I have an application using ember-couchdb-kit to interface with a CouchDB instance. I am having difficulty accessing the server after requiring authentication.
I tried cookie authentication and the cookie gets set in the browser, but it isn't sent to the database for subsequent requests according to the network dialog in both Chrome and Firefox.
I don't understand why this is happening, but in the pursuit of getting the application working, I wanted to try HTTP auth.
My document adapter is just:

The adapter isn't recreated each time it's used, and reopen only applies to newly created instanes. As such you'll need to redefine it on the already existing adapter instance. Inside a route/controller you could do it like so:

I have a webapp made with Next.js and Apollo as show in example with-apollo. I want to serve multiple domains with my webapp (name-based virtual hosting). Unfortunately HttpLink of ApolloClient requires absolute server URL with domain but this makes backend app unable to recognize domain which user really visited. Is there a way to configure HttpLink with a dynamic URL based on real request or use relative URL or anything else?
Either use an Apollo Link to intercept the query and set uri property on the context

The NextPageContext object passed to getInitialProps includes the req object when called on the server-side. So you can do something like:

You can then pass this base url down to createApolloClient along with the initial state and prepend your HttpLink's url with it. On the client side, this will prepend an empty string (you only need the full URL on the server).
I made an Angular application able use an online api to get a json and do stuff.
But, although the json is the same, if I try to change only the url of the json by setting a local url of a server written in django, angular would seem not to connect anymore ...
My question is, why if with an online cloud server works, with a local one wouldn't?
I tried making this server "on cloud" opening the router's port, also setting up a ddns, and using postman or a browser it seems to work, but when i try to connect with angular it still doesn't get the data...
I am sure 100% that the server answer, with the right json data, because django prints on console that he received a HTTP GET request :

Based on feedback, this is a CORS issue. Your Django server is getting the requests and responding because localhost is an implicitly trusted domain in Django's dev environment, but it isn't configured properly to set the cross origin header, so the browser is not allowing your app to see the response because the server hasn't authorized the domain explicitly.
The problem here is that you've set CORS white list like this:

it needs to be like this:
CORS_ORIGIN_WHITELIST = ( 'localhost:4200' )
angular runs on localhost, not 127.0.0.1, even though that's what localhost is an alias for, your browser still differentiates them for CORS. Also, you do not need to whitelist the domain your serving off of, that's not crossing any origin as it's the same origin.
In your screenshot, it looks like the response is type "document..." something. The simplest fix, with only the code here, is to convert the string to JSON.

This is the wrong answer, because it's being set to that because of the CORS issue in the other answers.
Identity server is implemented and working well. Google login is working and is returning several claims including email.
Facebook login is working, and my app is live and requests email permissions when a new user logs in.
The problem is that I can't get the email back from the oauth endpoint and I can't seem to find the access_token to manually request user information. All I have is a "code" returned from the facebook login endpoint.
Here's the IdentityServer setup.

Digging through the source code for identity server, I realized that there are some claims things happening to transform facebook claims, so I extended that class to debug into it and see if it was stripping out any claims, which it's not.

I saw the code parameter on that last call and thought that maybe I could use the code there to get the access_token from the facebook API https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/manually-build-a-login-flow
However when I tried that I get a message from the API telling me the code has already been used.
I also tried to change the UserInformationEndpoint to the FacebookAuthenticationOptions to force it to ask for the email by appending ?fields=email to the end of the default endpoint location, but that causes identity server to spit out the error "There was an error logging into the external provider. The error message is: access_denied".
I might be able to fix this all if I can change the middleware to send the request with response_type=id_token but I can't figure out how to do that or how to extract that access token when it gets returned in the first place to be able to use the Facebook C# sdk.
So I guess any help or direction at all would be awesome. I've spent countless hours researching and trying to solve the problem. All I need to do is get the email address of the logged-in user via IdentityServer3. Doesn't sound so hard and yet I'm stuck.
I finally figured this out. The answer has something to do with Mitra's comments although neither of those answers quite seemed to fit the bill, so I'm putting another one here. First, you need to request the access_token, not code (authorization code) from Facebook's Authentication endpoint. To do that, set it up like this

Then, you need to catch the response once it's logged in. I'm using the following file from the IdentityServer3 Samples Repository, which overrides (read, provides functionality) for the methods necessary to log a user in from external sites. From this response, I'm using the C# Facebook SDK with the newly returned access_token claim in the ExternalAuthenticationContext to request the fields I need and add them to the list of claims. Then I can use that information to create/log in the user.

