I have two radio buttons and on the selection of one radio button i want to show the textbox. if the user selects the radio button with the value of "other" then display the textbox, if its anything else dont display the textbox.
apply_type= (
('Online',_('Online')),
('Others',_('Others')),
)
how_to_apply = models.CharField(verbose_name=_('How to Apply'),max_length=255,null=True, choices=apply_type,default='Online')
How can this be done in django?
One way is to just use javascript client-side to show an input when a certain radio button is checked.
If you want to do it in django, you could use a form wizard and have the selections that are made on the first form affect the rest of the forms that are displayed.

I want to add checkboxes for each row like action checkboxes to post selected rows to a view with my custom buttons. If I do it like this with adding a pointless action, it behaves like I am doing an action and it redirects to the same page with an error "no action selected".
Before I press the button and post changelist-form
After I press the button
I want to select specific rows especially all rows without adding an action to my ModelAdmin or without changing my Model.
How can I achieve that?
Where in sitecore do I configure what fields are displayed when I click this button? (Currently, it lists 3 of the 7 fields that are on the template, I'd like to add another to be editable).
Screenshot
It is one of Edit Frame buttons. When you open your control markup, you see something like this:
<sc:EditFrame ID="editFrame" runat="server" Buttons="/sitecore/content/Applications/WebEdit/Edit Frame Buttons/Default">
...
</sc:EditFrame>
It differs for MVC, but is similar. You need to get Buttons attribute value.
When you open /sitecore/content/Applications/WebEdit/Edit Frame Buttons/Default path in core database you see list of children. It is your buttons. For your case it should be only one button: Edit Item. This item has Fields field where using pipe as delimiter is list of fields that are available for editing.
Need your suggestions on handling the validation without submitting page in APEX 5.0. I have following items on my apex report page.
"Select list" item which contains some static values
date pickers ( start date and end date)
Submit button ( Once submit is clicked the report date is displayed )
Here I need to add a dynamic action or validation to the submit button so that if user clicks the submit button without selecting a value from the "Select List", an error message should be displayed to the user that he needs to select the item first from the "Select list" page item. With out any selection from the list , the processing should stop and a warning message should be displayed ( either it could be popup message or message can be marked on the select list page item ) .Point to be noted here that during the submit I do not want to refresh the page, just would like a quick error message to display.
Appreciate your help.
in a similar case i used dynamic actions
dynamic actions works on client side
in my case i am not enabling submit button until user changes the select list value
in my dynamic action my config is as below
Event=change
selection=items
item=selectlistID
and true action is
action=disable
button=submitbuttonname
in your case you can choose javascript as action and add your javascript code
I have a form which users fill and all the results are displayed on another page as a table. How can I make the results editable in that page (table)? If you want to edit some row you can press something like an edit button which will make the row change the values from text to their respective widgets as in the form, so you can edit it yourself.
Try django-jeditable which uses jEditable jQuery plugin.
I'm tying to hide a button when a checkbox is deselected and show the button when selected. But I don't know why isn't it working because I have two date item and they are working fine.
When checkbox not selected
When checkbox selected

Tanks
Your dynamic action tries to hide the button using the DOM Selector "APPLY_CHANGES", but this isn't actually the button's ID (it didn't have an ID at all).
Two changes required (I have made them):
1) Change the Button template to allow button attributes to be added:
<button value="#LABEL#" onclick="#LINK#" class="button-gray" type="button"
#BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES#>
<span>#LABEL#</span>
</button>
2) Change the button itself and set the Button Attributes property to:
id="APPLY_CHANGES"
