision 'ocropus-0.4.4'!
A post here http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=13444 by the maintainer of the ocropus package for archlinux says
they have completely refactored ocropus and at the same time they have also completely removed the old repository so it's not possible to access the old "stable" versions. I suggest using the ocropus-hg package, at least for the time being.
I thought I would go ahead with this idea and issued the command:
hg clone https://ocropus.googlecode.com/hg/ ocropus #I deftly avoid any
mention of the release
The result is I get a folder with a file interestingly named ocroinst. I run it and it says I need to run the following commands:
sudo ./ocroinst packages #checks the dependencies
./ocroinst install #installs ocropus
sudo ./ocroinst dl #downloads models
I was glad and I issued the first command, which is when I got the message:
Package libjpeg8-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package libjpeg8-dev has no installation candidate

The situation, with an delicious added complication, is this:
(please correct me if I am wrong)
Ubuntu 11.04 comes with libjpeg62-dev. The required version for ocropus is libjpeg8-dev.
Ocropus requires libtiff4-dev, and libtiff4-dev depends on libjpeg62-dev. Therefore there is no way for me to uninstall libjpeg62-dev.
libjpeg62-dev conflicts with libjpeg8-dev. Therefore, I can have only one of libjpeg8-dev or libjpeg62-dev, and never both.
If libjpeg8-dev is installed, I will have no libjpeg62-dev, which means I must remove libtiff4-dev and therefore have no way to install ocropus.
If libjpeg62-dev is installed, I will have no libjpeg8-dev and thus I will have no way to install ocropus.
NOTE:
(An experiment description)
I had libjpeg62-dev installed on the system already. I figured I could take a chance and I went right ahead and changed every libjpeg8-dev I could find to libjpeg-dev, and ran the 3 commands.
It installed. No error.
This gave me great joy
until
I ran the command
ocropus <image-file-name>
and I was greeted by the charming:
ImportError: /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/_iulib.so: undefined symbol: _ZN5iulib6dcloseEv
The more sophisticated
ocropus book2pages out image*
failed with the same error. A post on stack overflow indicates that this is caused by incorrectly versioned libraries.
THE QUESTION:
How should I proceed?

Install pycairo or py2cairo using buildout

Does anyone have any experience with trying to install cairo for django using buildout?
It will install pycairo or py2cairo (the first is for python >3.0, the latest is for python 2.6, which I Am using)
I found 2 recipes to use for installation, both of them gives me errors, in buildout.cfg I have them as 2 parts (of course tried them seperately, not thogether).
The errors are totally different, but the result is the same: I can't get cairo installed using buildout.......

By the way, I had the same kind of headache trying to install PIL by buildout, which I solved combining a lot of options and posts on the internet, together with a lot of time and trials and errors.
If anyone want to know how I finally got it working, just ask, and I will publish it.
(I consider myselve still a django starter, so I do not know for sure if anyone is interested in the solution)
PIL does not have all the options I found in cairo, so I started using cairo. On my local PC everything works fine (ubuntu desktop), on my server (Ubuntu server) I can't getting it to work......
Any other options for making drawings on the fly..... (like matplotlib...) let me know.
Pretty sure you have to give the real md5 hash to the pycairo-md5 option instead of a string with some url in it.
I would avoid specialized recipes like those two whenever possible. There are some cases when a specialized recipe really is needed, but those are cases where the dependency is so egregiously eccentric that no common build/install pattern is usable. I don't know pycairo so that may be the case.
But before assuming it is, try the following. Always try using an egg first by adding it to the eggs option of the relevant buildout part. If that doesn't work, update your question with those details, and then try adding a separate zc.recipe.egg part with build options that may help the distribution build successfully. If that doesn't work or the distribution uses a ./configure && make && make install (AKA "CMMI") build system, update your question with those details, and then try using zc.recipe.cmmi to build the package after which you can use the extra-paths option of your zc.recipe.egg part to include the relevant bits of the CMMI part (extra-paths = ${cmmi-part:location}/weird/path/to/python/modules).
This is the general dance for getting poorly/oddly behaved distributions. If this doesn't work, then a specialized recipe may be in order but in general there's a way to get it to work with the above and that will be much more maintainable.
