I use pod to generate reports from django. A very smart solution, I enjoy it.
But pod solution required an Open Office (or LibreOffice) installation on client desktop (or server side).
To avoid Open Office software I will hope to send report to google drive as a new (or existing) doc from a django app (or python ...).
Someone would to share expertise with this kind of issue? Else, What would be the steps to publish a google doc from django app?
If your Python app can produce a csv file, you can upload it to Google Docs using the Documents List API and convert it into a Spreadsheet:

You can use a third party service for this. Or you can use WebRTC. There are some nodejs packages which can help you do this. I like "EasyRTC" for that.

In essence, Django doesn't handle the video streaming/chat part. You can use Django for authentication and serving the required html and other stuff. But the video chat needs to depend on other services.

I am very new to IBM BPM. I want to know how can i read/write data from/to different system to IBM BPM ? What are the different formats supported ? like xml, csv, database, WSDL etc. ??
Let us suppose I have a system from where i can get some data, may be in the form of xml, csv or database, etc (without WSDL contract. Now I want to create an interface in my IBM BPM, which can be used to read/extract data from above mentioned system. Is this possible without a WSDL contract ?
IBM BPM provides out of the box connectors for both the standard (BPMN) and advanced (BPEL) products. For BPM Standard the System Data Toolkit has built in ready to go integration points for databases, SOAP, XML parsing, HTTP requests, and more. There are a few examples of connectors in the L2-SampleApps project. There are more here on the BPM Tutorials page and here. and a full PDF of simple how to samples.
For the advanced side, there are some example here which have code you can review for connecting to various outside systems.
When you say "import from a remote location" which of the following do you mean
A user looking at a coach and uploading to the server from their computer
A user lookking at a coach and uploading to the server from a network location
A user looking at a coach and selecting from a location on the BPM server
The server accessing a file on its file system
The server accessing a file on another file system
If it is one of the coach options, you could use the file upload widget for coaches and then parse the file that is uploaded from the file repository using one of the open source java packages that allow reading of excel spreadsheets.

My situation: I'm working on a web monitoring dashboard that assembles informations from different applications and sources and generate graphs, info graphics and reports.
The applications I'm trying to integrate are CACTI, Nagios, and other local private monitoring tools. I had no problem to integrate these applications, except for Nagios (I don't have much experience with it).
What I want to know is if there is a way to use Nagios as a Web Service, or something similar, so I can expose some of the informations and use it to generate my own reports on my dashboard application.
Is it possible to do that without any epic effort?

Nagios 4.x starting with version 4.4 now includes CGIs for JSON output. Installing the newest version of Nagios might be the easiest way to go.

The Check_MK Multisite GUI (Web base GUI using MK Livestatus) offers a web service mode, where you can send queries/commands as URL parameters and get the response as JSON in the body.
The trick is: Create a view in the GUI, which fits your needs. Then extract the URL of that view and add the parameter output_format=json. Now you should have the output in a parsable format.
For example, this URL should give you a JSON list of all services:

3)NagiosWS plugin but I wasn't able to get to work it yet. I think it can be done for Nagios 2.x
4)GroundWork Foundation plugin. I think I will try use it now.
I was able to get to work 1 and 2 solution now.
Otherwise you can use Icinga which can give you some JSON or XML output. Icinga is fork of Nagios and can be installed with saving all your nagios data and plugins. At least it written on Icinga's site =) They have some other solution like PHP lib.

I'm trying to upload documents to SharePoint using web services attaching custom metadata to the files. I've searched but have not found a good tutorial covering all these topics. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Here's why I think I need to use web services:
I'm developing on XP and the Sharepoint object model is not remotable. This means any code which has "using Microsoft.Sharepoint" is out :-(
I'm looked into the CopyIntoItems web service but am having trouble implementing it myself. I was hoping for a clear tutorial. I've tried using the sample code from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/copy.copy.copyintoitems.aspx , but I'm not sure what my sourceURL should be. Also, since I can't use "Microsoft.Sharepoint" references, I'm wondering what my Fields will look like? (Is this my metadata?) Also, I'm curious as to why only Website projects allow me to add a web service.
Once the file is "in" Sharepoint using that web service, I'll have to use another one to update custom columns, or metadata. Some of these are freeform text, but other must match entries in lists or lookups. I haven't found any information on this yet.

As for why it is that is the way because Microsoft wrote it that way :). Some people have written custom web services that combine them, http://www.sharepointblogs.com/ssa/archive/2006/11/30/wsuploadservice-web-service-for-uploading-documents-into-sharepoint.aspx
Using the built in web services you have to upload the file and upload CAML which contains the columns. Another option if you are using a MS-Office document is to make sure the author fills in the properties in the document then you can have those fields displayed in sharepoint.

Perhaps I am not asking or searching for this correctly:
I want to have a desktop script (currently using python) that will update a list on a sharepoint site.
The current script reads various file shares, ftp sites and a ArcGIS database to determine which metadata files have been updated and published. The script then writes all these results to a Excel spreadsheet.
We would like to do the same thing, but keep the data in a Share Point list instead of a spreadsheet. We don't need to upload any files (which is what I keep running across in my search) but just update or add to a list.
We could care less about what language or tools we use, we just don't have access to any custom coding on the Share Point server.
You should be able to use the lists webservice on the Sharepoint server,
the url is normally:
http://host/sitename/_vti_bin/lists.asmx
you are looking at the UpdateListItems webservice call. I don't know python but I use C# and work with sharepoint every day you can find a working example on MSDN on a Windows app to call the web service.
