programmatically get ics file from icloud? - icloud

I've been running a process for a client that involves grabbing their publicly available calendar file from me.com by making an https GET call in a ruby script, and then converting the data in the .ics file to html, then copying it to their website.
They recently upgraded to Lion and iCloud, and it appears that, while the calendar I want is still publicly available, it's only usable by webCal enabled apps--I can no longer get it over https.
I've poked around a bit on google, but haven't see anything that points me in the right direction yet. Does anyone know if there's a way to access public calendars on iCloud via http/https? Or is it strictly via webcCl? The documentation does make it sound like iCloud is designed to only share data among Apple devices. Am I just stuck here?

I'm surprised no one has answered this yet...
If you go to iCloud.com, you should be able to get the URL of the calendar that you have syncing using a public share. It should be a webcal protocol (webcal://). However, if you change that webcal to https, it will download the ics format instead of trying to sync using Macs iCalendar.
I have my website linking to the https ics file, and it appears to be working just fine (for now at least).

icloud is gona supply an API for developers soon at least thats what they sayed in the last keynote

Stuck in transition between BlueHost and AWS

I cant seem to figure out how to query database information from mysql through a php file uploaded to a server back to a xamarin application after something like a http post call.
I am relatively new to database development, however I had used bluehost for php storage and querying of my app information for about a year yet cant seem to do the same with AWS. I have a relatively decent scope of what S3, EC2, and RDS do for you, however none of them seem to do what I want. In essence I want to be able to say have someone click a button on my xamarin app that creates an event for a club. Then after they click said button, it will make an http post request to an aws site that contains a php file. In that php file it will change or grab the contents of a mysql database. The only place that seems to be able to upload files is S3 but you cant seem to directly utilize php files in the JSON format that I want. Am I completely off with why you would use AWS at all, am I close but not using the right tools, or is it something else? Please give a pretty extensive description on all that I would need to do as I have been struggling to find anything at all on this topic surprisingly.
So after some digging this video here walks through it a bit with phpstorm as your way to connect to the database and add webpages or api php files. Its pretty long but very helpful.

I can't change the boot disk when I try to create a Google Cloud Instance

When I try to create a new instance for deep learning on Google Cloud Platform, by following various tutorials including http://cs231n.github.io/gce-tutorial/, I can't select a zone or boot disk (I'd like to use Ubuntu 16.04. There is no response when I click these features. How can I set them?
I've tried to reproduce this issue with various levels of authorisation in my own project and I've not been able to reproduce this issue. As you have access to the Create Instance page, It looks to like this might be a browser specific issue, rather than and issue with authorisation, or any settings within your project.
Would it be possible for you to try and perform this task from a different browser and see if the result is the same? For example, can you try this in Chrome browser and in an Incognito window?
If you are able to perform the action from a different browser, you probably have an issue with cookies, or a third-party browser add on affecting the functionality with GCP. You could try enabling the cookies for the browser to see if that makes a difference, or disabling/removing third party add ons to see if that makes a difference.

How to make Django pass cookies when communicating with Node.js server using socket.io?