Edit: the GetAdditionalFacebookClaims method is simply a method that creates a new FacebookClient given the access token that was pulled out and queries the Facebook API for the other user claims you need. For example, my method looks like this:

My impression is that if you use 'set-cookie' one should be able to see an additional 'set-cookie' in the .toSource. (I am trying to accomplish this on Google Apps Site if that makes a difference.) When you aren't logged in Google Sites won't set any cookies in the response. UrlFetchApp doesn't pass along your Google cookies, so it will behave as if you are logged out.
First the cookie you want to send whose name is 'test' does not have a value. You should send 'test=somevalue'.
Second I am wondering if you are trying to send the cookie to the googlesite server and ask it to reply with the same cookie you previously sent... ?
I am thinking you are trying to act as a HTTP server beside you are a HTTP client.
As a HTTP client your role is only to send back any cookies that the HTTP server have previously sent to you (respecting the domain, expiration... params).
First off, if there is a true, official way of having flash/flex's NetConnections usurp the session/cookie state of the surrounding web page, so that if the user has already logged in, they don't need to provide credentials again just to set up an AMF connection, please stop me now and post the official answer.
Barring that, I'm assuming there is not, as I have searched and it seems to not exist. I've concocted a means of doing this, but want some feedback as to whether it is secure.
Accessing a wrapper-page for a flash object will always go to secure https due to django middleware
When the page view is loaded in Django, it creates a "session alias" object with a unique key that points to the current session in play (in which someone ostensibly logged in)
That session alias model is saved, and that key is placed into a cookie whose key is another random string, call it randomcookie
That randomcookie key name is passed as a context variable and written into the html as a flashvar to the swf
The swf is also loaded only via https
The flash application uses ExternalInterface to call java to grab the value at that randomcookie location, and also deletes the cookie
It then creates a NetConnection to a secure server https location, passing that randomcookie as an argument (data, not in the url) to a login-using-cookie rpc
At the gateway side, pyamf looks up the session alias and gets the session it points to, and logs in the user based on that (and deletes the alias, so it can't be reused)
(And the gateway request could also set the session cookie and session.session_key to the known session ID, but I could let it make a whole new session key... I'm assuming that doing so should affect the response properly so that it contains the correct session key)
At this point, the returned cookie values on the flash side should stick to the NetConnection so that further calls are authenticated (if a connection is authenticated using username and password the normal way, this definitely works, so I think this is a safe bet, testing will soon prove or disprove this)
So, is this unsafe, or will this work properly? As far as I know, since the html page is guaranteed to be over ssl, the key and cookie data should be encrypted and not steal-able. Then, the info therein should be safe to use one-time as basically a temporary password, sent again over ssl because the gateway is also https. After that, it's using the normal pyAMF system over https and not doing anything out of the ordinary.
No responses on this so far, so the best I can do is confirm that it does in fact physically work. The above was accomplished using a combination of the aforementioned, plus:

And at that point, on the flash/flex side, that particular mynetconnection retains the session cookie state that can make future calls such that, inside the gateway, request.user is the properly-authenticated user that logged onto the webpage in the first place.
Note again that the run/debug settings for flex must use https, as well as the gateway settings for NetConnection. And when releasing this, I have to make sure that authenticated users stay on https.
Any further info from people would be appreciated, especially if there's real feedback on the security aspects of this...
IE doesn't give access to cookies in local development but if you publish the SWF and put on a domain, it should pickup the session just like ever other browser. Use Firefox 3.6 to build your flex apps locally.
Tested in IE8, Firefox using a pyamf gateway on Flex 3 with NetConnection. The gateway function was decorated with #login_required
