Customize like message on facebook activity log - facebook-graph-api

How to customize the facebook like message that appears on the users activity log after he likes using the like button. I've seen this customization for Wordpress.com
Whenever someone likes the wordpress.com website the log appears like this
here there's the additional text "on Wordpress.com". The like symbol on left is also customized to wordpress image.
How to achieve this customization on facebook using open graph tags ??

Just add this to your html head
<meta content='Your website name' property='og:site_name'>
To get 'Your website name' to the end.
The icon is added by a dedicated FB Application ( http://developers.facebook.com ). Just create an app for your website and add the icon to the 'App Details' of your app. Also add the Facebook SDK to your website!

Facebook API "Like" discrepancy

This is my app page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/When-Biebs-Attack/402350233140999
As you can see, it's an actual "App Page", created from my app control panel. So you would assume it would be linked with the app.
Now here is the (only) site that uses the App ID for a like button: http://cosmati.net/biebsattack/
Not only is the discrepancy weird, but as soon as I added the like button to the page it had 22 likes. I have double checked my App ID in my code. It does line up with my app control panel. I tried both the HTML5 and the XFBML methods.
okay, I don't know why it's doing what it's doing, but I figured out you can link them directly by adding an href tag to the like button and pointing it to the url of your facebook page. For instance, my like button now looks like this:
<fb:like href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/When-Biebs-Attack/402350233140999" send="false" width="450" show_faces="true" font="arial"></fb:like>
And now when I visit my site (http://cosmati.net/biebsattack/), not only do I only see 1 like (mine), but I see links to administer my page and view insights. Kind of neat. Not sure why it doesn't do this by default when I use the App ID, but whatever.

how to send a url with facebook like button?

I have page which has the url like the following.
http://example.com/?f=chatter
It has three links.
When I click on a link it details page is display. Which has the url like
http://example.com/?f=chatter&aid=6
But this url does not appear in the browser address bar. It displays in a textbox on its details page. The url in address bar remains the same http://example.com/?f=chatter
My page is of .tpl
Now I want to add the facebook like button to the details page which will share the link of that details page which is displaying in the textbox.
But when I click on the facebook like button, it share the link which is in the address bar of the browser.
{$url} this contains the details page url which is displaying in the textbox.
I have used the following code of the facebook like button.
<iframe src="//www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href={$url};send=false&layout=standard&width=450&show_faces=false&action=like&colorscheme=light&font&height=35" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height:35px;" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
Where in href I have place the {$url}.
I don't know if this will be useful to you but I'm using a jquery plugin that is unfortunatly not free ($5) called jQuery Social Share Buttons plugin
Although I'm having problems getting the facebook like button to include a popup which allows posting the url to my feed (keep getting 'Unknown RPC service: widget-interactive' error when trying to implement), I was able to get the twitter button to post the url.

What's the difference between the Like button with or without Open Graph META tags?

I have a very basic website with the potential for having hundreds of pages, and would like to have a the Facebook Like button on each one.
However, before I do it, I would like to know the difference between inserting the Like button with, or WITHOUT using Open Graph META tags.
I don't want each page that visitors 'Like' to become their own Facebook pages, but I WOULD like their 'Like' to show up on their wall so their friends can see it.
Is the only real reason for using Open Graph to specify what exactly it is that you want to show up in the message and 'Like' post?? (example: 'Dave likes The Rock - IMDB' with a picture of the movie and a description underneath.)
#Vali What you are suggesting:-
Including Open Graph tags on your Web page, makes your page equivalent to a Facebook Page. This means when a user clicks a Like button on your page, a connection is made between your page and the user. Your page will appear in the "Likes and Interests" section of the user's profile, and you have the ability to publish updates to the user.
is not possible. Kindly see my similar question:
Convert my Site to Facebook Graph Object
As you said you can add a Like button without OpenGraph. That's the easy way and with that you don't have any future connection with the person who liked your link/page.

Using Open Graph you have a greater control on what you want to appear on that person's wall.
Open Graph is still beta. If you want to use OpenGraph you need to create a FB app, get the APP ID and add it to your webpage. If you want to use the simple Like button, you just add the fb:like tag and that's all.

This will not happen. You're the single admin of your page.

Yes, you can do this with Open Graph. I suggest using Open Graph if you want to post enhanced wall posts and if you want to get connected with the users who likes your page.

How to install custom tabs for facebook pages?

I have created some custom tabs for facebook pages, like when the user clicks on the add custom tabs, im fetching the user pages but how can i make them to install the custom tab to the particular page on which he clicks.
li.innerHTML = "Name: <a href='http://facebook.com/"+page.id+"'>"+page.name+"</a>";
From the above code, i could get only the list of user pages, among them when the user clicks on a particular page (i.e.,page1), it should direct them to their page1 profile by adding the custom tab. How can i make them to install the custom tabs?
If you have the manage_pages permission from the user, you can add your app to their page via the API - see here:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/page/#tabs
There's no other way to automate it, and using static links are you're suggesting above is prone to break if the Facebook web interface ever changes.

Like Box plugin for my URL (not for Facebook Page URL)

I want to have a likebox plugin for my own URL (not a Facebook Page URL)
E.g.
http://www.example.com/product1.html
http://www.example.com/product2.html
I already have opengraph meta data, and user are able to like it, but I want to have likebox kind of plugin showing user faces...is it possible?
Facebook says the Facebook Like Box is only for Facebook pages. You could generate a like button with a show faces option for your website though.