I am currently developing an instant messaging feature for my apps (ideally cross platform mobile app/web app), and I am out of ideas to fix my issue.
So far, I have been able to make everything work locally, using a Node.js server with socket.io, django, and redis, following what most tutorials online suggest.
The step I am now at consists in putting all that in the cloud using amazon AWS. My Django server is up and running, I created a new separate Node.js server, and I am using Elasticache to handle the Redis part. I launch the different parts, and no error shows up.
However, whenever I try using my messaging feature on the web, I keep getting an error 500:
handshake error
I then used the console to check the request header, and I observed that the cookies are not in there, contrary to when I am on localhost. I know it is necessary to authorize the handshake, so I guess that's where my error is coming from..
Furthermore, I have also checked that the cookies do exist, they are just not set in the request header.
My question is then: How can I make sure Django or socket client (not sure who's responsible here..) puts the cookies in the header??
One of my ideas was that maybe I am supposed to put everything on the same server, with different ports, instead of 2 separate servers? Documentation on that specific architecture problem is surprisingly scarce, compared to the number of tutorials describing how to make it work on local.
I hope I described the problem accurately enough! :)
Important note: I am using socket.io v0.9.1-1, only one compatible with a titanium mobile app.
Thank you for any help!
All right, so I've made some progress.
The cookie problem came from the fact I was making cross-domain request, adding a few lines enabled CORS, which didn't solve the cookie issue, but allowed me to communicate between servers (basically I set the headers of the response using express. I then passed necessary data in the query, even if not the most secure way to do it, I'm just building an MVP, and it's enough for now.
I haven't been able to make the chat work from my Titanium mobile app, but since I can use a webview to handle it, I will be fine.
Hopefully that will help someone.. If anyone needs me to post some code snippets I will gladly do so upon request!
Cheers

user browse web site history data

I would like to list user connect web site link, get all history data
where can i got those data.
thanks
Well, since I'm new I'll just have to post as broad an answer as I can for your vague question.
If your goal is to get a users recent browsing history, you should just be able to look up the places where all of the mainstream browsers store their history data. I highly doubt the devs would put such insensitive information under encryption, so this shouldn't be too hard. Browsers that you should take in to consideration include Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Netscape Navigator, and all of the other Mozilla spinoffs, such as Sea Monkey.
If your goal is to establish a connection to a web server, and then download a list of data provided by the server, there is a lot of setup involved. First, you need a server. You can use something like Apache, and use the HTTP protocol for all data transmission, or if you're feeling brave, you could whip up a server of your own design. Second, you need a way to connect to this server. Since it appears you're using visual C++, WinSock would be the way to do this. There are plenty of tutorials online for WinSock, just Google away.
I hope this helps you, and best of luck to your endeavor.
As your question is tagged "C++", I assume that your program works on local computer.
Each browser has its own format of "history storage". You will have to work on different formats if you are targeting the major browsers, e.g. Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc.
For example, Firefox and Chrome stores its history in a SQLite database, while IE stores in a binary file named "index.dat".
Here are some places to start:
Firefox :
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Places.sqlite
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/The_Places_database
IE :

Can two different browser share one cookie?

My requirement is pretty interesting, I want to maintain one cookie between two different browser for same domain.
so lets say I have create one cookie with name "mydata" and value "hiscal" from IE, then if i browse same website from firefox and trying to read cookie "mydata" then system should give me value "hiscal"
but this is not happen in general case
so can any one tell me how i can share cookie between to different browser(client) of same domain.
Thanks,
Hiscal
You can build a cookie-proxy by creating a Flash application and use Shared Objects (SO = Flash cookies) to store data.
Any Browsers with Flash installed could retrieve the informations stored in the SO.
But, it's an ugly workaround.
Just don't share cookies... and find another way to build your website/app.
Every browser maintains it's own cookies. So in general, no this is not possible.
With a lot of hard work you could in theory write an application that sits on the client computer that looks at all the locations the different browsers store cookies, parses the different cookie formats, synchronises them and then writes them out.
That would be error prone and will break as soon as a browser changes how it works with cookies (not to mention that some of the browsers secure their cookies, so you won't be able to get to them in the first place).
In my opinion, this is not practical and I wouldn't even try.
Use YUI's storage utility and force it to use the SWF storage engine.
All computers and browsers would still have to have Flash installed, but you wouldn't have to write your own Flash app. You would benefit from using the one maintained by the YUI team.
As others have said, this is not very portable, but in a controlled environment, it might work for you.
Cookies can be shared with other data storage, through browser extensions. Maybe in Flash or Google Gears you can maintain shared DB between browsers, but it needs to be installed on both of them, of course.
Edit:
In Google Gears you can't. Maybe you should write self-made extension... or some user-login system, where the data will sit on the server.
