failed to load: coldfusion.rest.servlet.CFRestServlet? - coldfusion

Tried CF10 Restful API and this is what I get:

Anyone encountered this?
I tried all possible paths.... even include the cfusion or instance name, CF just doesn't work.

Fixed by re-installing CF10.
There was a dangling rest endpoint that could not be deleted before I reinstall. I guess that was related.

CFWheels Error: Element RETURNVALUE is undefined in LOC

I have a legacy site using CFWheels v. 1.3.3
It's hosted using ColdFusion 2018.
I haven't changed anything on the site for a couple of years and all appeared to be working fine until recently when I got this error:

Turns out the host of the site had made the public images folder unreadable and that was causing the problem. I thought I would post the solution in case anyone else experiences this problem.
loc is an object and the code expects it will have a property named returnValue. The error is stating that the property with the name returnValue doesn't exist on the object.
Looking into the /wheels/events/onerror.cfm and then back to the /wheels/global/cfml.cfm file where $simpleLock is defined tells me there may be some underlying problem with configuration. Hard to nail it down. Safest bet is to restart the application. Generally done through URL parameters. If you can't figure that out, maybe just restart the ColdFusion instance and hope it fixes it.
At the end, ColdFusion is having a hard time invoking a component, but hard to tell which one without more error output.

Birt Viewer DataException(Birt-Viewer is not able to show chart, org.eclipse.birt.data.engine.core.DataException is coming with Birt 4.4.2 and jetty)

I'm trying to exceute a birt report (having crosstab and graph of hourly network node statistics), using birt 4.4.2 runtime and jetty. But it is giving the following error. With birt 4.2.2 runtime the same report was running fine.
But after replacing all the 4.2.2 jars with 4.4.2 jars in eclipse and also deploying //lib/birt-runtime-4_4_2/WebViewerExample/WEB-INF/lib, the report is not working. Below is the stacktrace of the error and full stacktrace is attached. Please let me know if anything else is required.

Not sure if this will help, but we had similar problem a week ago and today again. Solved it with: we uninstalled BIRT from server and installed it back on (the very same export apart from our report template was one tiny bit updated). Reports were running fine afterwards.
I guess next week we'll just reinstall BIRT again...

avoid akka terminate webapp JVM Process

How do I avoid Akka terminate the JVM PROCESS when some unexpected exception occurs?. I think it is a big problem.
Akka should never kill the jvm process of my webapp.
I am using play framework 2.3.

Thanks.
The solution was add the following to my application.conf in my playframework app:
akka{
jvm-exit-on-fatal-error = off
}
That's the way I can override the default parameters of akka in a play app. Thanks to All.

My webservice project is about two years old and its structure has never changed since than. The structure is:
Webservices.war|-----axis2-web
|-----META-INF|
|------MANIFEST.MF
|-----WEB-INF |
|------web.xml
|------sources.....
And there has never been a file called "ServiceData.xml".
I use Tomcat 7.0_39 with Axis2 1.5.6. The webservice component was implemented with Java 1.7.0_21.
Is it possible that this error previously appeared without have been logged yet? -I changed the logging behaviour of the webservices with the last deployment.
I found some hints to rename the "services.xml" to "ServiceData.xml", but is this really a proper solution?
Thanks in advance!
This solution worked for me:
The exception seems to have no impact since there is the services.xml in folder
webapps/WebServices/WEB-INF/services/WebService/META-INF
Therefore one can ignore this exception. Nevertheless an exception always indicates an error and therefore it should be solved.
I found a solution, which is not satifying but prevents the exception from occurring:
Copy the services.xml in the folder above and rename it to ServiceData.xml. The exception will never occur! To simply place an empty file named ServiceData.xml does not work! The ServiceData.xml must contain the same information as the file services.xml!
This is unfortunately a practical, but not a good solution, because it fixes not the cause of this exception but the impact.
If there is a better solution please contribute here!

The (initialization failure) means that some prior error has occurred that is causing this class to not be loaded. Is there any additional Caused by: that you have not included? If not, I recommend looking elsewhere through your logs for a stack trace that includes WSATGenerator.<clinit>, which should have the original exception. If you can't find anything, then I recommend opening a PMR with IBM.
