I am trying to figure out the proper procedure for applying a new tsk based theme file in windows mobile 6.1.
I have tried working off of the page http://www.pocketpcdn.com/articles/changetodaytheme.html But this only changes the background, not the system colors for things such as the top and bottom bars on the screen.
wceload.exe seems to work perfectly for some tsk's and partially for others.
Does anyone know more about tsk files and applying them programmatically in Windows Mobile 6.1?
My application is an open source application, the code is avail;able via read only svn, feel free to check it out # google code
I ended up finding a solution, I don't think it is a universal solution though.
Calling "\Windows\cusTSK.exe \Windows\ThemeName.tsk" changes the top and bottom bars, but does not change all apsects of the theme... so calling wceload.exe and then calling cuTSK.exe in that order seems to be able to change the theme using all tsk files that I have tested.
The cusTSK.exe binary does not exist on the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional emulator image that you can download from msdn, so I think that this file that exists on custom roms and HTC made devices, that is why I do not think this is a universal solution, but it works for my purposes

I have an application developed with Qt3D (which uses OpenGL) by Qt 5.11.3 and Xcode 9.4.1 build tools. App runs fine on Linux and Windows, but on macOS Retina display (10.14, Mojave), I observe:
There are two workarounds for the above observation:
Set Retina display to full native resolution (microscopically small) then open app which seems to look and function correctly. Then lower the resolution to something usable and app continues to work properly
Get info of the app and check the open in low resolution checkbox like this image from a website:
I have studied similar questions but the posted solutions look more like a hack. And my app is a complex one, I cannot just simply multiply everything by a ratio. Is there any other solution for this? How can I force my app to open in low resolution on macOS, already asked here? Thanks.
We are having some weird problems using Java3D over a Windows' remote desktop. The remote machine is a virtualized server, which can't use the (physical) server's graphic card. When I run the app, the following error pops:
Unable to create DirectX D3D context.
Neither Hardware and Software Renderer are available.
Please update your video card drivers
and get the latest DirectX available at http://microsoft.com/directx
After switching to OpenGL (starting the JVM with -Dj3d.rend=ogl) the same error appears! What is possibly happening? How can I fallback to software rendering, either with OpenGL or DirectX, when the error appears?
EDIT: I've already tried using another OpenGL vendor, using Mesa3D's DLLs instead of the native ones, but it did nothing different. I also installed DirectX SDK and tried to start Java3D with the reference driver (-Dj3d.d3ddevice=reference), but it didn't work either.
The same error appears because if OpenGL fails, Java3D tries to use DirectX. If that fails, too, then the pop is shown.
I didn't manage to solve it because, instead of trying to change things at the remote server, I tried to emulate the problem at my own machine by disabling the video driver. I still don't know why both problems aren't equivalent, but after I returned to work on the server and put DirectX's d3dref9.dll at Java's \bin, it worked.
Now I have an entire new problem, as the JVM can't find the DLL if I place it at java.library.path or Tomcat's \bin :) Problems just can't not exist.
Try the following:
Under Windows:
First, open the Display Properties pane by right clicking on desktop screen and choosing Properties item in menu. In that pane, display the Settings tab, and click on the Advanced button. Then in the Troubleshoot tab of the pane that opened, check the Hardware acceleration cursor is at its maximum on Full, confirm your choice and try to run your program again.
If the previous operation didn't resolve your problem, update the OpenGL and DirectX drivers of your graphic card with the latest available ones, and try to run Sweet Home 3D again.
I am beginner in an silverlight application. So at first i looked on demo application which is provided by wince 6.0 r3 at location
WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\DEMOS\XAMLPERF - this contains c++ code
and
WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\FILES\XAMLPERF - this contains xaml file with the images
Now before running this application in an emulator. I at first proceeded with the following:
I have first taken my workspace went to catalog item and added "Silverlight for Windows Embedded"
from the drop down menu of an catalog item
Then right clicked on solution explorer and choosed on properties and under configuration in drop down menu i have selected environment variables where i have added new variable called "sysgen_samplexamlperf" and assigned value as 1 for that variable.
Now after rebuiding the application, i have dumped the image into emulator and i found that at desktop of device emulator i can see the exe file to which i run and i can see the application is working fine with 3d effects.
Now same thing i proceeded in iMX31 hardware and i was not able to see the application running in a proper manner as it was performing in an emulator. So now what i feel is that there be any dependency when we run the application on hardware.
So what can be the dependency? Also in this location "WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\FILES\XAMLPERF" the images are in png format. So is there any dependency with an image format?
Thanks and regards
Silverlight for Embedded devices does not require HW support. You can add hardware support to enhance performance, but it is not a requirement.
On my PXA3XX platform for example, Silverlight runs without any HW tweaks through the driver.
What is your question exactly? Where is the demo application?
You can just as well add the XAML based internet explorer to make sure it Silverlight runs. Be aware that the XAML based IE does not have a shortcut on the desktop so you need to create one by yourself or just run the executable from \Windows
I'm using windows XP , hebrew version.
I am trying to save an AVI file using the Video For Windows API in C++, when I run the AviSaveOptions() function, the dialog opens as a thin unclickable strip at the corner of the screen.
Would it have anything to do with the language (Hebrew)? maybe with the vfw driver itself? what might cause a windows dialog window to be distorted/invisible?
thanks
Roey
Can't really answer your question, but I've seen problems with localized versions of AVISaveOptions dialog. The Swedish Windows XP version of it never showed but one codec, although more were installed on the system. Verified on several Swedish XP installations. Other languages we could test didn't show this. Submitted a bug report to MS, and to my great surprise, never heard back.
The AVIFile API in general seems to be spec'ed and and implemented by a bunch of drunken monkeys, so I wouldn't be hugely surprised if they had botched the Hebrew version beyond recognition.
I've seen a similar distortion of the AVISaveOptions dialog, only with Windows 7 Ultimate (English) with the Arabic language pack installed and the display language set to Arabic.
For me the workaround was setting the uiFlags parameter to ICMF_CHOOSE_PREVIEW, check the AVISaveOptions documentation. Not an ideal solution if you don't want the preview functionality on the dialog, but at least it is visible and displayed correctly.
I maintain a large C++ application using Win32 and i want to use some of the new controls introduced in Vista/Windows 7 (New ballon help, command links, status bar notofications.
I have downloaded the Windows User Experience Interaction Guidelines, but i dont find a corresponding API Reference. I know that some of these controls will be not available from core Win32 - so i am looking as well for some source about which controls need which API (WPF or whatever).
Any Links?
The Windows 7 SDK site has a number of downloads and guidance pages which should help point you in the right direction: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/bb980924.aspx
The taskbar/notification API is further documented here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd378460(VS.85).aspx
Following Wolfs link and browsing for quite a while, i came up with the following entry point (on microsoft.com), that looks quite valuable to me:
Windows User Interface
and more specifically:
Windows Controls
As far as i can see there is nothing that can NOT be done using core Win32.
