I need some help with a regular expression, please help if you can
I have the following code: I am using Javascript and ASP
{In|inside|during|into|in the sphere
of} {this} {article|piece of
writing|editorial|commentary|paragraph|section}
{we} {will|desire to|wishto|want
to|resolve to|will} {tell} {you}
{more} {about|regarding|with reference
to} {the}
The desired code should look like this:
{In|inside|during|into|in the sphere
of} this {article|piece of
writing|editorial|commentary|paragraph|section}
we {will|desire to|wishto|want
to|resolve to|will} tell you
more {about|regarding|with reference
to} the
The brackets around the single words with no | should be removed like - this - we - tell you more - the in the example above.
I am thinking that the solution should be something like this
replace(/{.+?[^\|]/ig, '');
to replace the { there should not be a | in the code; {.+?[^\|] and replace { with nothing
Then if there is not a starting { to replace the } with nothing
I am not sure how to do this, and how to only remove the {} where there is no | inside without removing the content...

I would like to have a pipe which is detecting any url in a string and creating a link with it. At the moment I created this, which seems not working:

Seems like there are two problems with your implementation:
Your regex has the first capturing group ( $1 ) matching the 'www' part of the url. You want to change the regex like this for it to work (note the extra pair of parethesis at the start and end of the regex):

Pipes can't render html normally. You need a trick to do that as mentioned in other questione like this. You need to assign your 'piped value' to the attribute outerHTML of a span for example (the span will not be rendered).

I have an XML-code where some tags generate xml parse errors (Error #1090). The problem is in attributes that need to be quoted:

Help me please to write a regular expression to make them as following:

this one will be correct:

In a nutshell, this RegExp means:
Find 2 groups: (class=) and (any-word-after-it)
Add before and after the group 2 quotes.
You should try the following regex>
regex = /(<div[^>]*class=)(\S+)([^>]*>)/g;
sourceString.replace(regex, '$1"$2"$3');
Try using a general purpose markup repair tool such as John Cowan's TagSoup. This is likely to be much more robust than anything you attempt yourself (for example, most of the suggested regular expressions don't even check that the keyword=value construct is within a start tag).

Regular expression for youtube links

Does someone have a regular expression that gets a link to a Youtube video (not embedded object) from (almost) all the possible ways of linking to Youtube?
I think this is a pretty common problem and I'm sure there are a lot of ways to link that.
A starting point would be:

So far I got this Regular expression working for the examples I posted, and it gets the ID on the first group:

I like #brunodles's solution the most but you can still match non video links like https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions
I went with this solution

I improved the links posted above with a friend for a script I wrote for IRC to recognize even links without http at all. It worked on all stress tests I got so far, including garbled text with barely recognizable youtube urls, so here it is:

I testet all the regular expressions that are shown here and none could cover all url types that my client was using.

Also remember to check the string you get for your video url, sometimes it may get the percent characters. If so just do this
url = [url stringByReplacingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
and it should fix it.
Remember also that the index of the youtube key is now index 9.

It'd be the longest RegEx in the world if you managed to cover all link formats, but here's one to get you started which will cover the first couple of link formats:

The second group will match the video ID if you need to get that out.

JS/Jquery/RegEx - Remove all tags except the ones with classname XYZ

this is driving me nuts ;-) I have a string whith various span tags... I want to remove all span tags except the ones with classname XYZ... The problem is that i havent found a solution to leave the closing tag...
My starting point is this regex:

But everything i tried to say "DONT DO IT IF MATCH classnameXYZ Failed till now...

How do I linkify text using ActionScript 3

I have a text that I want to linkify (identify URLs and convert them to HTML links). The text could be multi-line, and could contain multiple urls like the example below.
My current actionscript code looks like this

The problem with the above script is that it recognizes the first match and uses that across. Also how do i do it for #?

ooph ... why does everybody use regex these days, to accomplish super simple tasks? also, you forgot, that "+" is a valid character for URLs, as a replacement for space, and even an awful lot of other characters may be used, so your pattern would not even match accordingly ...
well, anyway, have a look at AS3 regex metacharacters ...
that'll GREATLY improve your expression's readability and is much more robust...
i'd go with something like this, really:
