Writting and reading a custom variable to a file in Ocaml - ocaml

I'm trying to write and then read a variable to a file. The variable is from a data type created by me.
(If helps:
type sys =
File of string * string list | Folder of string * sys list ;;
)
How can I do this?
I've been reading about the use of fprintf, but for what I get it'd had to be converted somehow into a String first, right?

If you are sure your type will not change, you can use input_value and output_value from Pervasives.
let write_sys sys file =
let oc = open_out file in
output_value oc sys;
close_out oc
let read_sys file =
let ic = open_in file in
let sys : sys = input_value ic in
close_in ic;
sys
read_sys will break whenever you will try to read value stored with an other version of sys (or if you change your version of OCaml between writing and reading).
If you want safety, you can use automatic serializer such as sexplib (if you want to be able to read the file you are creating) or biniou for efficient conversion.

How can I conver a transcribed .wav into txt in full extent. - Google Speech API

I'm having trouble with converting full transcribed speech to a text file. Eventually, I get what I need but not the entire text from the audio file. Let me note this (1 Pic), I can see the whole text when I use print() function but get only one line of that text when I try to write it to .txt file (2 Pic).

What happens in your code is, per iteration you open, write, close your file. You should move out your opening and closing of your file outside the loop.
myfile = open("guru9.txt","w+")
for result in response.results:
extr = result.alternatives[0].transcript
myfile.write(extr)
myfile.close()

How to read a file, and write it to a different file

I hope all is well. At this point, I plan on reading a file, and then writing it to another file. (The equivalent of cp in OCaml, before I go ahead and manipulate text.) Currently in my code, I am making using the extlib to read a file, and then output it. I am also using dune to build file as an executable file. My file looks something like the following:

When I build the file using dune build example.bc I receive the following error:

Error: Syntax error
I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong, but to no avail. Any help would be more than appreciated. Thank you.

The rule for each local definition you must have a in keyword
(* a local definition is a let inside a let expression *)

3D Drawing from a file in an extra directory [duplicate]

I'm trying to get a data parsing script up and running. It works as far as the data manipulation is concerned. What I'm trying to do is set this up so I can enter multiple user defined CSV's with a single command.
e.g.
> python script.py One.csv Two.csv Three.csv
If you have any advice on how to automate the naming of the output CSV so that if input = test.csv, output = test1.csv, I'd appreciate that as well.

I don't really understand what is going on with the error. Can someone explain this in layman's terms?
Bear in mind I am new to programming/python as a whole and am basically learning alone, so if possible could you explain what is going wrong/how to fix it so I can note it for future reference.
args.infile is a list of filenames, not one filename. Loop over it:

Here I used os.path.splitext() to split extension and base filename so you can generate a new output filename adding 1 to the base.
If you specify an nargs argument to .add_argument, the argument will always be returned as a list.
Assuming you want to deal with all of the files specified, loop through that list:
for filename in args.infile:
for line in csv.reader(open(filename)):
for item in line[2:]:
#to skip empty cells
[...]
Or if you really just want to be able to specify a single file; just get rid of nargs="+".

How to change the values of a parameter in multiple files using python

I am a new user of Python. I got to learn a way of changing value of a parameter in a single file. The script:

It's run in command line with test.txt as
test.py test.txt 2.
3.7 is replaced by 2 in test.txt, as a result.
Now if I want to do the same for all the .txt files in the directory e.g.
test.py *.txt 2
what are the suggested modifications?

bash (or whatever your shell is) will expand the *.txt (to test0.txt test1.txt ... or whatever the *.txt files in your current directory are called) before passing it to your python script. your python script will therefore get many arguments (and not just 2 as you expect). print sys.argv to inspect.
you could solve that in bash itself with something like
for name in *.txt; do test.py ${name} 2; done
otherwise you would need to treat sys.argv differently in python and allow for more than 2 arguments.
Importing glob solved that issue. But I've got some queries.
Query 1:

Unable to write to file using Python 2.7

I have written following code I am able to print out the parsed values of Lat and lon but i am unable to write them to a file. I tried flush and also i tried closing the file but of no use. Can somebody point out whats wrong here.

You're covering the error up by using the except: pass. Don't do that... ever. At least log the exception.
One error which it definitely covers is lat+",", which is going to fail because it's float+str and it's not implemented. But there may be more.
