While i am using "wget" command to download files from amazon S3 to amazon EC2 instance,
it gives following message and file not get downloaded.
How to solve this issue..?

You should launch your EC2 instance with the permission to read from your S3 buckets.
The easiest way to do it is using Roles. You simply create in IAM (Identity and access management) service of AWS a role that can read from S3. Then you launch your instance with this role. AWS will take care of getting the right credentials onto the instance and you can get your S3 objects, using S3 CLI tools.
You can use the same "trick" to access other resources and other actions on these resources.

Unless the file is public, you will need to authenticate with keys to download the file. This is probably easiest done with a tool like s3cmd.
This worked after I gave read Permission to everyone for the file
Go to Permission Tab - >Public Access->Click Everyone-> then give the Read Permission

I was working on a E-commerce project ( for study ) and wanted to sync my webfiles from S3 to EC2.
I used this command in the Linux SSH session:
#6. download the FleetCart zip from s3 to the html directory on the ec2 instance
sudo aws s3 sync s3://deg-s3bucketwebfiles /var/www/html
Entering the command, I get the following error message:
-- > fatal error: Unable to locate credentials
Not sure, what is wrong ? I checked that there's a directory /var/www/html but somehow the files cannot be sync across to EC2.
Appreciate any guide.

Unable to locate credentials means that the aws command is unable to locate any credentials on the EC2 instance. The credentials are used to identify you to AWS so it knows that you are entitled to access the deg-s3bucketwebfiles bucket.
Option 1: Use an IAM Role
Since you are using an Amazon EC2 instance, the correct way to provide credentials to the instance is to associate an IAM Role to the instance. The role would need permission to access S3.
Option 2: Use credentials from an IAM User
Alternatively, you can use credentials associated with your IAM User. Go to the IAM Console, select your IAM User and go to the Security Credentials tab. You will find a Create access key button.
It will provide an Access Key and a Secret Key. The Access Key starts with AKIA, while the Secret Key is a long jumble of characters.
Once you have these credentials, run this command on the EC2 instance:
aws configure
Provide the credentials when prompted.
I am trying to register a respository on AWS S3 to store ElasticSearch snapshots.
I am following guide and ran the very first command listed in the doc.
But I am getting the error Access Denied while executing that command.
The role that is being used to perform operations on S3 is the AmazonEKSNodeRole.
I have assigned the appropriate permissions to the role to perform operations on the S3 bucket.
Also, here is another doc which suggests to use kibana for ElasticSearch version > 7.2 but I am doing the same via cURL requests.
Below is trust Policy of the role through which I am making the request to register repository in the S3 bucket.

I tried to run aws lambda publish-layer-version command line in my local console using my personal aws credentials, but I've got an Amazon S3 Access Denied error for the bucket in which the zip layer is stored.
aws lambda publish-layer-version --layer-name layer_name --content S3Bucket=bucket_name,S3Key=layers/libs.zip
An error occurred (AccessDeniedException) when calling the PublishLayerVersion operation: Your access has been denied by S3, please make sure your request credentials have permission to GetObject for {URI of layer in my S3 bucket}. S3 Error Code: AccessDenied. S3 Error Message: Access Denied
When I'm running the aws cp command in the same bucket, it all works perfectly fine
aws s3 cp s3://bucket_name/layers/libs.zip libs.zip
So I assume that the aws lambda command line is using an other role than the one used when I'm running the aws cp command line ? Or maybe it uses another mecanism that I just don't know. But I couldn't find any thing about it in the AWS documentation.
I've just read that AWS can return a 403 it couldn't find the file. So maybe it could be an issue with the command syntax ?

For your call to publish-layer-version you may need to specify the --content parameter with 3 parts:
S3Bucket=string,S3Key=string,S3ObjectVersion=string
It looks like you are missing S3ObjectVersion. I don't know what the AWS behavior is for evaluating and applying the parts of that parameter, but it could be attempting to do something more since the version is not specified and hence giving you that error. Or it could be returning an error code that is not quite right and is misleading. Try adding S3ObjectVersion and let me know what you get.
Otherwise, AWS permission evaluation can be complex. I like this AWS diagram below, so it is a good one to follow to track down permissions issues, but I suspect that AccessDenied is a bit of a red herring in this case:
Your Lambda does not have privileges (S3:GetObject).
Try running aws sts get-caller-identity. This will give you the IAM role your command line is using.
Go to IAM dashboard, check this role associated with your Lambda execution. If you use AWS wizard, it automatically creates a role called oneClick_lambda_s3_exec_role. Click on Show Policy. It will look something like attached image.Make sure S3:GetObject is listed.
Also, AWS returns 403 (access denied) when the file does not exist. Be sure the target file is in the S3 bucket.
I'm trying to get at the Common Crawl news S3 bucket, but I keep getting a "fatal error: Unable to locate credentials" message. Any suggestions for how to get around this? As far as I was aware Common Crawl doesn't even require credentials?

You can access the data even without a AWS account by adding the command-line option --no-sign-request.
I tested this by launching a new Amazon EC2 instance (without an IAM role) and issuing the command:
aws s3 ls s3://commoncrawl/crawl-data/CC-NEWS/
It gave me the error: Unable to locate credentials
I then ran it with the additional parameter:
aws s3 ls s3://commoncrawl/crawl-data/CC-NEWS/ --no-sign-request
It successfully listed the directories.
I'm running Spark 2.4 on an EC2 instance. I am assuming an IAM role and setting the key/secret key/token in the sparkSession.sparkContext.hadoopConfiguration, along with the credentials provider as "org.apache.hadoop.fs.s3a.TemporaryAWSCredentialsProvider".
When I try to read a dataset from s3 (using s3a, which is also set in the hadoop config), I get an error that says
com.amazonaws.services.s3.model.AmazonS3Exception: Status Code: 403, AWS Service: Amazon S3, AWS Request ID: 7376FE009AD36330, AWS Error Code: null, AWS Error Message: Forbidden

I've repeatedly checked the S3 path and it's correct. My assumed IAM role has the right privileges on the S3 bucket. The only thing I can figure at this point is that spark has some sort of hidden credential chain ordering and even though I have set the credentials in the hadoop config, it is still grabbing credentials from somewhere else (my instance profile???). But I have no way to diagnose that.
Any help is appreciated. Happy to provide any more details.
spark-submit will pick up your env vars and set them as the fs.s3a access +secret + session key, overwriting any you've already set.
If you only want to use the IAM credentials, just set fs.s3a.aws.credentials.provider to com.amazonaws.auth.InstanceProfileCredentialsProvider; it'll be the only one used
