I was trying to subclass a button but my window isn't showing up and I have to restart visual studio every time to run the application. At the moment nothing shows up : it just shows nothing when I run the application. I think it's something to do with the function RegisterClass1.Please help
Here is my code:

Error LNK1168 cannot open C:\Users\Rubel\source\repos\CustomButton\Debug\CustomButton.exe for writing CustomButton C:\Users\Rubel\source\repos\CustomButton\CustomButton\LINK 1
Based on the "Layered Windows":
After the CreateWindowEx call, the layered window will not become
visible until the SetLayeredWindowAttributes or
UpdateLayeredWindow function has been called for this window.
The following is an example to make the layered window visible (show up):
HWND hWnd = CreateWindowExA(WS_EX_LAYERED, g_szClassName, "Scenes", WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW, CW_USEDEFAULT, CW_USEDEFAULT, CW_USEDEFAULT, CW_USEDEFAULT, NULL, NULL,
hInstance, NULL);
SetLayeredWindowAttributes(hWnd, NULL, 255, LWA_ALPHA);
if (!hWnd)
{
return FALSE;
}
ShowWindow(hWnd, nCmdShow);
UpdateWindow(hWnd);
Update:
Another cause for this issue is RegisterClassExW is not called (in RegisterClass1), this will cause CreateWindow fails with returning NULL window handle. So error checking is very important.
I'm pretty new to C++ and I tried making a window, I wanted to insert a text inside the window. I tried googling and finding some way of doing this, one method I saw was by using the PAINSTRUCT function. I keep getting a const char error, which I can't seem to understand or fix. Can someone help me? I have pasted the code.

I think you should firstly know const char* and char*.
char* is a mutable pointer to a mutable character/string.
const char* is a mutable pointer to an immutable character/string. You
cannot change the contents of the location(s) this pointer points to.
Also, compilers are required to give error messages when you try to do
so. For the same reason, conversion from const char * to char* is
deprecated.
Refer: Difference between char* and const char*?
Then your project is created in a Unicode Character way, so you should use the Unicode Character API to create a string array, such as LPCWSTR, _tcslen.
Minimal code:
case WM_PAINT:
{
PAINTSTRUCT ps;
HDC hdc = BeginPaint(hWnd, &ps);
// TODO: Add any drawing code that uses hdc here...
std::vector<LPCWSTR> cpaText;
cpaText = {L"Hello World!",L"Your Boy Made His First Window!",L"YEAH"};
int iY = 5;
for (int iLoopCounter = 0; iLoopCounter < cpaText.size(); iLoopCounter++, iY += 20)
{
TextOut(hdc, 5, iY, cpaText[iLoopCounter], _tcslen(cpaText[iLoopCounter]));
}
EndPaint(hWnd, &ps);
}
break;
Note: Don't forget to add #include <vector>.
I am trying to create a simple Tic-Tac-Toe game for a school project. I don't really know how to work with windows and I just want to work with others' code, using the default "Windows Desktop Application" (C++) in Visual Studio, but it keeps giving me this error message:
identifier "hWnd" is undefined
I don't really know how to work with this (at school, we work with some basic console application stuff) and I don't know how to define hWnd.
Can somebody help me?

bejeloles() isn't used, remove it.
Your void tabla_kirajzol(); should have this signature: void tabla_kirajzol(HWND hWnd); to enable passing the hWnd variable to the function.
Your void palya(); should, for the same reason as above, be void palya(HWND hWnd);
In the message loop, do this to pass hWnd to tabla_kirajzol:
case WM_PAINT:
tabla_kirajzol(hWnd);
break;
In tabla_kirajzol, call palya like this: palya(hWnd);
Disclaimer: The above is untested because you didn't make a Minimal, Reproducible Example, so there could be more errors
Having a window with gif and some elements c++ winapi(Non-MFC) using gdi+. SO I want to make transparent elements(Edit,Static,Button). I want to make transparent gray background of elements.
I have tried to handle WM_CTLCOLORSTATIC and adding style WS_EX_TRANSPARENT and m. but it didn't give correct result. But when I handle WM_CTLCOLORSTATIC with code:
hdcStatic = (HDC) wParam;
SetTextColor(hdcStatic, RGB(0,0,0));
SetBkMode (hdcStatic, TRANSPARENT);
return (LRESULT)GetStockObject(NULL_BRUSH);
And it showed STATIC styles transparent, but I could see background of Windows 10.

The WS_EX_TRANSPARENT style doesn’t mean “transparent”; it means
“paint over siblings.”
The style is called “transparent” not because it makes the window
transparent but because it makes transparency possible.
Please refer: Why isn't my transparent static control transparent?
The only way I've found to do this reliably is to sub-class the static control and paint the background manually.
You can catch the WM_ERASEBKGND message and paint the appropriate portion of the underlying bitmap.
Please refer:
Is it possible to make a Static control transparent?
C++ Win32 Static Control Transparent Background
Also, if you want remove grey background, you can change static control background and make it transparent.

Debug Result:
I am trying to work out how to fade out or dim the Windows Desktop and then display a rectangular portion of the desktop normally. This is for a screen area capture program. You can see the precise effect I am after in Jing Fading the background in a Web page is also commonly done. Any tips/pointers/C++ source much appreciated. Google has not helped so far.
Thanks,
Neville
Use a layered window that covers the entire screen, but paint it with color key values such that the rectangular region of interest (the area that should be undarkened) is filled entirely with the color key. This region will then be completely transparent, and not darkened like the rest of the desktop. The rest of your layered window should be set to have a constant alpha value that is mostly transparent and filled with a dark color.
Here's a complete, working example:
#include "stdafx.h"
#include "ScreenCapper.h"
#define MAX_LOADSTRING 100
// Global Variables:
HINSTANCE hInst; // current instance
TCHAR szTitle[MAX_LOADSTRING]; // The title bar text

Windows does that on Display Control Panel
