CF9
Exchange server 2007 (hosted)
I am trying to add a calendar event for a user on our hosted exchange server. I'm getting the error ;
Unable to connect to the Exchange server using HTTP/HTTPS protocol.
HTTP response code : 400
The code is;
<cfexchangeCalendar action="Create"
username="EXCH016\ron_domain"
password="password"
mailboxname="ron"
server="https://owa016.msoutlookonline.net/owa"
Protocol="https"
formbasedauthentication=true
formbasedauthenticationURL="https://owa016.msoutlookonline.net/owa/auth/owaauth.dll"
Event="#sEvent#"
result="theUID">
#theUID#<br>
I know I can contact the server using the following;
<cfhttp URL='https://owa016.msoutlookonline.net/owa' result='res' >
<cfdump var="#res#">
<cfoutput>#res.filecontent#</cfoutput>
I get the form that requests email address and password.
I've been working on this problem for some time now. I can go to the owa page via browser and log in. At this point I'm at a loss on how to debug the problem.
I have had the same type of problem in the past, when one of my customers went from Privately Hosted and Run vs Hosted Solutions.
Although, I never used the formbasedauthentication method when authenticating, maybe this bypasses some of my issues.
The big thing we had issues with is that most Providers don't all WebDav access on their servers.
Since you are getting a 400, bad request, this is what I would look for first.
http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/htmldocs/help.html?content=cfexchange_3.html talks about what CF needs to connect to Exchange, maybe see if the support staff can confirm the setup.
Since you are using HTTPS, have you added the Cert into the JRE cert Store?
Sorry this probably isn't much help, but I hope it helps.

We changed our exchange mail server so I've update the mail server in CF9 admin settings. I've verified that it can connect to the new server and it can. But when I test sending an email it keeps failing because it is trying to connect to the old mail server. When I look in the mail.log it clearly lists the old server as the SMTP host it is trying to connect to and it fails.
Where else could CF9 be pulling the old mail server from?
Are there other places where my predecessor could have coded in the old mail server?
I've looked in various .cfm files for any reference to the old exchange server but have found none.
Thanks,
Dan
Ok so what I ended up doing was to actually hard code the new server into the one location we are actually using a cfmail tag. That fixed it. Not much of a chance this app will ever do anything other than this so should be fine.

I have a website and until some time ago it was administrated by a friend of mine; recently our relationships have been reduced, so I took the entire control of the website.
I'm not really expert with some aspects in the management of a web site. Actually I would make some back-end edits and I should connect with the server of the website.
I have the host IP, a username and a password. I tried to connect using Filezilla but I receive an error message: 530 Login incorrect.
So, I contacted the domain provider, I was convinced that the domain provider was the same of the hosting provider, but they told me that it was not true and that the hosting for the website is provided by "someone else" (it could be an other hosting provider or a private web-server, for example).
I don't know what to do.
How can I connect to the server of my website? What am I missing?
p.s.: sorry for my bad english
I think you might be pointing filezilla at port 80. Try pointing at the ftp port (21 probably.) If this doesn't work it could be that the hosting uses a non standard port.
If in doubt get some support from the hosting company. Only they know how they are set up. If the use something like cpanel you can access files through that. They may be reluctant to help if you can't prove the site is yours. Usually by using the email address you set up when you bought the hosting.
And no, the domain provider does not have to be the same as the hosting provider. My domains are hosted at godaddy and I have odd bits of hosting all over the place ;)
I have developed a Django application and now want to make sure the POST data transmitted through the page is safe.
I have couple of questions about this?
I see SSL certificates being displayed on many webpages. How do I get this certificate?
Do I need to change anything on my submitted form to encrypt the data or should I change any settings on my webserver?
I know its a general question but it would be great if someone provides a good answer.
First off, the POST data transmitted through the page is never safe from an application perspective. You don't have control over the user of the website. SSL and HTTPS helps prevent man in the middle attacks to ensure the request from the client (browser) to your server is encrypted. The underlying data that is sent can be malicious, so you should always validate inputs.
Secondly, if you want to use HTTPS and SSL, which I highly recommend, you'll need to obtain a certificate from one of the providers out there and install it with your webserver, which I presume is apache. Typically your domain provider can help you with obtaining an SSL certificate for your domain from one of the main certificate authorities. Regarding the installation and setup, there is tons of information about this online as it's a common task. I'm not familiar with Apache configuration to provide any specific recommendations. You'll also want to have rewrite rules so that your site can only be accessed via HTTPS and if someone tries to use HTTP, it simply redirects to HTTPS.
Lastly, you don't need to do anything in your Django application as your webserver should handle the basic interactions between your server and client to validate the HTTPS requests.
I work on a project which make ajax query to a webservice so I use fiddler to see JSON responses.
But I have encounter troubles using Fiddler. When I launch it on my laptop, Dropbox can't synchronize my files anymore but I can debug my ajax requests. The real problem is when I use Fiddler on my desktop computer, all my requests to my WebService are blocked. My WebService runs on localhost.
I don't understand how it works, can you help me?
Dropbox connections don't work because that application uses a feature called "Certificate Pinning" that reject's Fiddler's HTTPS interception certificate. Why this happens is discussed in the Fiddler book, but you can configure Fiddler not to decrypt dropbox.exe's connections which resolves the issue.
To avoid blocking DropBox App traffic while Fiddler is running, you can use Tools > Fiddler Options > HTTPS to either only decrypt Browser traffic or you can configure Fiddler not to decrypt traffic to *.dropbox.com.
The issue with your "WebService" is almost certainly completely unrelated. You need to be far more specific for anyone to help: What is the client? What is the service written in? What do you see in Fiddler when this happens?
I have a FinalBuilder project where I deploy an ASP.Net website to a remote folder, configured as a website in IIS.
As part of my build script, I want to use the FinalBuilder action HTTP Get File to help determine whether my deployment was succesful.
I'm having difficulty, because the website is configured (under IIS 6) to use Integrated Windows Authentication, and anonymous access is not enabled.
Now the HTTP Get File action, has only a handful of properties, one of which is a security section, containing a UserName and Password. Great I thought! I can just put some valid credentials in there, which FinalBuilder will impersonate, whilst retrieving my file.
It turns out I was mistaken. I receive the following error:
Error retrieving url : Socket Error # 10061
Connection refused.
If I run the action without setting the Security Username and Password, I get the following error:
Error retrieving url : HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized Response Code : 401
Here are some facts to help with the context of my problem.
I'm running FinalBuilder 6 Professional, upon a Windows Server 2003 installation, and deploying my ASP.Net website to a remote IIS6 server within our corporate LAN.
If I configure IIS on the remote server to allow Anonymous access, I can run the HTTP Get File action without error. However, running this particular site with anon access is not acceptable in our situation.
Can anyone help suggest a workaround?
For a definitive answer, I think the Finalbuilder Forum is probably your best bet.
My guess, though, is that the HTTP library used by FB doesn't support Windows authentication, and is failing because no common authentication method can be negotiated. Since HTTPS isn't supported either by the 'HTTP Get File action', the possible workaround of allowing basic authentication on your site isn't a good idea, as you would be passing credentials over the network in plain text.
The only remaining workaround I can think of (other than waiting for a future FB release), is creating your own FB action to retrieve the file. Using the .NET Framework System.Net.WebClient, that should be trivial. Just start with a standalone EXE to make sure everything works, then refactor it into a 'real' action using FinalBuilder Action Studio (if that's even required: spawning an external EXE may work just fine in your case).
