Perviously this line chart had a string as it's first column and I'm attempting to convert it to use a DateTime so the X axis continuous rather than discrete, however the chart no longer renders and I get an error message of Cannot call method 'Yc' of null.
Any ideas why?

should actually be
cols: [{label: 'Date', type: 'date'},

I want to display values with predefined units. e.g.: 22.00B/s
The data structure looks like this:
['6.84KB/s', '4.49KB/s', '3.42KB/s']
But only such data are displayed:
['7.5', '4.3', '10.3']
How can I display such values?
3.42KB/s
(Without removing letters or special characters)
You will need to use a category scale for this:
const options = {
type: 'bar',
data: {
labels: ["val1", "val2", "val3"],
datasets: [{
label: '# of Votes',
data: ['6.84KB/s', '4.49KB/s', '3.42KB/s'],
backgroundColor: 'pink'
}]
},
options: {
scales: {
y: {
type: 'category',
labels: ['6.84KB/s', '4.49KB/s', '3.42KB/s'],
reverse: true
}
}
}
}
const ctx = document.getElementById('chartJSContainer').getContext('2d');
new Chart(ctx, options);
<body>
<canvas id="chartJSContainer" width="600" height="400"></canvas>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/Chart.js/3.8.2/chart.js"></script>

I'm trying to adapt https://www.chartjs.org/docs/latest/samples/bar/floating.html to create a kind of timeline chart, where the horizontal axis (the range data) are timestamps. Unfortunately I can't seem to get the data to display, and don't see any error messages, etc.

not using proper axis format for chart.js 3
need to scale the graph myself
need to refer to horizontal axis as x

I'm trying to use Google Charts and seem to be running into issues with titles not displaying. Im using a Column Chart and the vAxis title is not displaying. I also started to make a Material Line Chart and I'm running into the same issue.
Here's the Material Line Chart code:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://www.gstatic.com/charts/loader.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
google.charts.load('current', {packages: ['corechart','line']});

<body>
<div id="container" style="width: 550px; height: 400px; margin: 0 auto"></div>
<script language="JavaScript">
function drawChart() {
// Define the chart to be drawn.
var data = new google.visualization.DataTable();
data.addColumn('string', 'Cycle ID');
data.addColumn('number', '5A Continuous');
data.addColumn('number', '10A Continuous');
data.addColumn('number', '20A Continuous');
data.addColumn('number', '10A Pulse');
data.addColumn('number', '20A Pulse');
data.addRows([
['1', 2548, 2319, 828, 2348, 2192],
['2', 2537, 2306, 829, 2362, 2187],
['3', 2533, 2301, 833, 2347, 2170],

var formatter = new google.visualization.NumberFormat({
pattern: '####'
});
formatter.format(data, 1);
formatter.format(data, 2);
formatter.format(data, 3);
formatter.format(data, 4);
formatter.format(data, 5);
// Set chart options

var chart = new google.charts.Line(document.getElementById('container'));
chart.draw(data, options);

Here's the Column Chart Code:
<html>
<head>

<script type="text/javascript">

vAxis: { gridlines: { count: 8 }, minValue: 500}
};
var chart = new google.visualization.ColumnChart(document.getElementById('chart_div'));
chart.draw(data, options);
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="chart_div"></div>

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Material charts are in beta and you must use a converter function on your options to ensure they work properly. Here is an example:
chart.draw(data, google.charts.Line.convertOptions(options));
For your column chart, you must explicitly set the vaxis.title option like so:
vAxis: { title: 'Average mAh', gridlines: { count: 8 }, minValue: 500}
I'm creating a chart in Google Script and couldn't set the vAxis title either, and similarly couldn't modify some other attributes.
I found success by modifying vAxes[0] instead.
chart.setOption('vAxes', {0: {title: 'title Text'} } )
or if you're using an options variable:
vAxes: { 0: { title: 'Milliamp Hours' } }
Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.
I have a Google Geochart that is connected to a Google Spreadsheet. The aim of the chart is to show different categories of universities in our state and their locations. I have assigned values in the spreadsheet in order to have the appropriate marker color for the map to denote the categories.
My problem is that the text denoting the type (a number) is showing in the tooltip. (Example: tooltip shows "ABC University Type 3." I need to either hide this text, or create a string based on conditional logic so that, for example, Type 3 translates to "XYZ System" in the tooltip. Which do you think is the better way to do it, and can you provide guidance as to how to do this?

You can use the DataView Class to change the formatted value of the Type column.
For instance, the value of the Type column in the DataTable looks like this...
{"v":3.0,"f":"3"}
With the DataView, change it to this...
{"v":3.0,"f":"XYZ System"}
We can also remove the column Label, to avoid seeing it in the tooltip.
See following example...
google.charts.load('current', {
callback: drawMap,
packages: ['geochart']
});
function drawMap() {
var query = new google.visualization.Query("https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m3ujxzPQJh3haReNDzGGF73Mh6-u6HxyCVPK_5MK2hw/gviz/tq?sheet=Sheet3");
query.send(handleQueryResponse);
}
function handleQueryResponse(response) {
var data = response.getDataTable();
// setup school type array
var schoolTypes = [
'ABC System',
'LMO System',
'XYZ System'
];
// create DataView from DataTable
var view = new google.visualization.DataView(data);
// set view columns, keep first three columns
// use calculated column for Type
view.setColumns([0, 1, 2, {
type: 'number',
label: '',
calc: function (dataTable, rowIndex) {
return {
v: dataTable.getValue(rowIndex, 3),
// get school type from array
f: schoolTypes[dataTable.getValue(rowIndex, 3) - 1]
}
}
}]);
var options = {
//showTip: true,
mapType: 'styledMap',
useMapTypeControl: true,
resolution: 'provinces',
//displayMode: 'text',
//magnifyingGlass: {'enable': true, 'zoomFactor': '7'},
region: 'US-KY',
keepAspectRatio: true,
legend: 'none',
sizeAxis: { minValue: 1, maxValue: 3, minSize: 10, maxSize: 10 },
colorAxis: {colors: ['green', 'blue', 'purple'], values: [1, 2, 3]},
markerOpacity: 0.75,
tooltip: {showColorCode: false, isHTML: true, textStyle:{fontSize: 21}},
dataMode: 'markers'
};
var map = new google.visualization.GeoChart(document.getElementById('chart_div'));
map.draw(view, options);
