I have downloaded Xenocode Postbuild 2009 for .Net (Beta) and installed it. I also have MS .Net Framework 3.5, 4, 4.5 properly installed on my PC. But Xenocode Postbuild is not running. When I double click on it, nothing comes up.

Xcode 8 Quick Help Not Working

I have Xcode 8.2.1 and have the Documentation installed (Preferences/Components/Documentation), but the Quick Help inspector and Option + Click both show "No Quick Help" and a button to "Search Documentation". I even tried in Terminal -defaults delete com.apple.dt.Xcode IDEIndexDisable but I received Domain (com.apple.dt.Xcode) not found.
Defaults have not been changed. What am I missing?
I resolved it by deleting Xcode 8 from Applications, all items in ~/Library/Developer and the com.apple.dt.Xcode.plist file in /Library/Preferences. I then rebooted, emptied the Trash, downloaded and installed Xcode from the App store. I think this problem was a result of upgrading to Xcode 8 over Xcode 7, but not completely sure. Anyway, Quick Help works now and I can search the documentation when before it was stuck on "Loading".
I've run into this several times when upgrading Xcode and have made it a practice to remove the old version before installing the new. Great job and tutorial!

"No debugger set up" in Qt 5.4 [duplicate]

This question already has an answer here:
Qt Creator 5 - No debugger set up
(1 answer)
Closed 8 years ago.
I have installed Qt Creator (Qt 5.4). When I debug my Qt project it wouldn't and says 'No debugger set up'.
Now I already have VC-2010 on my computer and I obviously have debugger (I verified all works) but do I have to download another debugger for Qt Creator? How do I configure the debugger to work?
It should detect it automatically.
Try to:
close QtCreator
Backup and Delete (or just rename) C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\QtProject folder.
start QtCreator again
it should detect CDB in C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows 64-bit\cdb.exe or something like this
Alternatively, you could add it manually, by clicking Add button.
Additionaly:
check that you have MSVC2010 Qt package installed
why do you use 5 years old Visual Studio 2010, when the latest version is 2013 and it has free "Pro" version (Community edition) and it's has much better compiler and GUI?
Thanks guys, I got clues from the links and figured it out but I am going to post the answer for what I did to resolve the issue. It is a little more complicated in the linked posts.
I thought I was all set since I had VC2010 installed but not so. It turns out I also had to install Windows SDK and since I am using widows 7, that was "Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1"
This alone fixed it and didn't have to do anything else.
** Good to know **
Another thing I learned was even though I had VS2010-SP1 installed, apparently there is VC2010-compiler-SP1 as well. It was that when I was installing let me k now that I need to install SDK first.
After I installed SDK, there is 'Windows SDK Configure tool' menu option that appeared in my windows start menu but I didn't run it and restarted Qt Creator, and the debugger was already working so I didn't have to run the configure too.!
When I started Qt Creator it bring up this dialog press Ok and all done.
Just download and install this one http://download.qt-project.org/official_releases/qt/5.4/5.4.0/qt-opensource-windows-x86-mingw491_opengl-5.4.0.exe and every thing is setup for you

RubyMine fails to start on Yosemite

RubyMine won't start under Yosemite, no loading screen, no error message.
This seems to be caused by the default JVM that comes with Yosemite
EDIT This also seems to affect WebStorm
This solution is controversial - please read all of it before applying changes!
Open this file
Check the version of Java, most likely 1.8, by using java -version, you should see something like:
java version "1.8.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_20-b26)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.20-b23, mixed mode)
Open and edit
/Applications/RubyMine.app/Contents/Info.plist
Or for WebStorm
/Applications/WebStorm.app/Contents/Info.plist
Update the following key
<key>JVMVersion</key>
<string>1.7*</string>
to
<key>JVMVersion</key>
<string>1.8*</string>
RubyMine should now be good to go
Feedback on this solution
JetBrains do not recommend this solution as it will break autoupdating with patches. That tradeoff was acceptable for me as I just wanted to get going quickly and avoid installing Java 1.6.

You shouldn't edit your plist file since it will prevent Rubymine from autoupdating. This is direct from their support pages:
Modifying Info.plist will break the application digital signature and prevent the patch updates. We do not recommend modifying Info.plist file to run under JDK 1.7 or 1.8.

The correct answer is to install Apple JDK 1.6
JDK 1.6 is required to run and may be missing on your system. Please install Apple JDK 1.6. There should be a window with the suggestion to install Java when you start the product for the first time, but it could be hidden by other application windows.
Apple JDK 1.6 download: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572.
I have tried to down load the JDK 1.6, it works in my Mac.
Just install java for OS X, and it'll solve the issue.
Up till OS X El Capitan(10.11), this link solves. Or you can just google "java for osx", most probably first link will show you the right answer.

Windows Mobile Hopper Test Tool, FocusApp

Hi recently I finished my WM6 Pro.6.1 application and happily learned that to put it into marketplace, it has to pass some tests.
-Application Verifier
-Microsoft Hopper Test Tool for Windows Mobile 6.0, 6.1, and 6.5
I use VS 2008 and windows mobile 6.1 and I couldnt run none of these tests, Hopeer tool has a FocusApp c++ application which I must build and run before testing, but its a VS 2005 project and I couldnt run it on VS 200..and without it I can't test anything.
any ideas how can I build that for VS2008?
There are a number of tips for this process in this blog post:
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_phone/b/wmdev/archive/2010/02/18/windows-marketplace-for-mobile-certification-testing-hopper-and-multiple-screen-support.aspx
Try these first. If they don't work post more information on what specific problems you're having.

Flex Builder 3 debug flash player fails to install

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 (not sure if that's related) and after re-installing Flex 3, I get the error that I'm using a non-debug version of Flash Player (when trying to run debug on a project).
That makes sense, so I go to install the latest version of the debugger, but when I go to adobe for it: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html I get an error on install saying that it's not the latest version of Flash. When I go to the link provided, it doesn't have the option of pulling the debug version.
Any suggestions?
Paul
Install the debug build for Flash Player 10 instead of 9 or the other way. That is how it got fixed on mine.
found the answer here: http://blogu.lu/mrm/2010/03/uninstalling-flash-player-like-really-uninstalling/
worked like a charm
