Writing first RESTFul Webservice and Client - web-services

Guys I almost spent a day on googling to find step by step tutorial for writing my first RESTFul service. No Luck
My environment is as follow
JDK 1.7
JBoss 713
Maven
Eclipse Indigo
Any pointer will be helpful. Thanks

Thank you. Though "RESTFul Java with JAX-RS" is quite old and lot of things evolved current past, gives good insight on the concepts. As Surya explained you need to go though multiple resources to get a good understanding on REST. What's the best source for learning how to create RESTful APIs in Java?

DropWizard provides end-end easy solution to write and deploy REST Services. Really impressive.

I built the front-end of my MVP. Now, what do I do next?

I am stuck on taking the next steps to delve into backend for my first SaaS project.
I have created the front-end and now require the backend and server-side aspects but, as a total beginner, I am lost as to where to go from here. I have looked into AWS, deployment and the related on a fundamental level but am not sure if I am still going in the right direction, and cannot understand half of what I am reading/watching.
Help would be amazing.
If you need to build a backend for web applications, there are some easy to learn web frameworks that I'd suggest.
Django - Python: https://www.djangoproject.com/
Node.js - Javascript: https://nodejs.org/en/
Ruby on Rails - Ruby: https://rubyonrails.org/
If you come from a frontend background, Node might be your best bet because you may already know JS. I prefer Django, but all three of these frameworks are very robust and can support a small MVP and scale all the way up to huge deployments. Good luck.

Where to start learning SOAP Web Services (in java)?

I have been searching a good tutorial and resource to brush up SOAP web services knowledge. Even though there are lots of resources I found none of them truly solid to grab the main knowledge. Especially in Java, there are multiple approaches to do the same thing. I want to know what are the main advantages on choosing one approach to another, and where to decided to choose one to another. I appreciate if someone can share their experience on learning web services, specifically SOAP. If you have REST knowledge or if you can share a good valid resource, that would be useful for future reads. Any key reads and/or well covered tutorial will be helpful. Thanks!
Yes, SOAP java knowledge is very scattered and that's one of the reasons why Java EE 6 Web Services Developer Certified Expert is so hard.
You can start with the Oracle official webservices tutorial.
There are also good online resources.
You would also have to read some old books and the SOAP specs.
Also some good youtube videos.
Try blogs.

How to create API in WSO2 using Eclipse Java EE

I am really new in services and mainly in WSO2 and i am having some little problems to finish the tutorial of the link: 'https://docs.wso2.com/display/EI611/Sending+a+Simple+Message+to+a+Service'.
I need of this tutorial to learn about the use of the tool and because of my boss asked me for.
My problem is, i was able to create the server, i had to create locally, but stopped in the part: 'Sending requests to WSO2 EI', in the item 3, my API simply don't appears. I already tried to restart the server and review the tutorial, but every-time i brake in this part.
I really need help and really want learn. If anyone could help me, i would stay very grateful. Thank you everyone
PS: Remembering that i haven't use any code to come where i come, just tried for the way that the tutorial taught.
I was able to solve my problem. The reason I had this problem was because I wasn't packaging the artifacts correctly. Once I learned how to package the artifacts, the API showed just right.

Want to learn Restful api, don't know where to start

I'm android developer I'm making app with simple login and sending and receiving messages and pictures. Searching on internet making me really confuse. I don't know where to start and what to use. There are many ways to make and many libraries like node.js php phalcon, asp.net mvc, ruby sinatra etc. I just want to where should i start and what should i use.
Because you mentioned Android, Java has many options for creating RESTful backends. Dropwizard is fairly straight-forward and comes with its own built-in server, which means you won't have to worry about setting that up yourself. Play is another good option. There's a bit of a learning curve with it, but once you figure it out, it has a lot of tools out of the box that help you make REST APIs.
Here's the documentation for Play:
https://playframework.com/documentation/2.5.x/JavaHome
P.S. - This question is likely to get flagged as not being the right fit for SO. You'll probably still get replies, but asking for opinions is something that people will try to discourage you from doing.

Where can I find some good WS-Security introductions and tutorials?

Can anyone point me to some decent introductions to WS-Security?
I'm looking for tutorials or something that provide a fairly gentle introduction to the subject, though I don't mind if it assumes basic knowledge of web services and SOAP. Most of the stuff I've seen so far is very technical and you need a lot of complex, detailed background knowledge to understand it properly.
We have to implement a web service in PHP and one or more clients in .NET, so resources covering both would be much appreciated.
I think the best introduction to the (any) subject are some good examples.
This article at codeProject gives a fairly easy to follow guide trough web service security for a .NET application.
I had to give myself a crash course in WS-Security a few months back, here are a few links that I found helpful:
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/webservices/library/ws-security.html
http://www.devx.com/security/Article/15634
http://www.devx.com/Java/Article/28816
Check Kirk Evans' blog as it deals with the .NET Framework 2.0+ instead of the old .NET Framework 1.0 linked by Sven.
The implementation on Evans' blog is backwards compatible with clients running .NET Frameowrk 1.0.
You can find some good article on WS-Security and Apache Rampart - the open source WS-Security implementation - in WSO2 Online Library.
WSO2 WSF/PHP is a PHP Web services extension that has support for WS-Security and also interops with .NET Web services/clients seamlessly.
