I am trying to write a pattern match to only match when a string is not followed by both following patterns. Right now I have a pattern that I've tried to manipulate but I can't seem to get it to match correctly.
Current pattern:
/(address|alias|parents|members|notes|host|name)(?!(\t{5}|\S+))/
I am trying to match when a string is not spaced correctly but not if it is part of a larger word.
For example I want it to match,
host \t{4} something
but not,
hostgroup \t{5} something
In the above example it will match hostgroup and end up separating it into 2 separate words "host" and "group"
Match:
notes \t{4} something
but not,
notes_url \t{5} something
Using my pattern it ends up turning into:
notes \t{5} _url
Hopefully that makes a bit more sense.
I'm not at all clear what you want, but word boundaries will probably do what you ask.

Given the shared patterns, it seems you're looking for a regex like the following:
[A-Za-z ]+|\d+,\d+
It matches two patterns:
[A-Za-z ]+: any combination of letters and spaces
\d+,\d+: any combination of digits + a comma + any combination of digits

If you want a more strict regex, you can include the previous pattern between a lookbehind and a lookahead, so that you're sure that every match is preceeded by either a comma, a # or a start/end of string character.

I'm hoping someone can help with some regular expression. I'm trying find instances where two patterns exist in a string (I think I'm saying that right).
Here is my test string:
{"eventid": 2121, "username":"FRED", "starttime": "1550243080", "newprocessname": "C:\\Windows\\System32\\wbem\\WmiPrvSE.exe", "parentprocessname": "C:\\Windows\\System32\\svchost.exe"}
I want to be able to search based on one or more criteria. The problem I have is when multiple criteria is provided. For example, the following seems to match if username is good or newprocessname is good whereas I want it to match only if both are good.
("username"\s*:\s*"(.*?)FRED(.*?)")|("newprocessname"\s*:\s*"(.*?)WINDOWS(.*?)")
I think my patterns are right, but how do I return a result only if both patterns match?

If you're using a regex library that supports lookaheads you can use this regex:
^(?=.*"username"\s*:\s*"([^"]*)FRED([^"]*)")(?=.*"newprocessname"\s*:\s*"([^"]*)WINDOWS([^"]*)")
It looks for both the username and newprocessname tags at the same time (as the lookaheads don't consume any characters). Note that you need to change .*? in your regex to [^"]* otherwise you can match text further into the string than the actual value associated with the tag name.

I'm trying to create a regex, which will capture everything from a string, except for specific parts of the string. The he best place to start seems to be using groups.
For example, I want to capture everything except for "production" and "public" from a string.
Sample input:
california-public-local-card-production
production-nevada-public
Would give output
california-local-card
nevada
On https://regex101.com/ I can extract the strings I don't want with
(production|public)\g
But how to capture the things I want instead?
The following will kind of get me the word from between production and public, but not anything before or after https://regex101.com/r/f5xLLr/2 :
(production|public)-?(\w*)\g
Flipping it and going for \s\S actually gives me what I need in two separate subgroups (group2 in both matches) https://regex101.com/r/ItlXk5/1 :
(([\s\S]*?)(production|public))\g
But how to combine the results? Ideally I would like to extract them as a separate named group , this is where I've gotten to https://regex101.com/r/scWxh5/1 :
(([\s\S]*?)(production|public))(?P<app>\2)\g
But this breaks the group2 matchings and gets me empty strings. What else should I try?

Which seems to be impossible to solve in regex.
A regexp match is always a continuous range of the sample string. Thus, the anwswer is "No, you cannot write a regexp which matches a series of concatenated substrings as described in the question".
But, this popular kind of task is being solved very easily by replacing unnecessary words by empty strings. Like
s/-production|production-|-public|public-//g
(Or an equivalent in a language you're using)
Note. Provided that \b is supported, it would be more correct to spell it as
s/-production\b|\bproduction-|-public\b|\bpublic-//g
(to avoid matching words like 'subproduction' or 'publication')
Your regex is nearly there:
([\s\S]*?)(?>production|public)
But this results in multiple matches
Match 1
Full match 0-17 `california-public`
Group 1. 0-11 `california-`
Match 2
Full match 17-39 `-local-card-production`
Group 1. 17-29 `-local-card-`
So You have to match multiple times to retrieve the result.
I have to match an exact string at the end of a url, but not match all other urls that have more characters after that string
I can better explain with example.
I need to match the url having the string 'white' at its end: http//mysite.com/white
But I also need to not match urls having one or more characters postponed to it, like http//mysite.com/white__blue or http//mysite.com/white/yellow or http//mysite.com/white/
How to do that?

Based on your limited sample inputs, I'd say you could get away with this very minimal pattern:
^http[^\s]+white$
However, depending on what you are truly trying to achieve, what language/function you are implementing this pattern with, and what the full input string looks like, this pattern may need to be refined.
It would be best if you would improve your question to include all of the above relevant information.

Do a search for all filenames matching this:
(?<!controller|map|anythingelse)$
(Remove the |anythingelse if no other keywords, or append other keywords similarly.)
If you can't use negative lookbehinds (the (?<!..) bit), do a search for filenames that do not match this:
(?:controller|map)$
And if that still doesn't work (might not in some IDEs), remove the ?: part and it probably will - that just makes it a non-capturing group, but the difference here is fairly insignificant.
If you're using something where the full string must match, then you can just prefix either of the above with ^.* to do that.

Not quite sure what you're attempting with the public/class stuff there, so try this:
public.*class.*(?<!controller|map)$`
The . is a regex char that means "anything except newline", and the * means zero or more times.
If this isn't what you're after, edit the question with more details.
Depending on your regex implementation, you might be able to use a lookbehind for this task. This would look like
(?<!SomeText)$
This matches any lines NOT having "SomeText" at their end. If you cannot use that, the expression
^(?!.*SomeText$).*$
matches any non-empty lines not ending with "SomeText" as well.
You could write a regex that contains two groups, one consists of one or more characters before controller or map, the other contains controller or map and is optional.
^(.+)(controller|map)?$
With that you may match your string and if there is a group() method in the regex API you use, if group(2) is empty, the string does not contain controller or map.
Check if the name does not match [a-zA-Z]*controller or [a-zA-Z]*map.
finally I did it in this way
public.*class.*[^(controller|map|spec)]$
it worked
