I've got the assignment to write a pacman game using qt creator and c++. I know that QT Quick is better suited for games but i've got no option. The only problem is i am a little bit lost because the documentation of qt is great but there is massive amount of it. Could you provide me some tutorials or links to the documentation where to start?
I would be grateful.

Try to give a look at the QGraphisView and the Animation framework examples, probably they are a good starting point.

I would like to implement any maps (OSM, Google maps...) in my Qt Widget application (only targeting Windows platforms).
All answers I got so far is really out-dated (answers from 2011-2013) and I am not able to google anything useful. So I wanted to ask which frameworks could you recommend me?
We are using the osgEarth SDK in our Qt applications. It supports OSM and basically every map type that is supported by GDAL.

I'm going to make a realtime multiplayer game using the WebSocket technology. However, I am unsure which server implementation I should use. I've found two mature (enough) libraries that suit my needs. libwebsockets and WebSockets++.
Did anyone try them out? Can someone point out the main differences between these two libraries?
You can have a look at QWebSockets, which is written in Qt and works both for clients and servers.

I'm looking for a way in which I can align/format text output to the terminal window in C++, independent of the terminal window's size (I'm not looking to use iomanip with setw() or whatever). There is a library out there that allows for this, it begins with "n" I think, but I can't for the life of my find it. Honestly, I have thoroughly searched google, wikipedia etc and I just can't find it without knowing the name of it.
Thanks very much!
I think you are looking for the Gnu ncurses libary.

Install the Visual C++ Feature Pack. It comes with newer libraries to do this.

Is there any opensource/sample application in qt/c++, just like desktopdock or objectdock..?
XQDE is an OSX-style dock written in Qt.
You could check out the demos and examples section of the documentation:
QT Demos
QT Examples
The demos are slightly larger than the examples, while the examples are focused on showing a specific feature - and good Qt programming. There's also the tutorial, here, which covers the entire development of two simple apps.
