I have a strange issue with JOMSOCIAL and Joomla core SEF.
Once I enabled Search Engine Friendly URLs that creates a trouble with Jomsocial Profile
It only loads only jomsocial profile page even if I click photos, videos, groups in the jomsocial menu bar.
This issue would be solved if I disable Search Engine Friendly URLs. But I'd like to use Search Engine Friendly URLs.
Here is the URL of the site :
http://poolavadi.com/home/ta/account/myaccount.html
Login info :
User name : test
pass : test#123
please use the url to goto the issue page after logging in since the whole site will be in my language. I've put jomsocial only in English.
The issue above can be fixed by going to the sef404 configuration screen and unchecking optimization. Depending on your own setup you can uncheck other options as well. Also be sure to check your 404 manager within sef404 and make sure there are no duplicate links. If so make sure the id matches the menu id . Assuming you understand what matching your menu id to correct option in 404 manager.

I'm using djangocms_blog. Everything is working good, but I have no idea how to include facebook for articles. Plugin give me possible for that, but I never do that and I don't know where I find relevant information about it.
How it look on my djangocms admin:
I created app on facebook dev:
And I used facebook app ID in my blog input on settings.
Like can you see, there is more information about FB. Where can I find them? And What else I should do?
All the informations are actualy optional, and you can provide any combination of them.
In case you created the application, App id is the right one, probably you will also want Facebook author URL (the user profile) or Facebook page URL to link the post to the facebook profiles.
Don't forget to enable generic django meta support (at least META_USE_OG_PROPERTIES: https://django-meta.readthedocs.io/en/latest/settings.html#meta-use-og-properties)
When I access my site that's being managed by Sitecore, it's redirecting me and asking for Sitecore credentials. I have no idea why but obviously the main site should be viewable to public without needing creds.
Thanks.
This could be from your sitecore cookie still in page editor mode, To fix this add this query string to your URL:
?sc_mode=normal
This will update your cookie and no reddirect to login anymore
Assuming that you have a combined CM/CD environment and that this is specific to your computer or other authors' computers, it is likely that Sitecore is picking up on the fact that you were using the Page Editor in a previous session. When you are using Page Editor Sitecore will drop a cookie called website#sc_mode and set it to "edit". If you return to the page with that cookie set it will push you to the Login Page as it things you are attempting to edit that page.
To resolve this try clearing your cookies or using a browser in Incognito mode/Private Browsing.
If this is happening to other users I would suggest following Martijn's advice in the other Answer and checking your site definition.
Check your site definitions in the web.config and/or the sites.config in the /app_config/include/ folder. Most of the times there is some misconfiguration there.
Check the security roles set on your site pages. If for some reason access has been denied to the 'extranet/anonymous' user you won't be able to browse without being authenticated.
I have a Joomla 2.5 site and I'm creating a mobile version of it. I want to use the same menus and same articles but adjust the content. For this I'm using a simple mobile detection plugin so it changes the stylesheet only. This all works fine.
However, I need an additional page that just contains the main menu. In Joomla you have a default page and this is currently my home page for both my desktop and mobile version. I want the mobile site to load my main menu page first then the user can navigate from there. Does anyone know of the best way to do this?
A site can only have one default page so you will need to redirect a user to the mobile menu page when they first visit the site. There's a couple of ways to do this would be to set a cookie indicating they have been to the main navigation or use session variables. In either case, you would need to add a plugin or code to the default page to determine if they need to be redirected or not.
That said, why not just make your template responsive. It's fairly easy to implement the Bootstrap framework (there are tons of templates already out there using Bootstrap) and then it is trivial to show or hide content based on the size of the screen the user has.
i am very beginner in web development and making my first project website. please help me i want to make a website in joomla 2.5. i want to use a login page to enter into the website because for the moment i want keep everything behind the door. only users with password will enter into the site. i tried to search on the below link but could not succeed.
http://docs.joomla.org/Screen.menus.edit.15#Internal_Link_-_User
please anyone help me.
alot of thanks in Advance)))
you can get this working by setting up access level of all your menu items as registered. Except the one you want to use for login page.
I would not recommend setting up access levels on your menu at this stage of building your site.
If all you're trying to achieve is that everyone has to have a username and password to get to the site, I would use folder security through your hosting control panel(CPANEL or PLESK probably).
Setting up Folder security here will mean users have to login to get to the site but the site can be built as if it were public.
Setting menu security in Joomla can lead to confusing beginner experience when items don't show and you can't figure out why.
I am in the process of adding Like buttons to all of the product pages on a website. I am using all of the proper open graph tags and an app_id and everything seems to be working fine. I will be using a version of the button that does not give you the Admin or Insights links to choose from. I am wondering if there is an easy way to access those pages without the links?
Even though I am listed as an admin of the App, I am not automatically listed as an admin of each of the product pages as they are created. The only way I have been able to do it is to:
Add the default Like button code to another area of the page.
Click on the admin link then add myself as a page admin.
Delete the extra button on the page.
Access the admin area by going to facebook/pages.
This will be a pain as I add in hundreds of products! Any advice would be appreciated.
I'm facing the same issue. Sadly your way of being admin of a page via an extra button didn't work for me.
