Restrict product purchase based on location (option value) - opencart

I have a little complicated requirement.
I need to sell few products only in particular city. So, I created a 'select' option for that product and added my city name and set other option as 'outside city'. Now, customer should not be able to purchase the product or add it to the cart if he selects 'outside city' as option.
I tried searching for solution but couldn't find one. Is there an easy way of doing this?
Thanks.

I can give you a hint. When adding options in the select menu just add "city name" only and then you need to edit the appropriate template and change the words --please select-- to 'outside city'. Once you do this the script will NOT allow the user to proceed unless he chooses the city name.

OpenCart - Create unique product option from within product edit page

Would it be possible (with some modification or maybe an existing plugin) to create unique product options from within the product edit page? Those options then only assigned to that product?
In total across all my products, I'll have around 500 'options'. Each product of mine has about 5 options, rather than having to go to the OPTIONS section which will then list all 500, I'd rather input them directly from within the product edit page.
As it stands I cannot, I have to create the 'option value' elsewhere, then go back in to the product edit page area and then assign the option.
As you'll see in my attachment, you can only select already created product 'options value' from the product edit page, not create them here.

In open cart 2.0.2.0 how to change the value passed to the cart?

I made some changes in this file catalog>view>theme>default>template>product.
I created a custom textbox where the price of the product changes according to the selection made in the select option.
http://webanddesigning.com.np/ocart/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=72&search=bara
but I cannot pass the selected price to the shopping cart. Any idea ?
Opencart does not pass price info to the cart. Price is calculated in the library cart class according to options, discounts, specials and other product data in your database. In your case it sounds like you need to either do this using native options or write a custom option method.

osCommerce: custom price based on user input

I am writing a simple JavaScript which will update my price automatically (I know there are addons but they dont work with the nature of my products) when the user enters amount, size etc etc. I want to know how do I override the product price before/after it is sent to the shopping cart?
Example: The product price is 10€. The user select some variatons and then the price is 22,40€. I want to send that price to the checkout instead of the 10€.
So far I have written my JavaScript which updates the price based on user input and selections. I just need to know how to pass that new price variable and more important WHERE.
Any tips or help would be appreciated.
You mention "variations". Are you using attributes? If so, you can simply attach a price adjustment to each option value. That would be the quickest and most proper way to handle variation-specific pricing.

In fact, it is unnecessary to add the price filter. It is possible to generate the price range filter automatically for products listing when the customer access any category in your store.
I use an advanced products filters module(include price range filter) for my store > http://www.myluvme.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=88_95.
It really help my customers focus in on what they are looking for which will create more sales.
The mod worked out of the box with the default theme and only needed some minor tweaks to work with my custom theme which the developer did for me immediately. i like that it builds upon the framework of oc.
It should be useful to boost your online sales too. I recommend you to try it. You could find it at:

Unlike many other shopping carts there is no a built-in filter in OpenCart that could be considered a normal usable e-commerce store filter unfortunately. The OpenCart filters thing is a super clumsy functionality and it's not very clear for users how to administer it. In our company we use an extension called Brainy Filter http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=19184 They have it for both OpenCart versions but of course you should go with 2.x rather then the old 1.5.x one. All other filters we tried appeared to be either just junk or had very messy interfaces.

Best practice for many-to-many relationship between content tree items?

In my content tree, I have a tree of content items which represent cities. For each of those I want to have logical connections to a set of... let's say... National Parks that are within 2 hours driving distance. So a city will have multiple parks... and each set will be different... but of course a park will also be associated with more than one city.
What kind of Item and field setup works well for this sort of situation? I will be creating a custom renderer for these items, so I'm mostly concerned with how this should look in Sitecore to maximize ease of use and performance.
I'm using Sitecore 6.2.
(cross-posting from SDN, please forgive me... but I want to encourage more Sitecore community here on StackOverflow)
For this kind of relationship you'll need the following structure:
Home
Cities
NY
London
Paris
Parks
Park1
Park2
Park3
The "City" template should have the Multilist type field called "Parks". The soulrce of this field should look to the root of Parks (Home > Parks). The same way the "Park" template has the Multilist field called "Cities". The source of this field should look to the root of Cities (Home > Cities).
In this way you'll be easily able to perform any kind of request.
Hope this helps.
If the connection has to be both ways one way you could handle it is by adding some code to the save event.
Let's assume we have a City template with a field called "Related Parks", and a Park template with a "Related Cities" field.
Say we save a City item with two parks in the "Related Parks" field. On the save event we could retrieve the two parks and insert the current city being saved into the "Related Cities" field on those parks.
I am not necessarily saying this is the best way to go about it, just another option.
Are you going to be doing any lookups from park to city? For instance, would you need to say "find all the cities that are associated with a given park"? Or will it just be "find all the parks that are associated with a given city"? If you need to do the lookups in both directions, things get a little trickier and I would probably recommend using a search index. However, if your lookup is only in one direction, you could just use a treelist field to make associations from one item to many others.
From your description I'm not entirely sure if you actually need to use that many-to-many relationship, or if a one-to-many path is all you need?
