Where can requests for Glass Development Kit be submitted? - google-glass

The presentation today indicated that there was support on Stackoverflow but I was wondering if there's a central location where all requests are being tracked for us to follow and vote on?

If you have a very specific request for the Glass Development Kit, the best place to file it is in the Glass API issue tracker. There's a Component-GDK tag being used for these requests.
In general, though, not much has been said about the GDK yet, so it may be a bit early to make specific issue requests until more context is available.
For now, if you're a member of the Explorer Program, the Glass Pioneers section of the Glass Community is a great place to discuss your thoughts on the GDK.

There's a "request new API Features" link on the Glass API issue tracker page, but it's not clear if that is the best place for GDK feature requests since a lot of the branding on the page lists it as the Google Mirror API issue tracker. There seem to be a few GDK-ish feature requests in that issue tracker though, so in the absence of any official information I'd probably submit them there.

Google Home API for going to a URL and login

I am a very new developer who can write basic HTML (yes I know it's English), and is looking for a solution to a problem that I basically invented.
I recently bought a product called Doorbird, a very cool and well engineered IP Doorbell. The reason I bought it, is because it has an App, and integrates with IP phones and support video, and has a few bells and whistles, if you're not familiar with this product, I highly recommend looking at it.
The "problem" is that it does not integrate with Google Home, or Amazon Echo. However, it does have an API that allows you to go to the URL, login and unlock the door. I was looking into creating my own action that would have the Google Home login to the Doorbell and go to the unlock URL.
My issue is, I have no experience with this, but I pick things up very quickly, and believe in myself!
I already looked at the api.ai site from Google, and have signed up. It looked simple, but upon further investigation looks very complicated.
If anyone would be able to point me in the right direction I would be greatly appreciative.
Thanks in advance,
-Jack G
You need them to publish their REST api so that you can call the 'action' to unlock directly vs. having to go to a login page. You would probably set up oauth to have your server talk to theirs or use web headers. Ask their tech support if they support direct REST api using a security model.

Is there MSHTML Editing equivalent in MS Edge?

I want to use MS Edge as an html editor. Is that possible?
Can I use c++ to access undo stack?
If so, please point me to any kind of documentation.
Thanks
I don't have any sources for this, but I'm pretty certain that Microsoft didn't carry this functionality over into Edge - especially considering that you can't embed Edge in a C++ or .NET desktop application the same way you can with IE.
I don't see any reason you couldn't just keep using MSHTML, though.
When referring to the MS Web Browser Control documentation there is, at the top of the page:
We're no longer updating this content regularly. Check the Microsoft Product Lifecycle for information about how this product, service, technology, or API is supported.
And next to it, a button: "Recommended Version."
Click the button, and it's the MS Edge dev portal. From there, we see, amongst others. a link to Mozilla Developer Network Web Docs, and another to MS's own Progressive Web Apps on Windows. Not so MSHTML edity anymore, but if you want it implemented, then perhaps uservoice?

Forum module for Sitecore 7.*

I'm building a website which requires forum integration to a Sitecore build - I've checked on the Sitecore website and they suggest YetAnotherForum and Telligent Community Integration Module. Both of these modules tho only support up till 6.4.1 and 6.4 respectively - I'm using Sitecore 7.0.
Logged a ticket with Sitecore and they came back with the following:
We have no information about Forum modules that are compatible with Sitecore 7.1. I would recommend you to contact your regional office and check whether they could advise you something.
Any suggestions?
First of all Telligent supports Sitecore 7.

I have been working with Sitecore and Telligent Community integration from quite time and from my experience i have this opinion.
For deep integration it is quite a lot of work and requires much knowledge of both the product and costs will be high for licensing & deployment. But i can assure you that Telligent will work in Sitecore newer version also. However with higher costs you will get more rich functionality, Facebook like Activity Stream, and Apart from Forums it also has Blogs, Wikis, Media Gallery.
Telligent supports two kind of integrations:
1. Side by Side Integration - In this Sitecore and Telligent both will be user facing.
2. Integration mode - In this user will be mostly in Sitecore.
Reference link
If you are Sitecore Partner you will get trial license of Telligent. For details check 'Social Starter Kit' on Sitecore SDN site. Also there is video on YouTube regarding Sitecore & Telligent Integration in Sitecore Virtual User Group community.
I have no experience on YAF module so can't suggest on that.
Did you try to install YAF integration module, https://marketplace.sitecore.net/en/Modules/YAF_integration.aspx, i think it would run on Sitecore 7, since this module mainly integrate YAF with Sitecore security, i don't see why it should not run on Sitecore 7.
The Telligent product was renamed, I suggest you take a look at http://www.zimbra.com/products/zimbra-community/sitecore-starter.html and contact them. I'm unaware of what version they're targeted at right now.

Hybrid app in Google Glass

Is it possible to build a single app that can work as native(GDK) and also insert cards into my timeline with Mirror API. Or i have to build separate apps for GDK and Mirror API.
I am aware that we can invoke a GDK app from a card inserted through Mirror API. But these are
in essence two different apps interacting.
So is it possible that i can do the whole authorization through GDK app?
It is certainly feasible to have a GDK-based app on Glass call the Mirror API to insert a card. Calling the timeline.insert endpoint is not a big deal. You will have bigger issues if you're trying to handle callbacks since you'll need a stable IP address, but if all you want to do is insert cards with a URI to use as an intent trigger, that part is not an issue.
The issue you face, as you noted, is to do the authorization through Glass. This part is still immature in the GDK, and although there are some workarounds, there is nothing that Google provides yet that can help with this. Auth support is quite frequently requested, so expect something to address this as the GDK matures.

Publishing Applications/Glasswares which are developed with GDK

How can we publish/distribute applications which are developed for Glass with GDK?
At submission form I don't see any APK file upload option. But I see a yes/no question(Does this Glassware use invocation voice commands?) which is a meaningful question for apps that are developed with GDK.
Am I missing something?
I just think that submission form is only for mirror api glasswares. Is that correct?
Google has not yet announced how you can distribute GDK Glassware on MyGlass. For now, hang tight.
The submission form you link is indeed only for Mirror API Glassware. More details about distributing GDK Glassware will be announced some time after the GDK graduates from its sneak peek release level into something more stable.
There are however multiple glass app sites. Here are 2 that I know of:
