Why does my Slicer in Power BI only affect some visuals but not others? How do I make it affect all visuals on the same page in Power BI Desktop?
Apparently, I did not set up the relationships correctly.
In order to set up relationships, go to Home > Manage Relationships.
Once I set them up correctly, this solved my problem

I have a 1 page report that I need to split into 2 pages. It currently has one slicer in the top left that controls all visuals.
In Power BI desktop I could just sync the visuals to the 1 slicer. How do I do this in the online version?
Thanks,
Mark
You can sync slicers in both Desktop and online, from the Microsoft documentation here, open the report and select the view item to turn on the sync slicers option. You can now sync/de-sync your items as required like the desktop version
I would like to change the default summarization function in the Modelling tab of Power BI Desktop to view actual value instead of summation of data, as described in this question.
I followed this video on customising ribbon in Power BI:
which suggested checking updated ribbon option in File/Options and settings/ Options/ Preview features, but there was not this option on my Power BI desktop:
Question edit:
I would like to edit a Power BI app which had already been published, so I will have to edit in Workspace, where I notice the default summarization is retained. How can I remove the default summarization setting the for Power BI app in Workspace?
(*Only for the first part of the question)
There seems to be a way to work around this with YouTube - 35 Don't summarize option Power BI.
Go to Data tab, click on the table on the right and edit Summarization option in the ribbon to Don't summarize.
I have created a dataset in Power BI web, and then imported it on Power BI desktop (using File -> Get data -> Power BI datasets).
I don't see a way of adding Calculated Columns. Does the dataset need some special configuration to enable this?
Based on my experience you won't be able to see the columns because it using direct query. you can still add some columns and measure but your'e basically flying blind. you can just select the table in the report(visual view) and add column however you'll have to play the guessing game. But if you know your dataset you should be fine.
However a Dataflow wouldn't give the issue you're having.
I have a SSAS tabular model I have deployed and made some power Bi reports. now I need to add some new columns and measures to SSAS and also add them to power BI. How I can do that?
As Power BI connects to SSAS Tabular in Live Connection Mode, once you update the Data Model and deploy it, open Power BI Desktop and it should see the changes made on that connected SSAS Data Model. You can then update and publish your Power BI reports to the service so the new metadata takes affect.
Anything that you remove that from the Data Model, may introduce broken visuals and errors, however adding anything new that isn't yet used will not affect the visuals or reports.
While working on Power BI, I have to show few columns from TABLE visual to specific set of users and hide for others.
So, till now I have created two ROLE in Power BI and added users but unfortunately, I am not able to hide and show TABLE Columns as per ROLE.
At this point - Column Level Security and Hiding Columns is not something one can achieve with Power BI.
