How can I save my exports from BI as .xlsx instead of .csv ?
when i click on dots and then export data, it show me a tool box that contains only csv file.
Looks like you're exporting from Power BI desktop, which only supports the .csv format.
As David said, if you want to export to Excel, the report needs to be published to a workspace, and then exported from there.
In the workspace, find the dataset you want to export and click the drop down to create a formatted table. From here, create your export and download as .xlsx.

I have a PowerBI Online dashboard with 24 tabs that all need to be exported to PDF as a single document. I would like to be able to download a full workbook of the 24 charts without having to export them manually one by one. Is this possible in PowerBI Online? Is there a way to build a process in PowerAutomate if not? Thanks for the help!
PowerBI Chart Sample
Right now when I click the "Export to DPF" button it is only allowing me to export the chart that is visible (see image - only allows the visible Chart 4 to be exported but not the others).I would like it to export all charts 1-4 in one PDF workbook.
are you using a power bi report server or uploading to a power bi portal because when you click on file-> export-> export pdf on a power bi desktop, your reports return to pdf without any problems. I even tried this for you.
I'm new to power bi. I have developed a dashboard on power bi desktop. It reads some .csv files as data source. Now I need to move it to another machine, names of those csv files are the same, path is the only thing to be updated.
Is it possible to change the path only, instead of rebuilding this dashboard? Thanks.
In Power BI Desktop:
Go to File - Options - Data Source settings
Select your csv-file
Click the Change Source ... button and change the file path
I have a power bi report that connects to another power bi dataset.
I want to import an excel file into the new report's dataset without making any changes to the original dataset.
On this new report (that uses another dataset) the transform query button is grayed out so I'm not sure how to import an excel file. Does power bi support this?
Use the Get data button on the home tab. Should be a simple upload of the excel file. Make sure to use the desktop version. Using the model tab on the far left side you can link variables (many to many, many to one, etc.) (if the datasets are related)
What you`re looking for is a Composite Model. If you want to use it, you first have to enable the following Preview features in Options:
After a restart you can click on Transform data and Power BI will add a local model and allow you to add further data sources like Excel files to it.
A client of mine is asking me to export the data from a table or matrix visualization to an excel file for custom reports.
I checked out an excel plugin but couldnt make it work.
Can this be made? Is it one of the premium features only?
Yes it can be done. You can do it like this from Power Bi.
Another approach is if he has an account to power bi that has access to the report he can use an excel plugin to connect to the tabular model.

I want to export the Interactive Grid data into an excel. How can I do that. In the download option in Actions tab, it only has csv and HTML option.
Can we add an option there to download the report in excel. Or can we add a button separtely, on click of which the report can be downloaded in xls.
Thanks,
Abha
CSV is Excel. Not a true MS Excel file (i.e. XLS or XLSX), but - Excel opens a Comma-Separated-Values file without any problems.
So - export as CSV, open with Excel. Should be just fine.
Yes, interactive reports and grids support exporting to native Excel (xlsx), as well as Word (rtf) and PDF.
To enable this there are multiple options:
Oracle BI Publisher
FOP (ORDS)
APEX Office Print (AOP)
Once you have configured the print server (this is an APEX instance-wide setting), you can then enable the output options in your IR or IG regions.

(note: I'm not sure that all the other printing options mentioned in this link support interactive reports or grids)
